Best TL Reviews
Check in with Heather was quick and efficient. The room was nice. The bed was comfy and there were plenty of pillows. Overall the room seemed quite clean with the exception of the top of the mounted hair dryer in the bathroom which had a disgusting layer of caked-on chalky gunk. Even worse, the notebook with the room information was covered with the same gross substance on the plastic sleeves holding the pages. Breakfast was okay and the location was convenient.
Good:
⭐ Friendly staff
⭐ Free breakfast
⭐ Affordable and clean
Bad:
???? Seriously musty smelling room
???? Musty smelling pillows and sheets
I wish I would have seen reviews on the musty smelling rooms before booking. They had a small dehumidifier in the room but it wasn't even close to resolving the problem. If they can fix that it would have been a great place to stay.
This place is far from a 3 star hotel. First off, elevator was broken, feels sorry for people on 3rd floor with lots of bags. 2, Either the cleaning person plugged the toilet or they previous people did and the cleaning didn't happen. I had to go find a plunger and unplug it myself. 3, the trash in the bathroom wasn't empty (so I assume the bathroom wasn't fully cleaned), hence the clogged toilet., 4, Toilet roll holder missing, 5 bed side lamp missing a bulb, and when I went to get a bulb from front desk, they said they would bring one up. Never happened.
And last off, for the price of the hotel, the breakfast is pretty lacking. Better off staying somewhere cheaper if you want the same experience. If I need to add photos, I can.
I won’t stay again. Giving three stars as there was a lot done right, but still a lot wrong.
This was my second time staying. The first time I stayed, I loved it. The remodel for the rooms is just beautiful.
I stayed Thanksgiving weekend. I know that this is a hectic time but I have to share my frustration. My son had an accident overnight. I went to the front desk to ask them to change my sheets while I was gone. I also apologized for my son, spilling some popcorn and asked if they would vacuum that up because I do not have a vacuum when I travel. I let them know that there was no rush because I would not be back until that night. I got back at 7 PM and my room had not been touched. I called the front office. (this is where I got upset.) the man at the front desk said “there is no housekeeping. We asked them to stay, but they wouldn’t.”
While I understand, this is Thanksgiving, and they want to be with family, I feel like this was a very unprofessional answer, but also very poor planning. The front desk worker brought me a wadded up bed sheet. I informed him that I needed a blanket, so he brought me a wadded up blanket.
I had to go downstairs to get the vacuum myself and take it back upstairs to clean the mess and then take it back downstairs to the front desk.
At this point, I asked the front desk man to just cancel my room for the next day. I asked him how I would receive refund. He said “ we have not finalized the charge. It will only charge your card for the two nights.” At this point the charge was still pending. However, when I checked out the next day, it charged my card the full amount for three days and the man at the front desk said that I would receive a refund in 5 to 7 days. I’m not upset about the time, but I’m upset that I was given two different stories.
I used to love this hotel, but after the frustration of this visit, we will not be going back.
The room was well worth the $74 last minute coupon rate. I had one of the renovated rooms in the first two floors and was really impressed that this was not your standard inexpensive motel room. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom excellent. Not so breakfast. While the boxes may all have been ticked off, it consisted of standard, cheap, high carb items. The "orange juice" for example was a flourescent orange (I didnt try it) and the bread was of the wonder bread genre. The receptionist forgot to mention that they are actively renovating the third floor. Fortunately they ceased work soon after my arrival and the noise didnt turn out to be a problem. He also failed to call me back after I reported I had forgotten an item in the room. So excellent facility, time will tell if food and services are upgraded or it remains an inexpensive motel with excellent rooms
Clean room and excellent customer service at both check in and check out. The rate was very reasonable and I was very satisfied. When I'm back in the Kingsland area, I will definitely look to stay here again.
