Quick Facts About Golden Fish Bar

Golden Fish Bar is a popular fish and chip shop with several strengths and weaknesses, as mentioned in the comments above.
One strength of the Golden Fish Bar is the respectable servers and friendly staff. The customers appreciate the staff's friendliness and seem to have had positive interactions with them. This creates a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere for customers, making them feel valued and likely to return.
Another strength mentioned is the quick preparation of the food. Customers appreciate that their orders are prepared promptly, which is especially important for a fast food establishment. This shows that the staff are efficient and can handle a high volume of orders, ensuring customers are not left waiting for long periods of time.
However, one weakness that is highlighted in the comments is the lack of hygiene. Customers mention that the staff do not wear gloves while handling raw meat, which is a clear violation of food safety standards. This is a concerning issue and can increase the risk of contamination and foodborne illnesses. Customers might be hesitant to visit the establishment due to these hygiene concerns.
Furthermore, it is mentioned that there are no vegetarian options, despite the menu suggesting options such as a "veggie burger" and "vegetable pasty." This can be disappointing for vegetarian customers who may want to dine with their family or friends but cannot find suitable options for themselves. It is important for restaurants to cater to various dietary preferences and restrictions to ensure inclusivity and customer satisfaction.
On a positive note, the use of paper wraps and bags instead of plastic is mentioned as a strength. This shows that the establishment is conscious of its environmental impact and is taking steps to reduce plastic waste. This can be a point of attraction for customers who are environmentally conscious and prefer businesses that adopt sustainable practices.
The comments also mention that the fish and chips are of good quality, with decent portions and great value. This is a strength of the establishment as customers appreciate the taste and portion sizes. Positive word-of-mouth about the quality and value for money can attract new customers and contribute to the overall success of the business.
However, there is a negative comment about the quality of the food, specifically the rock eel. The customer indicates that the eel smelled and tasted strongly of ammonia, suggesting that it was not fresh. This is a significant concern as freshness and quality are essential in a fish and chip shop. Customers rely on the establishment to provide fresh and good quality seafood, and any lapses in this area can greatly impact customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Lastly, it is mentioned that the establishment only accepts cash and does not take card payments. While this may not be a major issue for some customers, it can be inconvenient for those who prefer cashless transactions. With the rise of digital payment methods, many customers expect businesses to offer card payments for convenience and security reasons. Therefore, not accepting card payments can limit the potential customer base and may discourage some individuals from visiting.
In conclusion, the Golden Fish Bar has several strengths and weaknesses. While the respectable servers, quick food preparation, and good value for money are positive aspects, the lack of hygiene, absence of vegetarian options, and issues with food quality are significant weaknesses that need to be addressed. Additionally, the establishment's cash-only policy and failure to offer card payments can limit its potential customer base. Overall, addressing these weaknesses and working on improving these aspects can help improve the overall experience and reputation of the Golden Fish Bar.

The servers were respectable. The food was prepared quickly. However, it definitely wasn’t very hygienic with no gloves while handling the raw meat, etc. There are NO vegetarian options despite the menus suggestions of “veggie burger” and “vegetable pasty”. At least they used paper wraps and bags instead of plastic. I would have liked to been able to have a meal with my family though ????
A lovely fish and chip shop with a friendly staff. There is a little mistake in the description, they don't do OAP or children meals, but if you ask for half portion or a pound-worth chips, they will definitely do it for you! I recommend it
And also, just look what a lovely customers come round sometimes! ☺
Best fish and chips in the area. Decent portions and great service. Good value too!
Dad's favourite fish and chips shop, he would not go anywhere else.
My only go to fish n chip shop . Lovely staff
Best fish and chips in this area.
Just been served a piece of rock eel, got home, unwrapped and first taste was of ammonia. Smelt strong as well when the batter was broken. Obviously well off. Needless to say won't be going there again.
Great Kebabs as they are soaked before hand in a beautiful sauce, there chill sauce is good but is more like a hot ketchup than traditional chilli sauce. Chips are good and fresh.
It always my local. Also bring cash they do not take cards.
