Quick Facts About Gorge Cafe

The Gorge Cafe seems to have a number of strengths based on the comments provided. One of the most frequently mentioned strengths is the friendly and helpful staff. Customers appreciated their willingness to accommodate requests, such as providing hot water for a baby's bottle. This indicates that the staff are attentive and go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction.
Another strength of the cafe is the quick service. Customers noted that their meals were freshly cooked to order and served without a long wait. This indicates that the kitchen is well-organized and efficient, allowing for a smooth and timely dining experience.
The menu at the Gorge Cafe is also praised for its variety and value. Customers noted that there are vegetarian options available and that the prices are reasonable. The offer of kids eating for free with every adult meal was also appreciated, as it provides a cost-saving option for families. This indicates that the cafe is inclusive and caters to a diverse range of customers.
The quality of the food and drinks is also mentioned as a strength. Comments indicate that the cafe serves tasty meals, with particular praise for the breakfast options. The food is described as well-cooked, not greasy, and served steaming hot. This indicates that the cafe takes pride in the quality of their offerings.
The cafe's location and decor are also mentioned as positive aspects. Customers appreciate the retro decor and the view of the bus station. This indicates that the cafe has a unique and pleasant atmosphere, making it a desirable place to spend time.
While the strengths of the Gorge Cafe are clear, there are also a few weaknesses that need to be addressed. One comment mentions a negative experience with the timing and quality of the food. The meals were served at different times, with the kids' meals coming out first and the rest of the meals following later. This indicates a lack of coordination or communication in the kitchen. Additionally, one of the meals was overcooked, and the chips were still hard. This indicates a lack of consistency in the cooking process.
Another weakness mentioned is the unfriendliness of some staff members. One customer felt sorry for a staff member who seemed overworked while another staff member seemed to be idle. This indicates a lack of teamwork and perhaps a need for better scheduling and management.
Based on the comments provided, it is clear that the Gorge Cafe has several strengths that make it an appealing dining option. The friendly staff, organized kitchen, varied menu, and value for money are all positive aspects that contribute to a positive dining experience. However, the cafe should address the issues with timing and quality of food, as well as the friendliness and workload of the staff. By addressing these weaknesses, the Gorge Cafe can further strengthen its reputation and provide an even better dining experience for its customers.

Friendly staff and helpful, more than happy to provide hot water for my granddaughter's bottle! Our meals were freshly cooked to order but served with out a long wait which shows an organised kitchen. The menu was varied and had veggi options and also value for their reasonable prices, we also loved the offer of kids eat free with every adult meal very handy for cash strapped parents. They make a lovely cuppa.
A great cafe, really nice staff & usually not to much of wait. Good selection of food & drinks. Nice, retro decor looking out to the bus station. Prices seem a little pricey but you do get a good sized meal.
A good place for a coffee and sit down to watch the world go by.
Set in the bus depot with a quirky retro setting going on. Clean, tidy and the staff are friendly. If you do happen to find yourself there having a coffee, take a moment and see if you can count how many lights there are suspended from the ceiling!
First visit today and will be our last. Ordered 5 meals and the meals came out at different times. The kids meals came out fist and they finished their meals before we got the rest. We got the next 2 meals and one meal didn't have enough chips and was told more were coming. They came out with the last meal. The pie was over microwave and the chips were still hard. Found the staff unfriendly and I did feel sorry for o e member of staff. She wanted a break. She was cooking and serving while the male member of staff just stood there. I gave one star but to be honest it shouldnt have been that.
Absolutely scrummy breakfast ???? cooked on hot plate so not dripping in fat and the best service I've received in a long time, going again in a couple of days ????
Superb breakfast, always served lovely hot and not greasy
Great cafe , right near town centre and bus station. Went to eat here on both days I was in the Yeovil area and it was great both times. Friendly staff & lovely cooked grub for good prices.
I'll be back next time I'm in Yeovil
Excellent food. Steaming hot when served. Beautiful basic food wonderfully cooked and all for very good prices. Well worth a visit.
