Quick Facts About Great Orme Summit Complex
The Great Orme Summit Complex is a popular tourist destination with several strengths. One of its main strengths is the stunning view it offers. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views across Llandudno bay, the Irish Sea, Anglesey, and even Liverpool on a clear day. This panoramic view is considered one of the highlights of the complex and attracts many tourists.
Additionally, the complex offers a variety of amenities and activities. The cafe, restaurant, and bar provide visitors with a range of options for snacks, meals, and drinks. There is also a well-stocked gift shop where visitors can purchase souvenirs. The presence of mini golf adds a bit of entertainment for both children and adults. Furthermore, there is a small playground for kids to enjoy. These amenities make the complex a versatile destination for people of all ages.
Another strength of the complex is its accessibility. Visitors have several options to reach the summit, including a bus, funicular/tramcar, cable car, car, or even by foot. This flexibility allows visitors to choose the most convenient and enjoyable mode of transportation.
Furthermore, the complex offers free parking for visitors who pay for the toll road entrance near the pier. This is a convenient perk for those traveling by car. Additionally, the availability of parking allows visitors to enjoy the views even on rainy days when it might not be feasible to explore the surrounding area on foot.
The complex is also commended for its tranquility and lack of overcrowding. Many visitors appreciate the peacefulness offered by the Great Orme Summit Complex. It is described as a beautiful and peaceful area that is worth spending a night or two in. The absence of large crowds allows for a more enjoyable and immersive experience.
In terms of weaknesses, one recurring issue mentioned in the comments is the inconsistent service at the restaurant. Several visitors expressed dissatisfaction with the quality and service of the restaurant. One commenter mentioned receiving a subpar chocolate milkshake, while another mentioned feeling neglected by the staff. These negative experiences indicate a weakness in the overall dining experience at the complex.
Another potential weakness is the limited availability of certain attractions. Some commenters mentioned that certain facilities, such as the cable car, train, and Great Orme Mine, were closed during their visit. This limited access can be disappointing, especially for those who specifically visit the complex for these attractions. It is important for visitors to be aware of the availability of these attractions before planning their trip to avoid any potential disappointment.
Despite these weaknesses, the Great Orme Summit Complex remains a popular and highly recommended destination. Its strengths, such as the stunning views, variety of amenities, and accessibility, outweigh the weaknesses mentioned. Overall, the complex provides a unique and enjoyable experience for visitors, making it a must-visit location in Llandudno.

Really well laid out shop and restaurant serving a wide range of gifts, snacks, meals and ice creams. Has a bar but was closed due to staff shortages.
However, it is the spectacular views from here that you get across the Irish Sea, North Wales, Anglesey and as far as Liverpool on a clear day (binoculars required to see Liverpool!).
Parking is free if you pay for the toll road entrance from near the pier (£3.90 at time.of writing) but the road is subject to rock falls and climbers who may dislodge things as they go. A winding road with hair pin bends from one side.
You can park in the car park and enjoy the views if its raining.
You may be lucky enough to see the islands goats or even its rare Ravens!
We went the beginning of March, the cable ???? car, train and great orme mine was shut, which we knew, but went for the views which was well worth it, also slept the night by the great orme mine. Lovely walks with the dog.
Great views but the restaurant is ridiculous. I wanted to buy a chocolate milkshake, but it was a cup of not even cold milk with one spoon of cocoa powder in it. Staff were talking to each other, they served the family behind us first, not really bothered when I tried to order our drinks. Definitely not going in that restaurant again. But the place all together was really beautiful.
Fantastic views across Llandudno bay from the Great Orme! You can there by bus, funicular/tramcar, cable car, car or on foot. There are a couple of cafes up there, a gift shop, mini golf and a small children's playground and a bronze age mine. Don't visit Llandudno without visiting the Great Orme.
Great place to have a picnic and quality time with friends and family. They have got a cafe, restaurant, bar and mini golf course with friendly staff and reasonable prices. there is also a amazing playground for kids and cable car service with amazing views. The cable car service from this complex takes to the ground (llandudno pier). This is the place where you can spend the whole day, highly recommended.
