One of the most significant strengths of Harbour Lights Place is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Multiple comments mention the friendly staff and great local atmosphere. This creates a positive and inviting environment for customers. Additionally, the pub welcomes dogs, which is a bonus for dog owners and adds to the friendly atmosphere.
The views from Harbour Lights Place are another notable strength. Customers comment on the amazing views over the Tyne estuary, North Sea, and surrounding areas like South Shields, Fish Quays, and Tynemouth. These views enhance the overall experience and provide a picturesque backdrop for enjoying food and drinks.
The quality of the food is also highlighted as a strength in some comments. Customers mention that the food looked fantastic and that they thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Very warm, welcoming and friendly staff.
Although we didn't eat there this time the food looked fantastic.
The views over the Tyne estuary, out to the North Sea, looking over South Shields, Fish Quays and Tynemouth, are amazing.
Would fully recommend a visit.
We really enjoyed the food here. The nachos were the best we've had since moving to the UK 1.5 years ago! The fish in their Harbour pie was cooked perfectly. Very friendly staff.
Had a lovely feel to this pub, and I will be back.... I hope. But unfortunately after 6pm the menu turns to tapas, and those choices were a little too exotic for the 80yr old lady we had with us.
Well, armed with that information we shall arrive earlier....... or I shall just enjoy a nice pint in what seems a nice pub.
Friendly staff great atmosphere and dogs welcome.
Nice inside. Not busy when we went. But £6 for a pint of neckoil compared to normal was a bit extreme. So only one pint for us and move on. Nice views when weather ok.
Sorry but this used to be a great pub. Unfortunately it's had a massive decline. Its cramped, dirty and rather shabby.
The men's toilets were flooded, the tables weren't wiped down in the bar area and it was just not a pleasant experience.
Sorry but it's a no from me.
Location is the star here and some nice young ladies behind the bar. Great views out over the Tyne mouth. I could settle in the window with a decent pint and watch the sea for a couple of hours easily. I had a good pint of Oakham Citra on my visit. Cheers
Great find at top of headland, walking up from sea front. Friendly staff and good local atmosphere. And the best fish and chips - hot and golden, dry and crispy, home made mushy peas and tartare sauce. Tasty batter puffed up and falling off succulent, really tasty cod. Will actively seek this out next time. Maybe even parking up there and walking down to the beach. Oh, did I mention the excellent view from their large front windows? And at night you see the Harbour Lights.
