Quick Facts About Jerry Di Trapani Barber Shop

Jerry Di Trapani Barber Shop has both strengths and weaknesses. Let's analyze them in detail.
Strengths: 1. Quality Haircuts: Multiple customers praise the barbershop for providing great haircuts. This indicates that the barbers at Jerry Di Trapani Barber Shop have good skills and are able to deliver the desired haircut to customers.
2. Reasonable Prices: Many customers appreciate the affordable prices at this barber shop. With a cost of $10 for a haircut, it is considered extremely reasonable. This attracts customers, especially those who are looking for a good deal.
3. Authentic Barber Shop Experience: The barbershop provides a traditional and old-school atmosphere. Customers enjoy sitting in the classic barber chairs and appreciate the charm of a third-generation barber shop. This adds to the overall experience and makes it unique.
4. Lively Conversation: Some patrons mention that they enjoy the conversations they have with the barbers while getting their haircut. This creates a friendly and welcoming environment, making the experience more enjoyable for customers.
Weaknesses: 1. Inconsistent Service: One customer expresses disappointment with the decline in service quality. They mention instances where the shop was closed during business hours and difficulties in making appointments. Inconsistency in service can frustrate customers and lead to a loss of trust and loyalty.
2. Lack of Communication: Another customer complains about the lack of communication from the barber shop. They had made an appointment but no one showed up to open the shop. This lack of professionalism can cause inconvenience and dissatisfaction among customers.
3. Unreliable Business Hours: A customer mentions that the shop was closed during their visit, even though the posted business hours indicated they should have been open. Inconsistent adherence to business hours can lead to frustration and inconvenience for customers who rely on those hours.
4. Unclear Appointment System: One customer shared a negative experience where they had to wait 45 minutes longer than expected due to a forgotten appointment. The lack of clarity in the appointment system and miscommunication can lead to customer dissatisfaction and wasted time.
5. Negative Online Reviews: Multiple negative online reviews indicate that other customers also experienced similar issues with inconsistency in service and closed hours. This can deter potential customers from trying out the barbershop.
Overall, Jerry Di Trapani Barber Shop has its strengths in providing affordable haircuts, a traditional experience, and engaging conversations. However, the weaknesses in inconsistent service, lack of communication, and unreliable business hours are areas of improvement that the shop should address to regain customer trust and loyalty.

Best TL Reviews

Not your regular barber shop, this place off great cuts and good price.
After all the other shops I have been too, Di Trapani delivers just what I have been looking for. Special thank you to Monica who cut exactly like I wanted. Im sold and coming back.
Been a customer for over 15 years. The haircuts are great (4 stars) however, the service has gotten terrible. I went four times during business hours and they were closed. I tried 10 times over the course of a week to call and make an appointment before someone finally answered. Made an appointment and left my phone number. Got there at 9:20 today for my 9:30 appointment. No one there. Waited until 9:45 and still no one showed up. I get that things come up, but one called to cancel the appointment. This used to be a great place to go for a haircut. I'm very disappointed in how downhill the service has went since Mark passed away. I'm now to the point where I have to decide whether or not I ever go back.
Great barbershop and true to the term. I love walking in and sitting in a true barber chair to get my hair cut by a third generation barber. The building and business have been in Mark's family for three generations. When I moved to Grand Rapids I searched all over for a good and simple haircut and couldn't be more pleased that I landed here. As soon as I walked in I felt like I'd been going here for years. Great haircuts and lively conversation make going to get a haircut enjoyable. Did I mention the extremely reasonable price??? $10!!! Awesome :)
A Midtown neighborhood treasure! $18 regular haircut, walk-ins welcome. Go on Tuesday or Wednesday for great service from Michelle.
TRIED to go here yesterday for a haircut and beard trim. Hours were posted outside, there was even a sandwich board on the street inviting people in, free parking in the back, signs trumpeting "Old Fashioned Barber Shop", "4 Barbers", etc. I was there at 11:40. Closed as tight as a tomb. Not even the decency to post a notice of closure for (early) lunch or some (any!) other reason. Looking through recent reviews, I see that my experience was typical. If they can't be professional enough to honor their own business hours, what kind of hatchet job would they do to your hair? Don't waste your time. STAY AWAY!
After a bad customer service experience at Foremost, we came here and the shop is a true old school barbershop. Honest people giving extremely reasonably priced cuts. The staff really give good cuts. IF there's one thing to say about the place is that there is a lady barber, I'm not opposed to getting a cut from a lovely lady, it's just a change from the traditional barbershop trend of male barbers. It's no big deal obviously, just a bit of a change up.
Made an appointment over the phone for an 11 o’clock haircut within their posted business hours of 9-5. Waited a few minutes past 11, nobody even showed up to open the shop. Terribly run business. Don’t waste your time.
Good price and a nice cut: edited from a 5 star
Edit: Used to be my go to place. The last two times I went to get a cut I couldn't. One time the open sign was on during posted hours and all the lights were on inside, but doors were locked, and the last time I waited 45 min to be told I had to wait additional time once I was up because of a forgotten appointment. I agreed to the wait, but I was told 45 min, not an hour and a half. I liked the cut, I liked the price, but it isn't worth my time at this point.
