Best TL Reviews
I've been getting food from here for 16 years and it's always been good, but last nights was the worst ever. We all (5 of us) said that the meals were all heat and no flavour. Never have we known a chicken korma be a hot as a madras, none of us could finish our meals. If it hadn't been a fifty mile round trip i would have taken them back and complained as this was £47 wasted
It's all about the food here. Don't expect anything remotely fancy about the service or surroundings and just enjoy the exceptional flavour of the food. Happy to drive 50 minutes to have curry here on a regular basis. Nothing else can compare. Cash only.
Terrible service
Sent food back as was not as ordered (chicken not lentils) and then received a spicy Korma dish after specifically asking for it to be mild - they do not listen seriously to your request. Be warned the Korma here is hot and you get laughed at for saying so!
Attended afternoon time and not busy. Appears to be several houses converted into a Restaurant. Takes you back to 60's which isn't a great thing! Service was poor - ordered 2 sheekh kebabs, 2 fries, 3 curry dishes with Roti/Naan. For unbeknownst reasons the 2 sheekh kebabs were delivered by chef on their own....no fries, dips, cutlery etc. Had to ask for fries for the kids. The Curry's eventually came out beef curry/chicken curry and they were average. Unlikely to attend again.
I heard some good reviews about this place and went here. But it was very basic flavours and food. It wasn’t the greatest Asian food I’ve had, it’s quite alright. A bit expensive as well I think.
Since it is well known and featured in the guardian, we paid a visit for some authentic Indian food. The place was buzzing with customers and almost full. The interiors were a bit dated but had a fresh lick of paint which made it look clean. The food was nice and freshly cooked. The menu was simple and easy to understand. I ordered bhuna chicken which should have been dry but was not! The lamb dopiyaza was nice. The main dishes comes with free chapathis which was freshly baked. The biryani was a big disappointment as it was bland and had absolutely no flavours. They also give you free sides of cucumber and raita. They are particularly proud of Rick Stein's visit a long time ago and have a huge photograph of his visit.
Very good curry . Very basic no frills. If its good enough for Rick Stein it's good enough for me .I had his signature dish and it was very good . ????
An ok Curry, an ok place. I'm always put off by restaurants where you've got to fetch your own cutlery. Chipped plates and bowls. Staff vacuuming around us as if rushing us to leave, it wasn't even that late. They serve food till 10 apparently and we were there before 9. The food was ok, nothing to brag about.
