Kathy's Little Kitchen has several strengths that make it a popular choice for customers in the area. One of the main strengths is its affordability. Many customers praise the restaurant for offering great breakfast options at affordable prices. This makes it an attractive choice for those looking for a quick and budget-friendly meal.
Another strength of Kathy's Little Kitchen is the quick service. Customers mention how the staff is efficient and quick to fulfill their orders. This is particularly appreciated by customers who are on the go and need a fast meal. The friendly and accommodating staff also contribute to the positive dining experience at Kathy's.
The food at Kathy's Little Kitchen also receives praise. Customers mention that the breakfast burrito is a popular choice and highly recommend it. They also suggest adding sour cream, pico de gallo, and avocado to enhance the flavors. The burrito is described as filling, although some mention that it can be a little on the dry side. Overall, customers have a positive impression of the food at Kathy's Little Kitchen.
However, despite these strengths, there are some weaknesses that should be addressed. One customer mentions their disappointment with the chile relleno plate, stating that the chile rellenos were small and lacked cheese. They also found the sauce and rice to be bland and flavorless. This suggests that there might be inconsistencies in the preparation of certain dishes, as not all customers have had the same experience.
Another customer had a negative experience with the carne asada burrito. They mention that the tortilla was hard and seemed stale. The carne asada was described as fatty and chewy, and the customer even encountered a long piece of meat that was difficult to swallow. This raises concerns about the quality of the ingredients and the potential lack of attention to detail in the food preparation process.
These negative experiences have led some customers to decide not to return to Kathy's Little Kitchen. They suggest exploring other dining options in the area for better quality Mexican food. This highlights the need for consistency in the food quality and taste at Kathy's to retain customers and attract new ones.
Despite the negative feedback, there are still customers who are loyal to Kathy's Little Kitchen and have positive experiences. Some mention that the food has a homemade taste that is hard to find in restaurants. This suggests that there is potential for improvement in certain areas while still maintaining the unique charm that keeps customers coming back.
In conclusion, Kathy's Little Kitchen has several strengths such as affordability, quick service, and friendly staff. Customers appreciate the good food, especially the breakfast burrito, but there are also weaknesses to be addressed. Inconsistencies in food preparation and quality have led some customers to have negative experiences and choose not to return. To ensure the continued success of Kathy's Little Kitchen, it is important to address these weaknesses and strive for consistency in both food quality and taste. This will help to maintain positive customer experiences and attract new customers to the restaurant.

Great place for breakfast and super affordable. They’re also very quick to fulfill your order so if you’re on the go this is a great place to stop. The staff is also friendly and accommodating. The food is good. If I could do it again I would still order the breakfast burrito but I would add sour cream, pico de gallo & avocado to it. It was really filling but a little on the dry side. Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and looking for breakfast.
The first time I visited Kathy's, I tried their chile relleno plate. The two chile rellenos it came with were very small and had little cheese in them, and the sauce it came with was unfortunately mild and bland, as was the rice (honestly maybe the most flavorless spanish rice i've had out many). For the amount of food you get, I would definitely say it's overpriced as well.
I work in the area, and decided to try Kathy's for a second time in hopes that it had just been an off day the first time I went. I tried a standard carne asada (beef) burrito without any rice. The tortilla that the burrito was wrapped in was pretty hard and seemed maybe stale. There were plenty of beans throughout, and very large pieces of carne asada that were very fatty and chewy. Halfway though I almost choked on a long chewy piece of meat and had to use my fingers to pull it out of my throat. I actually took a picture but decided not to post so I don't disgust anyone. I have probably had hundreds of carne asada burritos, and this was for sure one of the worst.
After both visits, I unfortunately don't plan to come back. If you are visiting from out of the area, I would recommend stopping by a number of spots on the peninsula or if you get the chance to definitely look up places in Salinas, some of the best mexican food you will find.
The GOAT - anytime I am visiting in the valley I always stop to get a bomb burrito or other food.
It's not the highest quality food, but it has that made-in-your-momma's kitchen taste that is so hard for a restaurant to replicate. Love it!!
This is a little hole in the wall and the people loves this place. I finally know why! The food is good, fresh made and delicious and the prices are reasonable. What’s even more impressive is that they take Apple Pay!!! Seating is limited but if you want a quick bite to go this is the place. Menu options are wonderful.
Get the super burrito, it's the best. Very authentic food and very affordable. Definitely coming back here!
I’m there at least once a week since it’s so close and the food is always consistently good. And if you’re there before 11 am, 100% try the pancakes!
I stay going back, the best veggie burrito.

Drove out to Kathy’s Little Kitchen after spending the morning and early afternoon hiking Point Lobos. We were very hungry. I had a carnitas taco and a chicken taco. Spouse had a chicken taco and a chili verde taco. They were excellent. We both loved the refried beans. Place is small. We sat outside and enjoyed our late lunch. Worth the drive from Carmel for fresh well prepared Mexican food.
