Best TL Reviews
I was sent to this place at the recommendation of my friend. Both me and my daughter got full set gel nails. My daughter had Mona do her nails and they turned out absolutely great but I had another woman do them and they turned out horrible. I asked for square with rounded edges so the edges weren't sharp and I got completely rounded on my left hand and on my right hand I got the square with rounded edges after I voiced my displeasure with the rounded nails she gave me on the left hand She said they make your fingers look longer all this kind of stuff trying to justify it. There's a few nails that are even put on crooked so it looks really really bad on a couple of them. Both me and my daughter had flowers put on our ring finger and mine looks like snowflakes why would anybody want snowflakes on their nails in the summertime? I voiced my displeasure right after she did them and they wouldn't redo them. I called the business the next day and wanted to go in and have them redo them and they said that they refused to do that without me paying for a full set again even though I had just been there yesterday and paid $60 with a tip to the business. I always give a tip when I get fake nails since the time that it takes to do them. I am sooo disappointed because I get my nails done every once in a while.
This is my second time coming to Kim's. I came prior to Covid the first time and had a gentleman who did an amazing job with an ombre. So I waited purposely to come again recently when i traveled to MN.
When i called they told me to come that day and set a 4pm appt but when i came they said they were booked. I was to told to come back the next day.
The woman who did my nails did a good job on the ombre, HOWEVER, she did not listen when I asked her to make the nails flat to the nail bed and not rounded, and to please not cut/ file away so much at the cuticle.
Just as I expected and have previously experienced, this technique makes your nail grow faster.
When i called 3 days later to share that my nails grew up already and around the edges were cracking, she and another man at the shop pushed back rudely and insisted they would not fix and tried to claim a week had passed. This was not the case as I know what day I traveled up to MN and what day it currently was. It's not okay when they try to make their errors our fault.
For the images:
The defect is the diff btwn the depth of the rounded part and the flatter powder gel part. (Hard to explain).
Also, the amount of space at cuticle to the gel nail. I do want to note, these images are current at 2 weeks and now need a fill, so there is a little more nail growth. It was about half of this at 3 days, which is still way too much. The ombre though was done nicely. My concern is that the cuticle filing was overdone causing my nail to grow out too fast and pain to my thumb, so it looked like I needed a fill way before I should have needed one.
Horrible service. My guy didn’t say a word the entire time I was there, even when I asked him questions. They never told me to look at the book on the table where they had me sit. They had a book sitting there and then he was huffy when he asked if I picked a color and I said “I don’t know where they are” and all he did was point at the book.
Typically for a manicure, they soak your hands, trim cuticles, hang nails, etc. nope, not this guy! And he left so much polish on my skin, it looked stupid! Never put lotion on after my nails, no cuticle oil, nothing.
We’ll see how long these last!
My personal experience I love it my feet get well treated and they're very soft with the nails not jamming them and hurting you and the nails I love going with Tony! Always get compliments of his job well done.
I took my friend here for her birthday. They gave us the things to pick our colors so we picked our colors and brought them the colors, they made her find the color again and STILL managed to give us the wrong colors. They were supposed to be matching but the picture is what we got.
Love how my nails are done. I always have Jenny do my nails. She makes me feel special!
Came on vacation, they were okay. I like my nails to be soaked off instead of filed off, they just filed it off which I didn't appreciate. I wanted Stiletto nails and even showed them a photo and I had to tell the lady 4 times to fix my nails. They still don't look good, some are lopsided and some are round while others are points. Also not enough coats because you can completely see through my nail. Not impressed.
Just wanted to give a sincere thank you to this nail salon. My daughter and I thought we had made an online appointment here for pedicures at 4:45pm, but had inadvertently made them at another Kim’s Nail. We got there and had announced that we had a 4:45 appointment and without skipping a beat were told to head to our chairs. It wasn’t until getting a text from the salon where our appointment was actually made asking if we were still coming, that we realized what had happened. This Kim Nails closes at 5:00pm (15 minutes after we got there). Instead of saying they closed in 15 minutes and turn us away, they graciously stayed open another 45 minutes and gave us two awesome pedicures.
