Quick Facts About Larkman Fish Bar

Larkman Fish Bar has several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. Starting with the strengths, one customer mentions that they received a beautiful large fish and crispy chips, indicating that the quality of the food is excellent. This suggests that the fish and chips are the highlight of the place and are worth trying. Additionally, the customer states that the stream of customers they saw while eating suggests that the quality of the food is well-known among the locals, indicating the popularity and reputation of the fish bar.
Another strength mentioned is the friendly and polite staff, particularly the women who work there. This creates a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers and contributes to a pleasant dining experience. The comment also mentions that the fish bar is clean and airy, which adds to the overall appeal and comfort of the establishment. This emphasis on cleanliness is further reinforced by the comment that the fish bar is fully COVID compliant, with staff wearing masks and protective barriers in place. This ensures that customers feel safe and secure while dining.
In terms of weaknesses, one customer expresses disappointment with their order, stating that they received a battered sausage instead of the cod and chips they ordered. This shows a lack of attention to detail in fulfilling the customer's specific order, leading to dissatisfaction. It is also mentioned that there was only one other customer, indicating that it was not a busy period and there should have been no difficulty in getting the order correctly.
Another weakness highlighted is the absence of outdoor seating. Despite the positive dining experiences mentioned, one customer suggests that the place could do with outdoor seating. This is a valid point as outdoor seating can enhance the overall dining experience, especially during nice weather. Additionally, it is mentioned that the fish bar only accepts cash payments and does not have a card machine. In today's society where card payments are more common, this can be inconvenient for customers who prefer or rely on card payments.
Moving on to the quality of the food, one customer expresses disappointment with the fish, stating that there was more batter than fish inside and it was full of grease. This indicates a lack of consistency in the preparation of the fish and suggests that improvements could be made in terms of portion sizes and cooking techniques. Furthermore, another customer mentions that the mushy peas tasted like they were straight out of a tin, rather than being traditionally made in-house. This suggests that there may be a lack of attention to detail or quality in some aspects of the food preparation.
Overall, Larkman Fish Bar has several strengths including excellent quality fish and chips, friendly staff, cleanliness, and COVID compliance. However, there are weaknesses such as occasional mistakes with orders, lack of outdoor seating, and inconsistency in the quality of the food. These areas of improvement should be considered to enhance the overall dining experience and maintain customer satisfaction.

Best TL Reviews

On the way back from my cycle ride on the Marriott's way, I was hungry enough to try the fish and chips from the Larkman fish bar. I asked for a small cod and chips, what I received was a beautiful large fish, crispy chips, and the drool from vinegar and salt. This place is a jem! I'm going back to try some of the other things they serve. I think it could do with outdoor seating and I really think they should have a card machine, at this time its cash only! With the constant stream of customers that i saw as I munched away outside I'm not sure the quality is a secret to the locals! Great place will go again.
Ordered cod and chips, which came to £7.50. Got home to find no cod, but a battered sausage instead, so not at all happy. There was only one other customer and it wasn't a complicated order, so no excuse. I Have given 2 stars because the chips are good.
This is the BEST fish and chip shop in Norwich. The women staff are friendly and polite and work very hard. Superclean and airy. Been going for 20 years plus with Mark there before. A really good neighbourhood chippy.
Fully COVID compliant. See the pictures. I had read the previous review and was concerned about this but I only witnessed all staff wearing masks at all times and there was protective barriers across the front area. There were a couple of customers and everyone kept a safe distance. Fish and chips were generous for the price and the batter was nice. A little bit oily for my tastes but enjoyable.
Omg, had fish chips and peas
The fish was more batter than fish, the fish looks big but only tiniest bit of fish inside the batter and full of grease
The chips was ok but the mushy peas tasted like they was straight out of a tin not traditional chip shop mushy peas
Will not be going back again
