Called here Sunday lunchtime for a couple of pints. Great selection of ales, lagers etc on offer at reasonable prices in a fantastic nostalgic interior.
The shipyard was served perfectly.
The owners were most hospitable.
Highly recommended.
Five star from me, more if I could. Fantastic choice of ales and great service on every level. Not sure if they do food but plenty of local options if not. At least three coal fires, plenty of space inc up stairs. Great value. What’s not to like. Dogs welcome. Highly recommend
Really friendly owners, beautiful decor with fires lit, good selection of pints and close to the station/art gallery. Gluten free pint on tap as well which is nice!
Simply one of the finest pubs in the land. Great choice of craft and real ales, lots of nooks and crannies for conversation. Friendly staff and locals.
Nipped in here for a drink when in the area. A good range of beer and was served perfectly. Deceptively bigger inside spanning two floors. Would recommend.
Great spot for a beer, plenty of atmosphere and plenty of ales to chose from. Decent price for drinks as well. Really liked the Virtuous from kirkstall brewery. It’s an old police station so there’s a crazy layout with lots of random areas very cool.
Quiet when I arrived, staff were present. Great range of real ale, lovely pub with assorted benches, tables, chairs & standing. Later on, nice people, good chat. Summary: great beer, great people.
Can’t help but feel this once atmospheric, historic pub has lost its soul. The renovation has removed a lot of the charm and was saddened to see the gas lights have now been replaced by electric ones. Staff were boozing behind the bar and playing bad dance music when I popped in last night. Seemed strangely quiet for a Friday night too - perhaps I’m not alone in my thoughts?
