Quick Facts About Lia Dominican Salon
Lia Dominican Salon Place has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, several customers praised the salon for its efficiency and quick service. One customer mentioned being seen right away upon walking in, which is a positive aspect of the salon. Additionally, the quality of the services provided was generally well-received. Comments indicated that the hair washing and styling processes were done effectively, resulting in hair that remained straight and looked great even after a week. The longevity of the results is an important strength, as it demonstrates the salon's ability to deliver long-lasting hairstyles.
Affordability was also mentioned as a strength. One customer expressed satisfaction with the cost of their hair treatment, stating that it was under $100. This affordability factor may attract customers who are conscious of their budget.
The skills and expertise of individual stylists were highlighted by some customers. One specific stylist, Rosie, was praised for her abilities and consistently delivering satisfactory results. Positive experiences with specific stylists can contribute to customer loyalty and satisfaction.
Moving on to the weaknesses, there were significant complaints regarding the use of relaxers on natural hair. Several customers mentioned experiencing heat damage and loss of their natural curls after visiting the salon, with suspicions that relaxers were added to their shampoo or styling products. These complaints suggest a lack of transparency and communication regarding the products used in the salon. This issue undermines the trust and satisfaction of customers, particularly those with natural hair who specifically visit the salon to avoid chemical treatments.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer was the lack of pricing information available online or at the salon itself. This lack of transparency can lead to confusion and frustration for customers who may not be prepared for unexpected costs. Additionally, communication barriers were noted by some customers, with stylists who did not speak much English. This language barrier can hinder effective communication and lead to misunderstandings or dissatisfaction with the services provided.
The surrounding area of the salon was also mentioned as a weakness. One customer described it as a bit rough, which could potentially deter some potential customers who prioritize safety and convenience.
Lastly, a few customers expressed dissatisfaction with the overall service and professionalism of the staff. Complaints included a lack of salutations and communication, unprofessional behavior, and a lack of attention to customer needs. These negative experiences can significantly impact the salon's reputation and deter potential customers.
In conclusion, while Lia Dominican Salon Place has some strengths, such as efficient service, satisfactory results, affordability, and skilled stylists, it also has notable weaknesses, including concerns regarding the use of relaxers, a lack of pricing transparency, language barriers, a rough surrounding area, and instances of poor service and professionalism. These weaknesses should be addressed to improve customer satisfaction and attract more customers to the salon.

Great Salon!! I Walk in and was seen right away! The lady washed my hair very good & then oiled me up. I DID NOT Get The Deep Conditioning. Another lady blow dried my hair bone straight and then trimmed me up. She then flat ironed and put more oil in my hair.. she did a very good job it’s been a week and my hair is still straight! Even though I have put it in pony tails and buns. Haven’t wrapped it but one time and it still looks great! Also, My hair is about mid back length & it cost under $100. Will be returning.
Update: I Was Tired Of Having My Hair Straight So I washed It real good and moisturized & YES MY CURLS DID COME BACK. I have a mix of 3B/C I type hair. I guess I mean I looked on google images to find the type. But again I Will Be Back
I went to this salon 3 separate times in 2021 (March, August and October) to have my natural hair blown out and curled. The last 2 times I though I smelled the sent of relaxer when my hair was shampooed. I doubted myself as I assumed you could not mix relaxer with shampoo and chalked it up to the sent if a dirty drain with soiled hair in the plumbing. However my blowout lasted for months. My hair is moisture and humidity seeking, if it’s in the atmosphere it will pull it in and my hair will curl up and revert. In spite of what I thought I just assumed it lasted because I kept it wrapped. The next time I went again when I say down at the bowl I smelled the same thing, but because my curls had somewhat returned I went ahead against my better judgment as I had a photo shoot scheduled at the last minute. When I left the bowl (sink) and say in front of the mirror I felt my hair for my waves and curls which were gone. My hair that would normally shrink up to my ear when wet was falling past my neck. I asked why my curls were gone and she said it’s probably heat damage. 4 months later no curl and it dries straight as if it has been blow dried when air drying and so much breakage.
Sis, if you are natural and do not want chemicals snuck in your hair DO NOT STEP IN THIS SALON!!! Get yourself a Tymo ionic hair straightener brush, one 1-2 passes and no heat damage and save you coils, waves a curls.
They definitely put a relaxer in my hair I was literally trying to get my hair back healthier and they’ve ruined it. I was washing my hair and didn’t feel any naps I had a curl/wave pattern and and it didn’t feel like this ever. They probably thought my hair was to hard to comb I should’ve just did my hair myself but I’m def going to sue.
I had a wash / deep condition with my own deep condition and blow dry I have been going to this Dominican salon almost 8 years maybe a new owner I have always paid $65 for a roller set and blowout I never paid $85 for just a blowout
The young lady started making the prices she said is $95 I asked why is it $95 she said because I use the machine to dry my hair and The length.
I have the same length for almost 2 years now why she start breaking everything down why she’s charging me that much money she started making stuff up so she gets frustrated and walk away at the end of it all I paid $85 .I didn’t mind paying to get my hair done but I definitely have the right to ask why are you charging me $95 please be very mindful when you go into the salon they will make the prices up and get upset because they have to explain to you why you’re spending that much money…
Rosie, where are you?!
Rosie was the bomb. She never disappoint!
I’m a first time customer & My hair looks amazing. I am not one that gets my hair done often, but when I do I’ve always gone to a Dominican Salon. I got a blow out with deep conditioning & only paid $60 which I feel is very reasonable for my hair length and type. I got my hair styled by Maria.
Cons:
• no pricing advertised anywhere online or in shop
• My stylist specifically didn’t speak much English, if any at all
• The surrounding area of the shop is a bit rough
At the end of the day I love my hair and I will be returning despite the few cons mentioned.
If you want to keep your hair texture when you're done with the straightening, DO NOT GO HERE.! They are over priced and put some type of relaxer in the shampoo because my curls will not come back 3 months later . I regret doing this and will stick to a silk press or another salon, that doesn't destroy your hair causing it to start falling out. You've been warned. It was straight but I don't want a relaxer.
Horrible service no salutations etc.... ran in because of time on Friday at about 5 pm. Biggggg hint only one other person in salon! Communication was horrible but more importantly the wash was just ok... the conditioner was brief and to the point that I had to say coat my hair and comb thru! The gimmick is to ask for deep conditioner and I said no but do u do leave in ? Lady said yes and then put on leave in that later she charged me $15! In Dominican salons the heat can be intense. You must have heat protection throughout and I had to repeatedly ask for her to spray sections. The person that blew me dry barely talked to me and I had to tell here that the heat was too intense to which she was offended. Literally ear burning! My lesson ... stay away .... horrible ! Hair looked just ok but my goal is to protect my hair... I should have not ventured in and tell all to stay away ! No wonder it was empty it should close. Unprofessional and should be closed.
