I got the small plate (which gave a sampling of choices) nachos, and guacamole. It was delicious!!! I think the tamale was my fav on the plate, but everything was flavorful, fresh, and good size portion. The staff is friendly and attentive to their patrons. Excellent all around.
Friendly enough going in but service is terrible...sat for 30 minutes. I hear the food Iis great but didn't get the chance because I left. I know America thinks Mississippi is slow and backwards but they take it to a new level here.
Do yourself and your taste buds a favor and go get a meal here. It's authentic Mexican, the servers are insanely nice, the restaurant itself is very comfy, and there's outside dining available on a balcony/veranda type area.
You barely have time to dig in to the chips (taco shells broke in half) and salsa (see below) and your plates come out piping hot and delicious.
Their "salsa" which they refer to as Hot Sauce on the menu is entirely on point. Just the right amout of heat to get your nose running but not burn the hell out of your tongue. (You can also get it to go in various amounts up to a GALLON....)
Highly recommend. ????
How does this place survive??? The chips are literally taco shells broken in half! Whitest Mexican place ever! I can make better at home. Just NASTY!!!
If you’re Black, turn around and leave. Sadly we were treated much more poorly than other customers in the establishment. Maybe the waitresses they have felt like we wouldn’t tip, shouldn’t have considering the service was a no-go. Food was mediocre at best. Probably delicious if you’re an old person with sensitive taste buds. Much rather spend my money at Papito’s that’s 5 mins away & treat you nicely.
This is my favorite restaraunt in the whole world. Been going for 46 years. Hot sauce is like nothing you have EVER gad. Go!
As a mexican I will say this, there is nothing remotely authentic about the food here. Absolutely everything is boxed or canned and not properly seasoned and no for you southerners i don't mean salted. The staff was rude we were asked when we walked in if we need a menu. We were not greeted for 10 mins. Server asked very abruptly what do you want to drink. Took our order, brought out the food and harshly set it on the table. My food was cold, my coworkers food was drenched in oil (who deep frys a quesadilla) she told the server it wasn't edible tool the plate came back and handed us separate receipts and walked away. We thought maybe she was having a bad day we both had previously been in the service industry. But every table around us got the hey yall need a refill? Would you like anything else? Is this together or separate? Thank you have a good day. She was blantly rude to us and not once did we say or do anything g to deserve the disgusting service. On top of that the food is horrible. The only thing they have going for them is their smokey sauce they give to you with broken taco shells.
STEER CLEAR!!! DRIVE PASS THE HALF LIT CATUS SIGN!!! This place should’ve been gone out of business many years ago. I ordered a beef burrito, it was a flour tortilla folded in half with looked like chili beef microwaved out of a can, OUT OF A CAN!!! To add insult, NO LETTUCE OR ANYTHING!!!
I’ve had much better burritos at Taco Bell than this place & CHEAPER!!! Go anywhere else but here.
