Quick Facts About Mid Valley Market

Mid Valley Market place, located in Odell, has both strengths and weaknesses that can be observed from the comments provided.
One of the strengths mentioned by a commenter is the helpful and friendly employees. This is an important aspect for a grocery store as it enhances the overall customer experience and makes shopping more pleasant. Additionally, the convenience of Mid Valley Market place is highlighted by another commenter, stating that it is easier to access for those living in and around Odell compared to traveling to Hood River. Convenience is crucial for customers, especially for those who prefer to shop closer to home.
A positive aspect of the store is its decent selection, considering its size. Despite being a smaller grocery store, it offers a satisfactory variety of products for customers to choose from. Additionally, the deli's deep-fried food is mentioned as a positive point, indicating that it appeals to a specific clientele who enjoy such items during lunchtime.
However, one of the major weaknesses of Mid Valley Market place is its pricing. Multiple commenters mention that the store is notably more expensive compared to larger grocery stores in Hood River. This can be a significant drawback for customers, as they may opt to go to other stores where they can get better deals and save money. The high prices are repeatedly mentioned, which suggests it is an ongoing issue that affects customers' perception of the store.
Another weakness highlighted is the deteriorating facilities. Commenters mention chipped tile floors, dusty shelves, and leaks in the past. This can negatively impact the shopping experience and give the impression that the store lacks proper maintenance. Considering that the commenter mentions being a former employee, it adds credibility to their observation and implies that the decline in facilities has been ongoing for some time.
Customer service is mentioned as hit or miss, with only a couple of workers being friendly. This reflects poorly on the overall customer experience, as friendly and helpful staff are important for customer satisfaction and loyalty. The commenters' observation that most employees exude a vibe of wishing they were doing something else suggests that there may be a lack of employee morale, which can further impact service quality.
Another weakness mentioned is the can machine that is often out of order or breaks down easily. This can be frustrating for customers who want to return their containers and not being able to do so due to machine issues. It is an inconvenience and goes against the store's policy of accepting returns for deposit money on bottles and cans.
Furthermore, several commenters mention issues with the quality of products. The comments range from rotten vegetables to gray-looking meat, indicating potential concerns with freshness and quality control. These issues can erode customer trust, as customers expect to find fresh and quality products in a grocery store. The comment about poor coffee quality also adds to the perception of inadequate product standards at the store.
In summary, while Mid Valley Market place has strengths such as friendly employees and convenience for local residents, it faces noticeable weaknesses. The high prices, deteriorating facilities, hit or miss customer service, unreliable can machine, and quality concerns are consistent themes expressed by customers. Addressing these weaknesses could help in improving the overall shopping experience at Mid Valley Market place and ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Best TL Reviews

The employees are always so nice and helpful. Mcissacs is 1 star...Mid Valley 5 worth the drive.
Pros- conveniently located for people living in and around Odell. Easier than going all the way to Hood River.
-decent selection given the size of the store.
-if deep-fried is your thing you will probably like their deli around lunch time.
Cons-price. expect to pay a good 20-30% (atleast) more for most items than you would pay at a larger grocery store in Hood River.
-the facilities are getting pretty shabby. tile floors chipped in places, dusty shelves, etc. the most recent owner has atleast fixed leaks in the roof so you no longer have to dodge buckets catching water when its raining. Sad to see this, given that my parents owned this place from the early 80s through 2007 and I practically grew up in this store, working over summer and christmas breaks. sad to see it go downhill like it has.
-as a former employee (worked for Mr Cho from 2007-2009) I can attest that expired goods that are returned are, assuming the package is unopened, put back on the shelf again. its been quite a few years and I hope this has stopped but given some recent reviews in which people complain about expired goods for sale I wonder about this. if you shop here definitely check expiration dates.
-customer service is hit and miss. a couple of the workers can be friendly, but for the most part the people working here just exude this vibe of wishing they were doing something other than working here.
-can machine is almost always either out of order or breaks down after you have put in any more than a few cans or bottles. if its out of order they wont take your returnables, even though they are supposed to since they take your deposit money when you buy them.
I like Mid Valley Market it's local it's nice. The only reason I didn't give them it's clean they always have good products. And the customer service there is amazing. They're always very friendly and always have a smile on their face. The only reason that I gave it 4 stars is because they are pretty high-priced.
Convenient BUT over priced, watch the Expiration dates on EVERYTHING! Half the fridges don't work... ???? dairy section in the back , not always the best...
But it's close to home and does the job.... I only shop there IF I ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO.
A toda madre, esa señorita es muy amable, comprensiba ,les ase falta bolsa para llevar el mandado no importa que sea vendida . Mis patrones son Taiwan from .
Everything is overpriced The vegetables are close to rotten at best they discount the meat when it turns gray long lines always rude employees, they take advantage of their geographical location do your best to avoid the place
Nice small place, but limited selections.
We're going to start this one off with some of the worst coffee I've ever had in my life and the store had just opened so there is no excuse for poor coffee the meat was gray looking and old way overpricedyou definitely only want to go to this store in an emergency otherwise go to Hood River.
