Quick Facts About Mr Hays
Mr Hays Place is a Chinese restaurant in Blyth. Based on the comments provided, we can analyze its strengths and weaknesses.
One of the key strengths of Mr Hays Place is the quality and taste of their food. Multiple comments mention the delicious taste of the dishes. The sweet and sour chicken is highlighted as nicely cooked and great tasting. Another customer enjoyed the salt and chili chicken noodles, curry, chips, and gravy, mentioning that it was absolutely delicious and piping hot. Additionally, a comment mentions that the food was fresh and plentiful and reasonably priced, indicating a positive dining experience.
Customer service is one area of weakness that consistently appears in the comments. A customer mentions standing for over an hour in a packed reception of irate customers while waiting for their order on Christmas Eve, highlighting the poor customer service. The staff ignored everyone and carried on taking orders, showing a lack of attention to customer needs. This leads to frustration and dissatisfaction among customers.
Another weakness of Mr Hays Place is the inconsistency in the quality of the food. One person had a negative experience, describing the Chinese food as the worst they have ever eaten. They even compared it to a local supermarket microwave meal. Another comment mentions that the food was very salty, indicating a lack of balance in seasoning. These inconsistencies in food quality and taste contribute to the negative experiences and decrease customer satisfaction.
Reliability and timely service are also areas where Mr Hays Place falls short. One customer mentions waiting for over two hours past the collection time on Christmas Eve. They further express disappointment in missing items in their order, which seemed to be a regular occurrence for other customers that night. This lack of efficiency and attention to detail is a significant weakness of the restaurant.
In terms of reputation, one comment mentions that a friend recommended Mr Hays Place as the best Chinese in Blyth. However, the commenter disagrees, expressing their honest opinion that it is not the best. While this is subjective, it indicates that the restaurant may not live up to the high expectations set by some customers.
Despite the weaknesses mentioned, it is worth noting that there are still positive comments about Mr Hays Place. Some customers enjoyed their meals, found the staff friendly, and appreciated the reasonably priced food. These positive aspects contribute to the overall dining experience and can attract new customers.
In conclusion, Mr Hays Place has strengths in terms of the taste and quality of their food, as well as friendly staff and reasonable prices. However, it also has weaknesses, including poor customer service, inconsistencies in food quality, and issues with reliability and timely service. These areas need improvement in order to enhance customer satisfaction and establish a stronger reputation for the restaurant.

Absolutely delicious my husband had salt and chilli chicken noodles & curry also chips and gravy with prawn crackers £15.50 was pipping hot thank you enjoyed our meal ????
A friend recently recommended this as the best Chinese in Blyth and I can honestly say he's entirely wrong.
Tried them out on Christmas eve, placed the usual, very straight forward order and was told to collect at 8.
Stood for over an hour waiting, in a packed reception of irate customers (during covid), for what was the worst Chinese food I'd ever eaten. The customer service was hilarious, they slid the plastic screen, ignored everyone and carried on taking orders. In hindsight a local supermarket microwave meal would have been nicer. Anyway won't be back, shambles of a place.
What I needed: Good food, plenty. Thanks, Mr. Hays.
First time ordering from here . Very very salty just had to eat the meat and prawns out of it . Won't rush back
Absolutly disgusting its been thrown in the bin chicken curry and chicken chow mein.I am not sure what part of the chicken was actually in the curry and chow mein, sadly i threw it in the bin before I thought to take a photo.Never again. It used to be a fantastic chinese years ago whats happened to it.
Have received a responce from owner saying they use best quality chicken breast sadly its in the bin or I would have taken a close up.That was definatly not best chicken breast if it was it was they need to change supplier. It contained shredded lumps of a grizzly substance. It was not chicken breast.
The take away used to be the best in Blyth, it must now be the worst
