Quick Facts About Fountain Cafe

The Fountain Cafe has garnered positive feedback from customers, highlighting several strengths of the establishment. One of the recurring themes in the comments is the excellent service provided by the staff. Customers consistently mention the friendly nature of the employees and their willingness to provide advice and recommendations. The staff is described as lovely, warm, and welcoming, creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. The owner, in particular, is praised for his exceptional hospitality, making customers feel at home and adding a personal touch to their experience.
The quality of the food is also held in high regard. Many customers comment on the deliciousness of the meals, highlighting the fact that everything is cooked to order. Portion sizes are also mentioned as being generous, ensuring that customers leave satisfied. The Full Scottish breakfast is recommended as a must-try for tourists interested in sampling traditional Scottish cuisine. The menu options may be limited, but customers appreciate not having an overwhelming number of choices, as it allows them to focus on the quality of the dishes offered.
The affordability of the Fountain Cafe is another positive aspect mentioned by customers. Prices are described as being on point for the area, offering good value for money. This is particularly praised considering the cafe's proximity to the Hilton Hampton hotel, as customers were glad they chose to eat at the cafe instead of opting for the hotel breakfast. The affordability, combined with the quality of the food and service, makes it an attractive option for customers looking for a satisfying and reasonably priced meal.
The cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the cafe is frequently mentioned in the comments. Customers appreciate the small, intimate space that evokes a feeling of being at home. The ambiance is described as cute and cozy, and the cafe is said to have a nostalgic feeling reminiscent of being taken care of by a parent or loved one. This creates a comfortable and relaxed environment for customers to enjoy their meal.
However, there are a few weaknesses that can be inferred from the comments. One customer mentioned that the service was a little slow, but attributed it to the large number of people ordering full breakfasts. This suggests that the cafe may struggle with handling busy periods efficiently, leading to potentially longer wait times for customers. Additionally, the limited menu options may not suit individuals who prefer a wider variety of choices when dining out.
In conclusion, the Fountain Cafe appears to have several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. These include excellent service, delicious food, reasonable prices, and a cozy atmosphere. However, potential weaknesses could include slower service during busy periods and a limited menu selection. Overall, the positive comments outweigh the negative, indicating that the Fountain Cafe is a highly recommended place to enjoy a satisfying breakfast in Edinburgh.

Best TL Reviews

Top top,
War mit Familie hier.
Kommen wieder
Located right next to our Hilton Hampton hotel we are glad we skipped the hotel breakfast and came here. The place was very busy and we shared a table with a gentleman but it was a nice friendly experience where most people interacted anyway. While here a LGBT couple walked in and were treated the same as everyone else which is great to see. The service was a little slow but we expected it when 10 people were all ordering full breakfasts. Price is on point for the area.
Cute and cozy, everything cooked to order, and the staff are lovely! Delicious coffees, good size portions, and very good prices. Definitely the best way to start your day in Edinburgh!
Ended up here by accident. Staff were super friendly, gave sensible advice. The salmon/egg satisfying. Would recommend if you are in this area and need a quick filling breakfast!
This was a very nice experience for breakfast.
To sart off, the place is small, and it might not be the best if you show up with 10 people, but for a couple or group of 4-5, it is perfect. It has a nice in-house feeling, making it feel like you're a kid again, and mom is in the kitchen cooking for you.
Service was very fun, the 1st person to meet you is a very iconic Australian lady who gives off warm family vibes when you show up. She does have a way of teasing that may be misunderstood if you're having a bad day, again, just like family. But I can say I felt like she loves what she does, and some of the regulars have se amazing rapport with her and the owner.
The food doesn't have many choices, but as a tourist, having too much to choose from can turn into a nightmare of should have, would have, could have. The "Full Scottish" is a dish they have that covers the basics of traditional Scottish food, so it is a must when you are curious about what traditional Scottish food is like. The portions are big and very tasty.
Drinks are very good as well. I would definitely recommend the mocha and the Latte (do yourself a favor and add vanilla flavor if you like vanilla).
Overall, small joint. Cozy home away from home vibes. Great portions, nice drinks. Would eat again.
Delicious food, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere. It was lovely. I was defeated by the full Scottish, but it was worth me trying! I'll definitely go back when we're in Edinburgh again.
