Quick Facts About Nana African Hair Braiding

Nana African Hair Braiding has received a mix of positive and negative comments from customers. To evaluate its strengths and weaknesses, it is important to consider the recurring themes in these comments.
One of the strengths mentioned by customers is the friendliness of the staff. Multiple customers mentioned that the staff was nice and pleasant to interact with. This positive customer service experience can contribute to creating a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere for customers.
Another strength is the quality of the braids. Some customers praised the overall quality of the braids, mentioning that they were satisfied with how their hair looked after the braiding service. Customers appreciate the skill and expertise of the braiders, highlighting their ability to detangle hair and create beautiful hairstyles.
The speed of service is also mentioned as a strength by some customers. These customers had their hair done quickly and efficiently, which is a positive aspect for those who value a swift and timely service.
In terms of weaknesses, one recurring issue is the lack of attention to detail. One customer mentioned that their braids weren't done tightly, leading to them coming out after a short period of time. Another customer highlighted that their stylist failed to pull the hair around their ears into the braid, resulting in an unsatisfactory end result. These comments suggest that there may be inconsistencies in the level of skill and attention to detail among the stylists at Nana African Hair Braiding.
Another weakness identified by customers is the lack of organization and professionalism. Multiple customers mentioned instances where appointments were not kept or not properly recorded, leading to scheduling conflicts and long waits. This lack of organization can create frustration and inconvenience for customers.
Some customers also expressed disappointment with the rough handling of their hair by the stylists. One customer mentioned that the stylist seemed upset about their thick hair and deliberately braided it tightly and roughly, causing pain and discomfort. This suggests a lack of sensitivity and consideration for the customer's comfort during the braiding process.
Additionally, the inability to accept card payments was mentioned as a weakness by one customer. In today's digital age, many customers prefer the convenience of electronic payments, and the inability to accommodate this preference may deter potential customers.
Based on the feedback provided, Nana African Hair Braiding has strengths in terms of friendly staff, quality of braids, and efficient service. However, weaknesses include inconsistencies in attention to detail, lack of organization, rough handling of hair, and the inability to accept card payments. These weaknesses may need to be addressed in order to improve the overall customer experience and reputation of the salon.

Staff was very nice. But my braids weren't done tight. And after 5 days they started coming out in the back now the sides. It's only been a week and 5 days.
I last visited 3 years ago before my visit today. I was satisfied then and I'm satisfied now! She took about 2 hours to do my hair. I walked in and got straight in the chair! I absolutely LOVE my hair!
I don't trust too many people to take my weave out but I trust them. They take their time and make sure to detangle my hair bit by bit.
This was my first time visiting Nanas today by recommendation of someone I know. I was told to come at 2pm but wasn't called until after 3:15pm. 3 other clients showed up and was also told 2 pm. I had to wait longer after someone that showed after me because another stylist apparently was the only one who could do feed in cornrows. I originally asked for stitch braid cornrows but everyone claimed they didnt know how to do them. Sigh, Okay fine. The stylist could not understand me so I had to communicate thru another stylist. She failed to pull the hair around my ears into the braid, it is too tight after I asked for it not to be, and the ends she blunt cut instead of pulling the hair before applying to my head. I am so upset and highly disappointed because I feel like I wasted my time and money. They dont even take cards here. I will not be coming back and will be letting everyone I know not to come here. This was not a good experience. I advise the owner to hire experienced hairdressers and keep up with the current trends.
I waited 40 minutes because the braiders overslept. When they arrived (40 minutes late), I was told that the woman that was supposed to braid my hair called out sick. At that point, they were trying to convince me to get another hair style that I did not want because there was a braider there that could only do that one hairstyle. I left because I made an appointment a week prior and I wanted my hair done with the style I told them over the phone. I left there frustrated that I had just waited 40 minutes for nothing, I was able to find another braider at the last minute who could do the exact style that I wanted. I will not be returning to this establishment and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. My time was wasted and they are extremely unreliable.
The quality of the braids are the best I have found in the tri-cities. They are quick too, at least those that have done my hair. The prices are fair too. The only reason it is not 5 stars is that the person that braids your hair is not always on time and personally I think that should be avoided. I also noticed that appointments are not written down and saw other people with scheduling conflicts. I suggest scheduling first thing in the morning and arriving early. The ladies were pleasant and did great work. I definitely will be supporting this business more.
It took 2 whole days to finish my hair. I was told to come to the shop at 2 to finish and arrived and nobody could finish my hair. I was then offered 50$ refund after paying 200$ to get box braids. I will never ever recommend or get my hair done by these ppl ! The service sucks! I have pictures of the terrible work they did on my head !
I have visited this salon twice. I loved my hair each time. But, on my second visit I was disappointed. First of all, I went on a Friday evening around 5:30pm. I waited over an hour for her to finish someone’s hair, but that is usual with shops like this so I wasn’t too disappointed about that. When she finally started on my hair, she told me that my hair was “too thick” and that the style wouldn’t look right on natural hair. My thing is that if you call yourself an african shop then you should be able to do all hair types no matter how “thick” a clients’ hair is. She made me blow out my hair again, even though I had previously blown it out before I arrived at the shop. Then she finally began to work on my hair. She was being so rough. I felt like she was pulling my hair out, and I think she was being rough intentionally because I have super thick natural hair and she seemed upset that it was so thick. She continued to braid my hair really tight and she still was being rough even though she saw that I was in pain. I never had someone to be that rough on my hair, not even the first time I visited. I still liked how my hair came out in the end and the price wasn’t bad. The stylist was just too rough.
