On the other hand, there are some weaknesses that have been mentioned in the comments. One weakness highlighted by a customer is that the tagliatelle had excessive sauce, making it resemble a soup. Another weakness mentioned by a customer is the pale chips, which were considered underwhelming.
Furthermore, one customer notes that the restaurant felt a bit underwhelming overall, despite hearing good reviews. This suggests that the restaurant may not consistently live up to customer expectations, potentially indicating a lack of consistency in the quality of food or experience. Additionally, the customer mentions that the restaurant was a little too dark, which could be seen as a drawback for some guests who prefer well-lit dining spaces.
There is also a comment mentioning that the cleanliness of the restaurant was not up to standard. It is stated that menus had old food on them and the entire place needed cleaning. This raises concerns about the hygiene and overall cleanliness of the venue, which can be perceived as a weakness.
Despite these weaknesses, Pinocchio House still receives positive feedback overall. Many customers highlight the loyal customer base and the presence of repeat customers, indicating that the restaurant has built a strong reputation over the years. The food is consistently praised for being generous and satisfying, and the staff are noted to be wonderful and friendly. The food is generally well-received, with specific dishes such as peppered steak, garlic bread, and calzone being mentioned positively. However, there are some weaknesses such as excessive sauce in certain dishes, underwhelming starters, pale chips, and concerns about cleanliness. Despite these weaknesses, the overall positive feedback suggests that Pinocchio House offers a welcoming and satisfying dining experience to its customers.
Best TL Reviews
Very friendly staff and good service. Great decor and atmosphere. Big starter portions. The tagliatelle had a lot of sauce which made it alike to a soup. The pizza is good (tomato-ey). I enjoyed my peppered steak and left a clean plate. The 3 desserts our group had were alright, but nothing special.
Beautiful little restaurant with real, satisfying and delicious Italian food.
The meals were cooked fresh, and served piping hot at the table.
And the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The menu states "vegetarian options on request" and actually meant anything on the menu apart from a small number of items can be made vegetarian!
Went with our family after hearing good reviews, but came back feeling a bit underwhelmed. Nice setting if a little too dark, but that's by the by.
Ordered the stuffed mushrooms to start with, not impressed at all but the salad accompanying it was nice and fresh. Main meal was peppered steak which was very nice and the sauce as well, chips disappointing, too pale for me. Not bad overall but was expecting better.
I've not been here for a few years. I have never had a bad meal here. The garlic bread is good and the calzone was excellent.
The restaurant itself is intimate, it's a little dated but in a good way. It certainly works well.
Some people don't like how close the tables are but it's never been a problem for me.
We've always enjoyed the house wine. Staff wonderful and very friendly. I've never felt rushed whilst eating but this might be because we've always booked a late table.
Really great little place that's most definitely off the beaten track. Kind of hard to spot but worth the effort. Loyal customers and awesome staff. The food might not be what you'd expect from an Italian place at the minute but it is superb and generously portioned. The throng of repeat customers (with postcards up on the walls) says it all.
If you're in the mood for a welcoming, cozy, traditional Italian meal, you cannot lose.
Good wholesome food, great value for money. Wonderful 1970s decor and great, welcoming staff. Eaten here since 1975. Fabulous place. Only drawback, is the stairs!
Quirky place with loads character, delicious food, lovely owner who made us feel very welcome. Plenty of options for our veggie friends. Great for both family's & couples for a lovely evening out at very reasonable prices. One of our favourite places to go for absolute certain.
Disappointed, needed a good clean ie menu's old food on them. The whole place needed cleaning... food below average, warm atmosphere friendly, shame the food was more than poor.
