Quick Facts About Port O Call

Port O Call is a restaurant that offers hearty and delicious meals. One of the strengths of this place is its food - it has been praised multiple times for serving tasty and well-prepared meals. The commenter who tried the gammon roast dinner described it as amazing, with fresh vegetables, lots of gravy, and a Yorkshire pudding. Another commenter mentioned having a slow-cooked steak in red wine gravy that was delightful. These positive reviews indicate that the food at Port O Call is flavorful and satisfying.
Another strength of Port O Call is its pricing. Commenters have consistently mentioned that the prices are reasonable and good value for money. One person even mentioned that they had a proper home-cooked meal at a reasonable price, which can be difficult to find when traveling. This affordability makes Port O Call an attractive option for customers looking to enjoy a good meal without breaking the bank.
The staff at Port O Call also receive praise for their friendliness and hard work. Several commenters mentioned the friendly atmosphere and the welcoming attitude of the staff. This positive customer service experience adds to the overall appeal of dining at Port O Call. Additionally, the fact that the restaurant is dog-friendly is seen as a bonus by one commenter, highlighting the inclusivity of the establishment.
On the other hand, there are a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One person felt a bit awkward looking at the chalkboard menus that were located behind other diners, as it made them feel like they were invading their privacy. They suggested having menus on the table as an improvement. While this was not a major issue for them since they already knew what they wanted, it could be a potential source of discomfort for other diners who prefer to peruse a menu before deciding on their order.
Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall consensus from the comments is that Port O Call is a great place to dine. The positive reviews regarding the food, pricing, and staff outnumber the minor criticism. The strengths of Port O Call, such as the delicious and hearty meals, reasonable prices, and friendly staff, are what keep customers returning for more. Whether it's a Sunday roast or a weekday lunch, Port O Call seems to deliver a satisfying dining experience.

Best TL Reviews

We've been wanting to try this place during our week's holiday staying at RWY and finally on our last day we did,I wish we would have gone in sooner as I'm sure we would have eaten there most days. It was a Sunday lunchtime and every seat filled but dropped lucky as a family left just as we arrived. The lady thoroughly cleaned our table and we ordered and paid at the counter which we liked as I absolutely hate asking for the bill at the end of a meal so it was nice to be all paid up straight from the off although I understand some people like to pay after but this personally worked for us. They had run out of chicken which was fine so I had a large gammon roast dinner which was amazing! Fresh veg, loads of gravy and a yorkie! What more can you want from a Sunday lunch! I personally felt a bit awkward looking at the chalkboard menus that were situated behind other diners as I felt like I was looking at their food so a menu on the table would have been great but not enough to knock off a star. Also we knew we wanted a roast dinner so this wasn't really an issue. Overall we had a great experience here and the staff work really hard which I can appreciate as I have worked for many years in a small busy cafe. Well done Port O call! ????
My colleagues and I all love this place and come down for lunch quite often.
Food is hearty and I appreciate the vegetables. Really a square meal that will make you happy and see you through the day. Plus can take large portion, or a small portion, so you won’t go hungry.
The price is right and all together keeps us coming back.
First time nice friendly staff, the food was nice , will I go back yeah I will thankyou, clean and decent food
I was staying in b&b down the road. I called in at 6 pm one night. What a gem. I work away from home so it’s hard to get a proper home cooked meal, at a reasonable price. I had slow cooked steak in read wine gravy. Absolutely delightful. We’ll done ladies.
Friendly staff, very nice and tasty full English breakfast. And bonus is -dog friendly too.
Great Sunday lunch. Hot and really good value for money. Thanks
Found this lovely cafe while wondering round Plymouth, it had a lovely friendly atmospher. Only had a coffee but the food looked tasty, fresh veg Yorkshire puddings, choice of meats and very reasonablly priced
I popped in on the strength of the reviews. I'm so glad I did! Had a large roast pork dinner with homemade yorky and stuffing. Loads of gravy, it was delicious ???? will be back!
