Quick Facts About Rose & Crown Inn

Strengths:
1. Friendly and welcoming atmosphere: Multiple comments highlight the friendliness of the staff and the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the pub. This is a key strength as it creates a positive experience for customers and encourages repeat visits.
2. Accommodating and generous: The new managers are praised for being accommodating and generous, particularly towards customers with boats. This shows a willingness to go the extra mile to meet customer needs and enhance their experience.
3. Good food and portion sizes: The quality of the food is praised, with specific mention of the steaks being of high quality and generous portion sizes. This is an important strength as it indicates that the pub offers satisfying and enjoyable meals.
4. Excellent service: Comments highlight the attentive and helpful service provided by the staff. This is a strength as it ensures that customers feel well taken care of and leaves a positive impression of the pub.
5. Beautiful location: The pub is located by the river, offering a picturesque view for customers. This adds to the overall ambiance and attractiveness of the establishment.
Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistent service: One negative review mentions a wait for food and drinks, as well as staff members not being attentive. This indicates that there may be inconsistencies in the level of service provided, which can negatively impact the overall customer experience.
2. Quality control issues: The negative review also mentions issues with the food, including a jacket potato being too hard and being charged for steaks that were never received. This suggests a lack of quality control in the kitchen, which can lead to dissatisfied customers.
3. Limited vegetarian options: One comment mentions that the pub has limited choices for vegetarians, with a menu that seems outdated. This is a weakness as it excludes a significant portion of potential customers who follow a vegetarian diet.
4. Shabby decor: Another review mentions the rustic and shabby decor of the pub, including the excessive use of fairy lights. While some customers may appreciate this style, others may find it unappealing or outdated.
5. Price: A comment mentions paying £10.50 for fish and chips, which some customers may consider to be expensive for a typical pub meal. This could deter price-sensitive customers from dining at the pub.
In conclusion, the Rose & Crown Inn has several strengths including a friendly atmosphere, accommodating staff, good food, and a beautiful location. However, there are weaknesses in terms of inconsistent service, quality control issues, limited vegetarian options, shabby decor, and potentially high prices. These areas should be addressed in order to maintain and improve the overall reputation and customer satisfaction of the pub.

Nice friendly pub and nice food and good Portion to
New managers really kind and helpful. We moored up with our boat last week and they were really accommodating and generous and oh my goodness their dog is so gorgeous! It's a lovely spot.
If I could leave no stars I would. We waited 20 mins after ordering to be told there was no steak. We only found out cause I went to bar to get a drink and I was told there. We then waited another 20 mins to order again as no one came over. I had to knock on the kitchen door and ask to order. The chef was laughing with the waitress who was just stood there eating. My daughters jacket potato came out rock hard. I told the waitress who said she would tell chef. We waited to see if we would be offered another but no one came. So we shared our meal with our daughter. We asked for the bill and I’m glad I checked. We were charged for 2 steaks that never turned up! Would not recommend. It was so much better with the last people who ran the place. Never had a bad meal in there till now. Better the devil you know.
Popped in for the use of the toilet on way from airport, felt cheeky but was greeted with a lovely smile from the new managers, thank you so much and I wish you well with your new venture, I'm sure you will make a brilliant go off it.
Possibly the friendliest pub ever
We hadn’t planned on calling in at a pub but after a lovely walk we stopped on chance. We didn’t have masks but the staff kindly provided us with one each so that we could order and use indoor facilities if needed.
We enjoyed our drinks sitting by the side of the river watching the world go by. Staff were lovely and attentive, provided water and treats for our puppy.
Beer was also good - shame we were just passing through as the food also looked great
Brilliant local boozer on the canal, with a secret weapon: the quality of their steaks (both cuts and chef).
Generous portions off a pretty standard bar menu (steak, steak pie, steak sandwich, mixed grill etc), and perfectly executed.
Not really for vegetarians (1980's style limited choice) and decor on the shabby / rustic side with a thousand fairy lights over the top.
A great walkers' refuelling point.
Great place to stop for good choice of ales and open fire
Food OK normal pub meal nice out side area inside nice paid around 10.50 for fish and chips would go again when passing on our boat
