Quick Facts About Samarkand
Samarkand Place is a restaurant that has various strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. Starting with the strengths, the first comment highlights that the food at Samarkand Place is spot on. It is praised for its authenticity and flavor. The fact that the commenter's family holidays in India suggests that they have experience and knowledge about Indian cuisine, making their positive review more credible. This comment indicates that the strength of Samarkand Place lies in its ability to provide high-quality, authentic dishes.
Another strength mentioned is the reasonable prices of the restaurant. Affordability is a key factor for many customers when choosing a restaurant, and the fact that Samarkand Place offers reasonable prices makes it an attractive option. This aspect is likely to contribute to its loyal customer base, as mentioned in one of the comments. The combination of great food and reasonable prices can create a positive dining experience and encourage customers to return.
Additionally, the staff at Samarkand Place are described as friendly in one of the comments. Friendly staff can greatly enhance the overall dining experience, making customers feel welcome and valued. Good customer service can lead to positive word-of-mouth and repeat visits.
One unique aspect of Samarkand Place is that it does not have a beer license. However, customers are allowed to bring their own alcoholic beverages. While this may be seen as a weakness for some, it can also be viewed as a strength as it allows customers to enjoy their preferred drinks without restrictions. This flexibility may appeal to customers who have specific preferences for alcoholic beverages.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one comment expresses disappointment with the quality of the curries at Samarkand Place. The commenter finds the meat to be tough and the curries to be lacking in flavor and consistency. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the food quality and a lack of attention to detail in terms of seasoning and cooking techniques. This weakness could potentially negatively impact the overall dining experience and result in customers seeking out other Indian restaurants in the area.
Another weakness mentioned is the lack of variety on the menu. While some commenters appreciate the consistent and reliable dishes available, others may find it limiting and repetitive. A lack of variety can be off-putting for customers who are looking for new and exciting options, especially if they are regular visitors to the restaurant.
In terms of delivery service, one comment mentions that the food was received promptly through Uber Eats. This suggests that Samarkand Place offers a convenient delivery option for customers who prefer to dine at home. However, it is not specified whether this delivery service is available for all areas or only a limited range. If the service is limited, it could be seen as a weakness, as it may exclude potential customers who are located further away.
Overall, Samarkand Place has several strengths, including great-tasting food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and the option to bring your own alcoholic beverages. However, it also has weaknesses, such as inconsistent food quality, a lack of variety on the menu, and potentially limited delivery options. It is important for the restaurant to address these weaknesses and build on its strengths to maintain its loyal customer base and attract new customers.

My family & I love this restaurant, the food is spot on and as a family that holiday in India we know a thing or two about curry’s. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly.
It does not have a beer license but that is OK as you can take your own alcoholic beverages
Brilliant, brilliant and more brilliant. Been going for yonks and never let's you down. Lovely people. The smaller family restaurants are always the best!
Really tasty food, very flavourful and arrived promptly via Uber eats. Would definitely order again!
Had a lovely meal and was able to have a catch up my brother in this a calm relaxed restaurant on a Thursday evening.
Ordered for the first time on Saturday, I was blown away by the quality of the food. The delivery was received within 30 mins ordering (via UberEats.)
Firstly, I received free poppadoms with my order, unsure if this is common practice but combined with the dips it was a great starter.
Pilau rice and chicken korma was sublime, the portions or not massive but they’re definitely big enough and filled me up. For a chicken korma it was perfectly seasoned with spices, the sauce was thick, the perfect texture.
This place is definitely going to be my go to Indian, thank you so much for a great experience!
Wow! Massively overrated, I am actually quite shocked at how poor quality both our curries were from such a place that's been there for years and has such a loyal following, im not sure if any of them have tried curries from other places in Heckmondwike but it's not hard to find a better one. The meat in curry was so tough it had to be cut into small pieces to be chewed, and I'm not a pensioner! The only plus side was the chicken was quite nice in my wife. Both were very untradtional in flavour and consistency and swimming in water when put on plates to eat. Given 2 stars instead of one because it did come quickly, but won't order here again, also quite expensive for what it is.
The menu rarely changes, which is fine, cos the dishes available are always spot on
Always perfect! Delicious. The chicken melts in your mouth. Definitely the best around
