Quick Facts About Sanford Barber Shop
Sanford Barber Shop is a well-established barber shop in Sanford, with one barber who has over 60 years of experience. However, based on the comments provided, there are some clear strengths and weaknesses that can be analyzed.
Starting with the strengths, it is clear that some customers have had positive experiences at the barber shop. One customer mentions that they have been going to Otto's Barber Shop for the past 5-6 years and were glad to hear that one of their favorite barbers, Shawn, was now working at Sanford Barber Shop. This shows that there is a level of loyalty and trust towards the barbers working at the shop.
Another strength mentioned by a different customer is the old-school, traditional barber shop feel. They specifically appreciate that it is not one of the trendy, overpriced places that try to mimic the old-school style. This suggests that Sanford Barber Shop has managed to maintain an authentic atmosphere, which could be appealing to customers who are looking for a genuine barbershop experience.
Additionally, there are positive comments about specific barbers at Sanford Barber Shop. Customers mention that Dante and Shawn have provided excellent services and delivered great haircuts. This suggests that there are skilled barbers working at the shop who can meet the needs and preferences of their customers.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one customer had a negative experience with an older barber who claimed to have been cutting hair for over 60 years. They requested a skinfade haircut but were disappointed with the result. The back of the haircut was neglected and longer than the sides, and the barber did not show them the back with a mirror. This highlights a lack of attention to detail and customer satisfaction, which can be a significant weakness for a barber shop.
Another weakness mentioned by a customer is the lack of electronic payment options. They were caught off guard when they realized the barber did not accept bank cards, but luckily another barber was able to process the payment using a cell phone. This suggests a potential inconvenience for customers who prefer to pay electronically, and it could deter them from returning to the shop.
It is also worth noting that one customer mentioned that they were from out of town and stumbled upon Sanford Barber Shop while strolling through downtown. They were happy with their haircut experience, but they also mentioned that they forgot the barber's name. This suggests that there may not be a strong focus on building customer relationships and ensuring that customers remember the names of the barbers they interact with.
Overall, Sanford Barber Shop has some strengths such as loyal customers, a traditional barber shop feel, and talented barbers who can provide excellent service. However, there are also weaknesses such as inconsistent quality of haircuts, limited payment options, and a potential lack of focus on building customer relationships. Improving in these areas could help Sanford Barber Shop attract and retain more customers.

Horrible haircut by an older gentleman who has been "cutting hair for over 60 years". I asked for a SKINfade, what I got was a high fade from side view but the back was just kinda neglected and longer than the sides? When he was finished he didn't even show me the back with a mirror, but that wasn't necessary since it was so bad I could see the back from the front view. I smiled, tipped $7 on my $25 "skinfade" and immediately left, called and had my sister fix my hair. While I could have perhaps asked the barber to do so, he already showed me what he was capable of and I did not want to end up buzzing my entire head. I thought this location would be great because it's been around so long, great reviews, fair prices and even my barber had apparently been cutting hair for over 60 years but boy was I let down. Sanford Barber shop Never again. Go elsewhere if you're looking for a skinfade.
I've been going to Otto's barber shop in Sanford for the past 5 -6 years, until I walked in back in September only to be told it was the last day of business and I received my final haircut from the establishment. However, I was glad to hear that one of my favorite barbers at Otto's, Shawn, was going to be working at Sanford Barber Shop. I finally made it in today and was glad to see the familiar face. The shop itself is an actual old school, traditional barber shop. Not one of the ever so trendy "faux" old Dapper Dan, exuberantly overpriced, pretend ol' skool places that plagues the downtowns of America(I'm honestly not talking about any establishment in general). Keep in mind a simple, traditional hair cut isn't new science, so it shouldn't be treated and charged like it is one. Anyway, Shawn had me in his chair within in 15 min upon my arrival. I wear a mild pompadour and Shawn shaped it back into place perfectly with just a short description of my preferences. He really did an amazing job, like he always has, and I sure am glad he found a new home at the Sanford Barber Shop!
Dante was the dude doing haircuts. Very professional, super friendly, and did a nice skin fade for me! Reasonably priced, nice shop, honestly really impressed with my first cut there. Thanks Dante!
Great shop with old time barbershop feel. Shawn does a superb job. I highly recommend him.
Walked in without an appointment the Saturday before school started and waited only a few minutes. Caught off guard by the fact that the barber did not accept bank cards but when I sent my son to find his mother for cash, a second barber produced a cell phone and processed the payment. At $20 for a 13-year-old student cut I wouldn't have tipped with cash but being able to pay electronically allowed me the flexibility to do so.
My husband and I went to downtown today so he could get his hair and beard trimmed, and we were so happy to see this barber shop open on a Sunday! Dante cut his hair and it looks amazing. We all had a great conversation too. My husband has now found his preferred barber!
I'm from out of town and we were just strolling thorough when we spotted the place. I was overdue for a haircut, so I gave them a try. I forgot the young man's name already (because I'm not a young man) but he delivered a great haircut as well as great experience!
Walked in on a Saturday and instantly got a fresh cut. I had no idea what I wanted and Dante was able to guide me to a decision. Enjoyed the friendly conversation, excellent service, and classic aesthetic.
