Quick Facts About Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde
Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde is a place that has received mixed reviews from customers. While some appreciate the cleanliness, value for money, and friendly staff, others have expressed dissatisfaction with certain aspects of their experience.
One of the strengths of Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde is its cleanliness. Many commenters have mentioned that the establishment is very clean, including the toilets. This is an important factor for customers as it contributes to the overall impression of the place and ensures a pleasant dining experience.
Another strength is that Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde is licensed and serves beer and wine by the glass and bottle. This allows customers to enjoy a drink with their meal, enhancing their dining experience and providing more options for beverage choices.
Value for money is also mentioned as a strength by several customers. One commenter highlights the mini meal deal for only £7.00, which includes fish, mushy peas, bread and butter, and a pot of tea. Another customer mentions the large fish and chips option for £9.95, which includes unlimited chips and two good-sized fish portions. These offers provide customers with satisfying meals at affordable prices.
Additionally, some customers appreciate the helpful and friendly staff at Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde. One customer mentions that the staff went out of their way to help, while another customer states that the service for their takeaway order was good. Friendly and attentive staff contribute to a positive overall dining experience for customers.
However, there are also weaknesses that have been mentioned by customers. One customer expresses disappointment with the texture and thickness of the chips, feeling like they were not up to par with typical chippy chips. Another customer mentions that the gravy was too thick and felt like glue, making it difficult to pour over their meal.
Another weakness stated by a customer is that the food was not particularly special or memorable. While it was deemed okay and good value for money, there was nothing that stood out as exceptional or worth making a special trip for.
Furthermore, one customer mentions that the small helping of food was served on a plate that barely fit the serving, making it difficult to eat comfortably without accidentally pushing anything off the plate. This suggests that the portion sizes might be inconsistent or that there could be a lack of mid-sized plates available.
In conclusion, Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde has strengths in terms of cleanliness, value for money, and friendly staff. However, weaknesses have been identified in the texture and thickness of the chips, the thickness of the gravy, and the lack of special or memorable qualities in the food. Additionally, there may be a need for mid-sized plates to improve the overall dining experience. Overall, Seniors Poulton-le-Fylde provides affordable meals in a clean environment with attentive staff, but there are areas that could be improved upon to enhance the overall dining experience and make it more memorable.
Best TL Reviews
Went for late lunch Thursday afternoon early February. Place was very clean. Had to use the toilets and the gents were spotless even if floor a tiny bit slippy as I think it had recently been mopped.
Establishment is licensed and serves beer and wine by the glass and bottle. I ordered the large Haddock and chips with bread and butter and a bottle of sparkling water. Based on the waitresses suggestion my brother went for the mini meal deal with cod as his choice of fish. This was only £7.00 and included mushy peas, a slice of bread and butter and a pot of tea.
Meals didn't take long to arrive. The fish on both meals was piping hot. I was disappointed with the chips. More to do with the texture rather than the taste. Plus they were a bit thin for chippy chips. And my large Haddock was two pieces rather than one big one. They were also on the thin side. I got a taste of my brothers mushy peas. They were good. And the bread was fresh, not stale or dried up like it had been left out all day. He enjoyed his and, for £7.00, have to say this was great value for money.
But for me there was a little something lacking. Everything was ok. There was nothing major wrong but it wasn't special or memorable. The place was clean. The set meal was great value for money, especially in these times, but there was nothing that said this is wow and worth an hours drive to visit again.
It's a good few years since we visited Seniors, so when friends suggested it after an afternoon in Ma Kelly's Station in Blackpool, we were happy to try it out again.
Small Haddock (lightly battered), chips, mushy peas, a slice of bread & butter, a very nice carton of Tartare sauce and of tea for £6 was excellent.
There was plenty on the plate, delicious too, all making it extremely good value. I couldn't have eaten more than was served. In fact three of us had the same, with the other one choosing the standard size option.
Only one little niggle....
A small helping doesn't necessarily need to be served on a plate that only just fits the serving on.
It just makes it more difficult to eat the food comfortably by having to avoid accidentally pushing anything off when cutting into the fish portion.
I know a large plate will make the portion appear smaller, but there has to be a mid-size plate available.
Saying that, we will certainly be visiting more often ????
Stumbled across this place on our way home from blackpool .
What a treat this place is the food is excellent and fantastic value .....4 of us chose large fish and chips in the sit down restaurant, £9.95 each with unlimited chips and we certainly didn't expect to get 2 good size fish on our plates , theres a choice of cod or haddock or both .
Would highly recommend here and will definitely return when we're back in the area
Seriously good fish and chips should be eaten as often as possible. Visit here a lot so what more is there to say. Great value and superb deals. Eat in or take away.
