We drove over an hour for a scheduled appointment. The woman was half hour late. Get to the shop then she states that she needed to go pick up her sister, leaving myself and my children alone in the shop which to me was very awkward and unprofessional. Granted she came back twenty minutes later with her sister and her two kids who were quite pleasant! I do agree with the hair style not being done tight enough in the front because in the same week my daughter's braids came out! Was going to go back for myself but it's not worth $180 for box braids that don't even last a week, and for someone who makes you wait well over your scheduled time! I'm going back to Joyce's in Bolingbrook, she is very professional and does it from her own home which is lovely by the way!
Shade braiding was prompt professional and very welcoming, her shop is peaceful and she has an awesome personality. She took time to explain how to care for my braids and even offered to assist me with taking the hair down. My hair was damaged from micros and she helping me strengthen my crown. I had a wonderful experience with the lemonade braids she completed for my birthday. I will continue to come back to her am I also encourage others to as well. Very talented braider
I needed an appointment for my hair to be done before my baby shower and called to see if they could get me in 2 days, and I was told they could actually get me in the same day I called...whenever I wanted! I came about an hour later and they got started right away. Took only about 90 minutes for some crochets. Both women were extremely nice to me and talked with me the entire time, and even offered products for my dry natural hair. I thought the store looked fine, and I really enjoyed my experience. They were very fairly priced ($80 for the crochets), my hair looks beautiful and was braided properly and quickly, so I have no complaints. Will definitely go again for more styles.
Shade and her sister both worked on my twists (I have a lot of natural hair) They were extremely professional, fast, friendly and open to my "white girl" questions. I've always wanted my hair twisted and they made this happen. Shade even took me to match my hair color with what to purchase, plus cute little clips. I'm so pleased with the outcome!! I will absolutely return!! I highly recommend Shade to anyone looking for African braids/hairstyles of any sorts, after all she was trained in Africa.
I got single braids done a week ago. Shade finished my hair in less than 4 hours. I washed my hair the night before and my shrinkage and tightness was no joke, Shade fixed that with Pink oil moisturizer. I love the way she cared for my hair because not all braiders will do that. This was my first but most definitely not my last time coming here, she was very professional and hospitable, love my hair.
She did my Senegalese twists EXACTLY as requested. I prefer mines twisted from the scalp and all of mines the same size... she did an amazing job and didn’t complain or seem frustrated with my desires. She’s very pleasant and does her best to make sure you’re comfortable. I HIGHLY suggest her!! I drive nearly an hour just so she can do my hair. ????????
I am so pleased with my experience this hair braiding shop! I traveled from Bloomington here because they are THAT good! Not only did they braid my hair beautifully but they got me done in HALF the time it usually takes! They are professional and friendly and they want you to be satisfied! I’m so happy that I found them! Shade is My only hair braiders from now on! Braiding is tight but not painful & the braids are all uniform and neat! I love my hair! Thanks again!
This is the first time that I have gotten my hair braided/twisted in over ten years and I must say that I was a bit nervous. Shade calmed all my concerns and was very professional. She did a wonderful job on my hair and as soon as I am able, I'll post a picture
Her rates are very reasonable and she provides the hair, which is quality grade hair from Nigeria. Go ahead, call her and make an appointment. She is the best!!!
