Quick Facts About Shoreham Beach

Shoreham Beach has several strengths that make it an attractive destination for visitors. One strength highlighted in the comments is the beautiful promenade for strolling. This allows visitors to enjoy a leisurely walk along the beachfront, taking in the scenic views and enjoying the fresh air. The well-made walkway is also mentioned, indicating that it is well-maintained and easy to navigate.
The beach itself is described as calm and pretty, providing a peaceful and relaxing environment. This is seen as a strength compared to the more crowded and busy Brighton beach. Visitors appreciate the tranquility and the opportunity to unwind in a less crowded setting.
The beach is also praised for its natural beauty. The pebble beach is said to be gorgeous, with flowing plants growing between the stones. This adds a picturesque element to the surroundings and enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the beach.
One of the strengths of Shoreham Beach is its long and wide stretch of sand. This provides ample space for beachgoers to spread out and enjoy their day without feeling cramped. Additionally, the beach is described as sandy when swimming out during low tide, making it more enjoyable for swimming and water activities.
The preservation area for beach plants and the presence of the Old Fort are also mentioned as strengths of Shoreham Beach. These historical and ecological elements add to the overall experience and provide points of interest for visitors.
Another strength mentioned is the availability of facilities and amenities. There are several cafes, bakeries, pubs, and shops near the Shoreham foot bridge, providing options for refreshments and shopping. This ensures that visitors have access to the necessary conveniences during their time at the beach.
With regards to safety, Shoreham Beach is praised for its adherence to social distancing measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. Visitors felt safe due to the good social distancing practices observed by most people. However, it is noted that not everyone was wearing masks, which could be seen as a weakness in terms of public health and safety.
Parking availability is also highlighted as a strength, with comments stating that it is easy to find parking near the beach. This makes it more convenient for visitors to access the beach without worrying about finding a parking spot.
Lastly, Shoreham Beach is well-suited for fishing, according to one comment. This presents an opportunity for anglers to engage in their hobby and enjoy the beach from a different perspective. Fishing enthusiasts will likely appreciate this feature of Shoreham Beach.
While Shoreham Beach has many strengths, there are a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One weakness is the pollution of the seas and rivers caused by water companies. This raises environmental concerns and detracts from the overall appeal of the beach.
Additionally, the presence of dog waste along the route is mentioned as a weakness. This not only creates an unattractive and unhygienic environment but also poses health risks for visitors and their pets.
In conclusion, Shoreham Beach has several strengths that make it a desirable destination. These include a beautiful promenade, a calm and pretty atmosphere, a well-made walkway, natural beauty, a long and wide stretch of beach, preservation areas, nearby amenities, good adherence to social distancing measures, and ample parking. However, there are also weaknesses, such as pollution and the presence of dog waste. Despite these drawbacks, Shoreham Beach seems to be a popular and enjoyable place to visit for relaxation, exercise, and outdoor activities.

Eine schöne Promenade zum spazieren☺☺☺☺
Had a walk around the Fort (car parking is free from 6pm) all the way down the boardwalk, to beach huts, on the beach.. then stopped on a bridge bit with a play park on the way back to watch some trains, the photos don't do the sunset justice.. very calm and pretty in the light.
Swans were out with their babies too ????
Nice calm place to get relaxed. Better than Brighton beach because it is much less crowded and peaceful.
Gorgeous place; a pebble beach with a well-made walkway that ends near the harbour inlet. Early July we found some beautiful flowing plans, growing quite happily between the stones. Beautiful.
Long wide stretch of beach. Beach stones but sandy when you swim out and low tide. Preservation area for beach plants and Old Fort at the harbour mouth. Shame this government is allowing the water companies to pollute our seas and rivers.
During Covid 19 I have been good following Government rules strictly. I stayed at home for 5 months. When the weather turned 23 degrees I could not resist going to the beach.
Went to Shoreham Beach hoping it will not be crowded.
At Shoreham beach I felt safe. There was good social distancing but not everyone was wearing a mask.
Children and adults were enjoying in the water. Some were kayaking, some were surfing, whilst others were relaxing. Two musketeers were hiding from the sun!
Enjoyed fish and chips at the beach which always tastes better than fish and chips in the city.
Had a lovely day out. A beach worth visiting. Not crowded, clean, safe and easy to park.
A brilliant walk, or run or exercise the dogs. Park near to Wide Water, Shoreham and head towards the harbour. Your find a Resin board walk on the beach. At the harbour their is an old fort dated 1847 and a memorial 1st world war one trench - learning center.
Plenty of dog waste and rubbish bins along the route.
Regardless of the weather a beautiful calming walk.
A short division towards Shoreham foot bridge and there are cafés, bakery's, pubs and shops.
Always good specially for fishing. Or just a walk. Have a wander and see for yourself. I do not think you will be disappointed.
