Quick Facts About St Josephs Tearoom
St. Josephs Tearoom has several strengths that make it a great place to visit. Firstly, the tea room is described as "lovely" and "homely," creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patrons. The staff is also commended for being friendly, accommodating, and hardworking, ensuring that the tearoom runs smoothly. This creates a positive impression and enhances the overall experience for customers.
The presence of a lovely open fire is another strength of St. Josephs Tearoom. This feature keeps the dining rooms warm, even on cold spring days. This creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a comfortable place to enjoy a meal or a cup of tea.
The food and drinks at St. Josephs Tearoom are also highly praised. The comments mention that the food is freshly prepared and absolutely lovely. This indicates that the tearoom prioritizes quality and takes pride in their menu offerings. The mention of scones, sandwiches, toasties, and cakes suggests that there is a diverse range of options available. Additionally, the tearoom also offers vegan choices, catering to different dietary preferences.
The presence of a craft shop on-site is another strength of St. Josephs Tearoom. Customers mention that there is a lot to choose from and that the prices are affordable. This adds an additional element to the overall experience, allowing for some shopping or browsing after enjoying a meal.
The tearoom's location near Mount St. Bernard Abbey is also a positive aspect. This proximity to a popular landmark may attract tourists or visitors to the area, increasing foot traffic and potential customers.
Despite these strengths, there are a few weaknesses that have been mentioned by customers. One comment mentions that the food and menu at St. Josephs Tearoom can be quite expensive. The mention of a £7 jacket potato with only one filling, which didn't seem like a large portion, suggests that the pricing might not be perceived as value for money by some customers.
Another comment mentions that the service at the tearoom was just okay and not the best. While this is not elaborated on further, it suggests that there might be room for improvement in terms of service quality and customer satisfaction.
In terms of location, one comment mentions that the tearoom was a little difficult to locate. Although the tearoom being a "hidden gem" might attract some adventurous customers, a difficult-to-find location could potentially deter potential visitors.
Overall, St. Josephs Tearoom has several strengths, such as its cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, delicious food and drinks, and the presence of a craft shop on-site. However, there are some weaknesses to consider, such as potentially high prices, average service quality, and a location that may be challenging for some to find. Despite these weaknesses, the positive aspects seem to outweigh the negatives, as many customers express a desire to return and recommend the tearoom to others.

A lovely homely tea room just down the road from Mount St. Bernard Abbey.
Nice friendly and accommodating staff clearly working hard to make it run smoothly.
Lovely open fire keeping the dining rooms toasty warm even on the coldest of spring days!!
The food & drinks are freshly prepared and were absolutely lovely!
Around the back is a craft shop too & on the day we called in a local craftsman was selling cut dried wood blanks ready for turning or other craft work.
We will definitely call back in.
Endroit paisible, chaleureux, parfait pour déguster des scones salés ou de bons gâteaux. Soit dans le jardin soit à l’intérieur joliment décoré. J’y ai même acheté un petit souvenir dans la boutique attenante :)
This place is a hidden gem ???? warm served scones, great vegan choices, ♥???? Fresh made food to order. Lovely, friendly staff and on some days its best to book as too many people are finding out about this lovely place ????????❤ Outside seating under an event marquee as well as indoor seating. If it's chilly they light the real fire ????
Food was quite expensive for what you got. Menu was overall quite expensive i felt. £7 for a jacket potato with one filling and you didnt get loads. Service was OK but not the best I felt. Sadly not sure I would come back here.
Super kind people. There were no spots left so we asked to take sandwiches away, but they found us a nice little table, then moved us to a bigger one. Everything was superb and the toasties are so tasty! Highly recommended place. Also the craft shop is unmissable - affordable prices and really creative items.
Just visited the tea rooms (March2023), was nice to get out as the snow finally disappeared.
We had the scones and coffee, which were very nice and reasonably priced (I attached the menu)
There is a good selection of drinks, sandwiches, cakes and toasties, my favourite being the scones.
It’s on the site of an old monastery and they sell has made crafts.
Definitely worth a visit, recommended.
A little difficult to locate but once found, it was all worth it. The bacon stack was sooo yummy!
Absolutely lovely as soon as we walked in we was made to feel really welcome it was clean bright and warm The food was devine and portion size was brilliant for such resonable prices and so much to choose from. My brother uses a mobility scooter and staff was very helpful in getting him seated. Also a lovely little craft shop inside with some beautiful items and such a polite friendly and helpful young lady who was serving. Will definitely be making another visit and will recommend to friends and family.
