Quick Facts About State Fayre Bakery & Coffee Shop

State Fayre Bakery & Coffee Shop seems to have received a mix of positive and negative comments, highlighting both strengths and weaknesses of the establishment. It is important to consider these comments in order to fully assess the strengths and weaknesses of the place.
Starting with the strengths, several customers have praised the friendliness and chattiness of the staff. They were described as helpful and provided excellent service. This is a valuable strength as it contributes to a positive customer experience and creates a welcoming atmosphere. The cleanliness of the establishment was also commended by customers, with the food being described as fresh. This is another important strength as it demonstrates a commitment to good hygiene practices and quality food.
In terms of the food, customers specifically mentioned the bagel and coffee as being excellent. Positive experiences with specific food items indicate that the bakery and coffee shop is capable of producing delicious and satisfying products. The fact that the place was recommended by someone and that a customer finally decided to visit after hearing positive reviews further supports the notion that the food is of high quality.
However, there are some weaknesses that customers have pointed out. One recurring issue seems to be the customer service provided by a certain staff member. Customers have described this individual as arrogant, cocky, and lacking in manners. Such negative experiences can significantly impact the overall customer satisfaction and deter them from returning. Another weakness mentioned is the decline in the quality of products, such as the cream cheese being described as rock solid and chalk-like in consistency. In addition, there were instances where customers encountered issues with collection times and the availability of certain products.
Furthermore, the response from the staff to customer complaints has also been criticized. Customers have mentioned that their concerns were not addressed properly, with little to no resolution offered. This lack of effective communication and problem-solving can create a negative perception of the establishment and leave customers feeling dissatisfied.
Overall, the strengths of State Fayre Bakery & Coffee Shop include friendly and chatty staff, fresh food, cleanliness, and positive word-of-mouth recommendations. These are important factors that contribute to a positive customer experience. However, the weaknesses, such as poor customer service, decline in product quality, and ineffective handling of complaints, can greatly impact customer satisfaction and loyalty. It is crucial for the establishment to address these weaknesses in order to maintain a strong reputation and ensure customer retention.

Visited today and couldn't have found the 2 ladies any nicer than what they were. Really friendly and chatty and the bagel was amazing as was the coffee. Was staying at a friend's for a week and kept meaning to pop in as it had been recommended. Glad I finally did
Very clean food is fresh this cafe shop is number one in my eyes for good food friendly service hygiene is very good second to none I would recommend this place to everyone
Ordered To Good To Go bag and a collection time was 12.45pm-1pm. This place should be open till 1pm on Sunday but when I have arrvied at 12.40 it was shut. Waited about 10minutes with 2 other people who also wanted to collect their bags but no luck.
Use to love this place till they hired an arrogant boy who works there often. Quality of products gone down hill especially the rock solid creme cheese :(
Not returning again as found a better option that's also local. They don't seem to want to resolve it as never reply to customers unless it's about parking
Won’t go again. Frozen cream cheese from the fridge the week before ( went in today to buy goods not to complain) however arrogant and cocky staff refused to sell me one of the 50 small pots in the counter as they were only for the deal even when there were none left in the regular fridge. I Explained then about previous problem but he still refused to sell. Staff words were that the cheese was frozen previously as we had a freezer malfunction and that I should have been made aware which I wasn’t. Also another member of staff said what would you like me to do about it. I said sell me a small tub as there was none in the fridge. Refused again so I said ok but I won’t return. Could have been so easily sorted but complete lack of customer service.
Just returned cream cheese the equivalent of chalk. Absolute disgusting, couldn’t get a knife through it never mind spread on a bagel, the cheese chipped off like i took a chisel to it . I returned and politely explained that the cream cheese was NOT the right consistency and that there was something wrong with it (never have i ever bought cream cheese as disgusting as this before, should not be sold). I politely asked for my money back, they responded no as we can not resell it due to covid, in which i responded it shouldn’t be sold in the first place. I asked to take a different product of the same value they said no. They told me no other customers have complained before (after reading reviews people have clearly complained online). I told them I am a customs i am complaining and never have i went it to a shop and complained about a product and not been given my money back (I rarely complain). I told them to sample the cream cheese, try and spread it, the boy responded “i’ve used that today put it on a bagel” i said fabulous sample mine infront of me and show me, he refused. The boy then responded in a very arrogant manner “the best i can do is apologise” I responded i don’t want an apology i want my c. £2.60 back. The girl and boy serving tried to fob me off said they’ll speak to the boss next time she’s in. I refused to leave until she rang the boss, which took 5 mins before she was prepared to make the call. Surprise surprise the boss agreed to give me a refund. When she came off the phone she was told to tell me that the cream cheese had not been “blessed by the rabbi because of covid” which is why it consisted that way. If it wasn’t right it should not be put on the shelf. I don’t care what a Rabbi does to it!
What a shame, they have just lost a customer for life over a pot of cream cheese and disgusting customer service by a couple of kids with no manners. (needless to say I had spent £25 with them today) No business can be arrogant enough to think that people will by from them with bad customer service and bad food. Especially during the pandemic, I like supporting local businesses but it’s sad to say that they have they’ve lost another customer.
Bought 4pk of scones looked lovely and fresh when we tasted them terrible bitter taste even with butter clotted cream jam so bitter I will return them disgusting
This place has plummeted since it changed hands , quality of produce is noticeably poorer and the woman who served me on Sunday couldn't have been more rude if she tried .....never visiting again.
