Quick Facts About Stop

Stop Place is a popular cafe that receives praise for its wide selection of teas, coffees, and other beverages, as well as its delicious homemade cakes. The staff is often described as pleasant and happy, providing friendly service to customers. Many patrons commend the cafe for serving the best flat white and homemade cake they have had in a while, with the coffee being strong and flavorful without any bitterness. The cake is also noted to be tasty and moist.
One of the strengths of Stop Place is its cozy and inviting atmosphere. It is described as a hidden gem in the heart of Shrewsbury, just a few steps from the Quarry. The service, food, and value for money are highly appreciated, with patrons enjoying the fact that everything is made fresh with quality ingredients. The cafe is praised for its commitment to being dog-friendly, providing bowls of water and gravy bones for furry companions. The availability of flatbread with goats cheese and caramelized onions and peppers is also mentioned as a positive aspect of the menu.
However, there are also some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One recurring complaint is the difficulty of accessing the cafe with a pram or pushchair. Some customers express disappointment that the staff does not offer assistance with the door or moving a chair despite observing the challenges faced by individuals with these items. This lack of accessibility may deter potential customers who require easy entry into the establishment.
Another weakness mentioned is the portion sizes of the lunch menu at the St Julian's Friars location. One commenter states that the flatbreads they ordered were tiny with very little filling, leaving them unsatisfied and feeling like they were overcharged for the meal. This indicates that the portion sizes may not be consistent across all locations, potentially leading to inconsistent customer experiences.
While the service is generally praised, one person mentions that the coffee was not great. This subjective criticism suggests that the quality of the coffee may vary, and some individuals may not find it to their liking. However, it is important to note that this is just one person's opinion among many positive comments regarding the coffee.
Furthermore, the cafe is commended for being a community space and a local hub where various groups gather. This indicates that Stop Place has successfully created an environment that fosters a sense of belonging and community engagement. However, it is not specified how this translates into a strength or weakness for the cafe, as the comment merely mentions the community aspect without elaborating on its impact on customer experiences.
In conclusion, Stop Place is a beloved cafe known for its wide selection of drinks, delicious homemade cakes, and friendly staff. The cafe's strengths lie in its cozy atmosphere, commitment to using fresh ingredients, and dog-friendly environment. However, some weaknesses include the lack of accessibility for customers with prams or pushchairs and inconsistent portion sizes at one location. Additionally, while the majority of customers praise the coffee, there is one comment stating dissatisfaction with its quality. Despite these shortcomings, Stop Place remains a popular destination for many due to its positive attributes.

Lovely little cafe with teas, coffees and other drinks. Cakes and a few chalkboard items dependant on time of day.
Pleasant happy staff.
Best flat white and home made cake I've had in ages. Friendly service. The coffee was strong and flavoursome but not bitter. The cake tasty and moist.
Always a nice cup of coffee but it's so difficult to get inside with a pram/pushchair. Also very disappointed that despite the fact staff see this, they never helps with the door or moving a chair.
Lovely coffee shop/cafe by the park and super dog friendly, which means a lot to us. Bowls of, dog water and a jar of gravy bones, thanks ladies! Enjoyed the flatbread too, with goats cheese and caramelised onions and peppers.
A hidden gem in the heart of Shrewsbury, a few steps from the Quarry.
Service, food & value for money are excellent!
Really enjoyed my visit here. It is so refreshing to find a cafe where all is made fresh with quality ingredients, friendly people in a very pleasant environment. Super impressed!
Posting for my wife. We have used the Stop Cafe in The Square regularly but decided to have lunch at the St Julian's Friars one today. I was shocked at how stingy the portions were. We ordered flatbread and they were tiny with very little filling - it felt a bit of a rip off for the price and we were still hungry.
Good community space and atmosphere, this place is clearly a local community hub and many groups use this as a local space.
Service was friendly, unfortunately the coffee wasn't great
Lovely staff and super dog friendly with dog biscuits, we loved that a lot. Nice and handy for the park in summer and autumn
