Quick Facts About Stray Cafe
The Stray Cafe, based on the comments provided, has several strengths that contribute to its positive reviews. Firstly, the quick service on Saturdays, despite being one of the busiest days, is a strength. Customers appreciate receiving their food in under 10 minutes, which demonstrates efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
Another strength of the cafe is the value for money. One customer mentioned that the food was less than £5 but worth more in their opinion. This indicates that the prices are reasonable and the quality of the food exceeds expectations.
The quality of the food itself is also highlighted as a strength. Customers praise specific menu items, such as the mushroom, ham, and mozzarella tostie, mentioning that it was amazing with perfectly cooked mushrooms and fresh salad. The variety of food options, ranging from cheese toasties to cakes and treats, is also mentioned as a positive aspect of the cafe.
The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is another strength. Customers appreciate the welcoming atmosphere and mention that the staff is fabulous. The fact that the cafe is dog-friendly and provides water bowls for dogs further enhances the positive customer experience.
The location of the cafe is also a strength. Situated right on the seafront, the cafe offers sweeping views of the North Sea and the coast of Saltburn. This contributes to the overall ambiance and enjoyment of the dining experience.
On the other hand, there are some weaknesses that should be addressed by the Stray Cafe. One customer mentions having the worst coffee in a long time, describing it as tasteless and primarily hot water and milk. This indicates that there may be inconsistencies in the quality of the coffee.
Additionally, some customers mention the lack of options for gluten-free individuals. This indicates a potential gap in catering to specific dietary requirements and could limit the customer base.
The use of polystyrene containers for take-away food is also mentioned as a weakness. One customer expresses disappointment in the environmental impact of polystyrene and suggests that the cafe should be more conscious and consider alternative, more sustainable packaging options.
Although the comments overall indicate a positive experience, there is room for improvement to enhance the overall customer satisfaction. Adapting to specific dietary requirements, improving coffee quality, and implementing sustainable practices in terms of packaging are areas that the Stray Cafe should address.
In conclusion, the Stray Cafe has several strengths including quick service, good value for money, high-quality food, friendly staff, and a beautiful location. However, there are weaknesses such as inconsistent coffee quality, limited gluten-free options, and the use of polystyrene containers that should be addressed for an enhanced customer experience.

Even though Saturdays are one of the busiest days i still got food in less than 10 minutes. Food was less than £5 and worth more in my opinion. The mushroom, ham and mozzarella tostie i bought was amazing; still warm, the mushroom fried and soft and the salad was crisp and fresh. Perfect for alone dining and super recommend!
Forgot to say, the staff here are all fabulous. It's dog friendly, there are water bowls out front at the tables for your dogs. Wether you just want a coffee or tea or a cream tea, the food is excellent, lunches and brunches. From a cheese toasties to chips and a fantastic dange of cakes and treats. You have got to give it a try. Oh you can fet a pretty decent ice cream here too
Excellent cappuccino and tasty bacon sandwich and sausage sandwich . Extensive menu but we opted for the basics .Brilliant place for a stop and a calorie intake after a brisk walk along the beach from Saltburn.
V friendly staff , very clean cafe.
This is a wonderful little cafe right on the sea front. It is a lovely place to sit on a sunny day and whether you sit inside or outside there are great views over the beach and towards the coast of Saltburn. The food is lovely and there is a good range of meals to choose from. I would definitely recommend this place.
Wonderful place! Sweeping views of the North Sea, friendly service and beautiful fresh food for amazing value. I had a delicious plate of lasagne, chips and salad, and it was fresh and tasty. Lovely place, and great experience. I would definitely return.
Worst coffee I have had in a long time today, I think it was hot water and milk, tasteless. Reviews say it is dog friendly, it is not. Dogs are only allowed outside the cafe, not nice in the winter. Did not see any options for Gluten Free. I am amazed it has good reviews, maybe people's expectation of a good coffee has declined. I would not waste my money here
I was disappointed to see polystyrene containers being used for take away food. I'd expect a business in such close proximity to the sea to be more aware of the environmental impact of polystyrene.
To avoid using any single use items we sat inside as we could see eat in diners being served meals and drinks in crockery. Unfortunately, there was a mix up and our drinks were served to us in disposables.
That said, the staff were friendly and the cafe has a great location by the beach for a good coffee following a walk. With reusable cups and plates, inside and out, The Stray would be a better place to visit.
Grand, it's a nice convenient place to rest with a drink or snack. It's kind of a checkpoint on walks as it's on the coast but not in town. The stuff is nice as far as I remember and so are the staff. I like the stray cafe
