Quick Facts About Susan's Nail Salon

Strengths:
1. Loyal customer base: The salon has customers who have been coming since they were teenagers and continue to support the business even after a change in ownership. This shows that they have built a strong reputation and provide good service.
2. Skilled and accommodating staff: Customers appreciate the work of Vee and Steve, who are praised for their attention to detail and ability to listen to customer preferences. The staff also accommodates schedules and are flexible with appointments, which adds to the convenience for customers.
3. Reasonable prices: Some customers find the prices at Susan's Nail Salon to be reasonable, especially for the quality of work provided. This can attract new customers who are looking for affordable options.
4. Family-owned business: Being a family-owned salon can create a sense of familiarity and personalized service. Customers appreciate the attention to detail and care shown by the owner, Bea.
Weaknesses:
1. Inconsistent customer experience: While some customers have a positive experience, others mention issues with the quality of work, such as gel being applied too thickly or nails getting infected. This inconsistency can lead to uncertainties for potential customers.
2. Outdated salon atmosphere: Multiple customers mention the salon's outdated and unclean appearance, including chewed-out computer chairs, a slouchy couch, and carpeting. This can negatively impact the overall customer experience and make it less inviting for potential customers.
3. Sanitation concerns: Some customers question the cleanliness of the salon and doubt the sanitary practices. This can raise concerns about the safety of the services provided and may discourage health-conscious customers from visiting.
4. Lack of transparency about appointments: Some customers mention being made to wait despite having appointments, as other customers with supposedly booked appointments are prioritized. This lack of transparency about the appointment system can lead to frustration and disappointment.
5. Limited art options: While Vee is praised for her skill in nail art, Steve admits to not being able to do extensive artwork. This limitation in the range of services offered can restrict the salon's appeal to customers looking for more intricate or creative nail designs.
To improve, Susan's Nail Salon should prioritize addressing the weaknesses mentioned above. Updating the salon's appearance, investing in better sanitation practices, and ensuring transparency about appointment policies can help enhance the overall customer experience. Additionally, offering more options for nail art and ensuring consistent quality of work can attract a wider range of customers and improve satisfaction levels.

I love this place I've been coming since I was 13 and I’m now 31! I became a loyal customer even after Vee and Steve took over because I love their work. Steve takes his time to listen to what you want and he literally tell you he can’t do too much art work but Vee Can and she’s amazing. Also Vee is the one who does pedicure and I love how she takes her time to make sure everything comes out perfect . Getting nails eyebrows eyelashes etc are a luxury so we need to prepare to pay for it and not get upset at pricing. Overall I’ll always recommend them. Thanks Vee and Steve for always accommodating me with my schedule ❤️
So my two stars are for how well the guy working there shapes. He shapes very well. Also they do stay a bit late and accommodate schedules/ are relatively flexible.
But they charge for callus removal as a separate item from pedicures which I find very bizarre. The salon itself is pretty gross with carpet / chewed out computer chairs for customers and a slouchy couch. I don’t find the atmosphere there very healthy; it needs serious TLC. Not sure how sanitary their products are or how well they clean or clean at all. I like them but honestly they need to improve or focus on customers experience when getting their nails done.
The pedicure took FOREVER and gel was laid on a bit thick. Wasn’t happy.
Getting your nails done now is soooo expensive, for the money I am looking for great nails as well as a great overall experience. And this place ain’t it.
My regular salon was booked so I decided to try Susan’s because it was near me. I did have to wait 15 mins but other than that, my nails turned out great. The guy working was so professional and on point with what he was doing. Their prices (at least for my manicure) was reasonable!!! Will be my go to salon from now on.
Bea the owner does an amazing job. She takes her time! Which I love!
I get done gel manicures & pedicures. I travel from Bayonne to Susan nails. Won’t go anywhere else. My nails could last up to 3 weeks & my toes up to a month. No walk in’s , appointments only.
I'd highly recommend this salon. It's a family owned nail salon and they do great work. Very detail oriented and they take their time.
I use to think they were good Untill A worker Did my Nails and I got a Nail Infection Suffered for 2 weeks and the only thing Boss Lady did was take off my Nail
The lady was very detailed, professional and very nice. It shows she cares about her work.
I wish I could give them zero stars the worst experience I've ever had in more than 20yrs going to nail salons. I posted pictures of how my nails look just 10 days after going over there. The guy that did my nails clearly had no idea what he was doing, I needed to soak my gel tips which afterwards I was told that they should have been soaked and peeled off by way of sanding down ,this man used a cuticle remover to take the gel off completely ruining my natural nails under. I will never go there again!! Oh by the way they let people ahead of you that supposedly have appointments that's something that they should mention before they have you sit there for hours!!
