If you get there right before 5pm and order the buffet you better load your plate. (BUT be prepared to eat food that probably sat out for hours! The mashed potatoes were dried to paste!) I was not sure if it was all-you-can-eat, and I only got a little bit of the better looking foods. So I was waiting for our waitress to ask before going back. She never came to check on us. The roast beef and lima beans were actually pretty good and I only took one slice of beef. I would have liked a little more food. But suddenly, the buffet we paid for got taken down and the seafood buffet was set up. No one checked on us to see if we were done before they started feverishly tearing it down and putting out seafood.
So, I was going to see if they had a decent dessert on their menu. But the locals came pouring through the doors as soon as the seafood came out and our waitress never came to check on us. My husband finally hunted our waitress down and asked if she could go to the register to pay the check. I had already given up and went to the car to walk our dog.
The worst service on our trip!
Driving through town in our motorhome with a big trailer attached we were looking for a place to stop for breakfast with a big lot. We passed Taste of Dixie and had to find a spot to turn around, and fortunately we did. This charming place thinks so much of their customers they put the pictures of them on their wall when they pass away. We strangers from the North were treated with the same respect. It is a sit where you want place but the large table in the center is reserved for the daily regulars that come and go and keep the table full. No menu is needed the cooks make what you want and they happily prepared a tasty diabetic breakfast for me. The coffee was hot and fresh and my cup was never empty. I encourage all to stop here for a fine meal. Sadly, I cant remember the name of the town but it is on Florida 98 on the way to Tallahassee.
I've gotta go back for the salad bar.. it looked pretty good. Prices are really good. Service was quick and warm. The food was good.. pork sandwich and salad. The bathroom was gross. I would go back again.
Great service, food and prices to go along with it. For the price of fast food you can have fresh food. The shrimp are fresh and the club was amazing. I didn't catch the waitress name but when you feel at home it doesn't matter.
When I first walked in I didn’t see any other customers so I was a bit skeptical, but boy am I glad I stayed. They have a decent buffet for a good price and the food is so so good. I haven’t even finished eating yet but its so good I already had to write a review
Was visiting from New Port Richey.
So we went to Taste of Dixie Diner.
Great choice...great service...very good food.
We will make the 2 hour drive again for the fried chicken.

Quaint mom and pop atmosphere diner. All the service trucks were in the parking lot; usually a good sign for good food. Buffet style eating plus menu options. Friendly staff. Food was great.
Hash browns were undercooked and cold, biscuits and gravy were like right out of the refrigerator cold. Server never one time came back to the table after she served the food! We actually just purchased our dogs a $45 breakfast. Never again.
