Quick Facts About Thai Spoon
Thai Spoon Place, based on the comments provided, has a mix of strengths and weaknesses. Let's explore them in detail below.
Starting with the strengths, one comment mentions that the red chicken curry and coconut rice were delicious and had the perfect spice level. This indicates that Thai Spoon Place is able to deliver flavorful and well-spiced dishes, catering to different preferences. Additionally, the portion size was sufficient for one person to enjoy over two days, suggesting that customers can expect generous portions for the price.
Another comment praises the friendly service and lovely atmosphere, highlighting that Thai Spoon Place is a welcoming place to dine. This positive feedback on the dining experience can make customers feel comfortable and satisfied during their visit.
Furthermore, one customer mentions that the restaurant offers gluten-free options without compromising on taste and authenticity. This is particularly valuable to those with gluten intolerance, as they often struggle to find suitable options at other establishments. Thai Spoon Place's ability to provide tasty gluten-free meals shows their commitment to catering to various dietary needs.
Another observation made by a customer is that there are good options for vegetarians. This indicates that Thai Spoon Place offers a variety of dishes to accommodate different dietary preferences and ensure that everyone can find something suitable on the menu.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one customer complained about the small portions and poor quality of food. They specifically mention paying £10 for a mixed starter plate, which they considered to be tiny and average in terms of taste. This suggests that Thai Spoon Place may need to improve their portion sizes and ensure that the quality of their dishes remains consistent.
There is also a comment about finding a chunk of meat in a tofu massaman curry, along with a strong taste of prawn. This implies that Thai Spoon Place may need to pay closer attention to food preparation and ensure that orders are accurately processed to avoid such mix-ups. Customers expect their dietary preferences and restrictions to be honored, so incidents like this can be disappointing.
Another customer reported that the fish cakes were chewy and the red curry lacked special flavors. They even compared it to making curry at home from a ready-made paste. This suggests that Thai Spoon Place may need to work on improving the texture of certain dishes and enhancing the flavors to create a more memorable dining experience.
Additionally, one customer noted that the service was slower than expected, and a server seemed inexperienced and unfamiliar with the menu. This indicates that Thai Spoon Place may need to provide better training to their staff to ensure efficient service and a thorough understanding of the menu offerings.
In conclusion, Thai Spoon Place has strengths such as delicious and well-spiced dishes, friendly service, a lovely atmosphere, gluten-free and vegetarian options, as well as reasonable prices. However, there are areas for improvement, including portion sizes, food quality consistency, accuracy in order preparation, flavor enhancement, service speed, and staff training.

Ordered a delivery first time and red chicken curry and coconut rice was delicious and perfect spice level for me. Enough portion for me to split it over two days.
Very small portions and poor quality food. We paid £10 for a mixed starter plate which I don't know how they have the nerve to serve for £10.00. Portion was absolutely tiny and very average. There are many other Thai restaurants to try for much better value for money. Would not use again, and please don't waste your time visiting!
The food tasted really good and the price was reasonable, however, in my tofu massaman curry I found a chunk of some sort of meat and it had a strong taste of prawn. Not ideal
Extremely friendly service and lovely atmosphere! Pad Thai was very authentic and aromatic, however the Massaman curry could have slightly more fillings. Overall though, lovely experience and would recommend!
I'm afraid I didn't like the food. Fish cakes turned out to be chewy fish skewers. Calamari was also chewy. The red curry had no special flavours. It was a if I've made the curry myself at home from a ready paste.
Lovely local place with good service. Food of a good portion size and very tasty. Would recommend for a take away or to dine in!!
My family and I have been here twice. On each occasion, the food and service were excellent. My wife and daughter are gluten-intolerant and gluten-free offerings in many restaurants tend to be bland and poor substitutes...with unsuitable sauces and dressings simply just removed from the original dish. So it was great to find a local Thai restaurant offering gluten-free food without compromising on taste and authenticity. Furthermore, its family run, with friendly service and is very reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended.
Went here on a Saturday. Not so busy for a Saturday evening! Great food, takes a little bit longer to serve the food. But you've to be patient with the food. Server (young kid - maybe a newbie) didn't know the food. When all the ordered food came, we figured if out ourselves. Small portions of the starters and mains. Ok portions for dessert. Some good options for vegetarians too. Desserts were the best from the ordered food- 5????. Earlier this used to be an Indian restaurant and had earlier visited couple of years before. Different management now. Will go here again to see the difference! ????
