Quick Facts About Thali Ho Indian Kitchen
Thali Ho Indian Kitchen has received mostly positive comments, highlighting its great food, attentive staff, fast service, and modern decor. However, there are a few negative comments regarding the experience with the Thali dish and the pricing of certain items.
Starting with the strengths, many customers praise the food at Thali Ho Indian Kitchen. They describe it as delicious, full of incredible flavors and spices, and even award-winning. The menu offers a variety of options, including Thali's, which are highly recommended for their value and selection of sides. Customers also appreciate that the restaurant is able to cater to allergies and intolerances, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their meal.
The service at Thali Ho Indian Kitchen is repeatedly commended for being friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Even with large bookings, the staff remains attentive and ensures that all the food is delivered simultaneously. This level of service enhances the overall dining experience and makes customers feel well taken care of.
Another strength mentioned by customers is the modern and airy decor of the restaurant. The contemporary atmosphere creates a refreshing and pleasant dining environment.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one comment criticizes the Thali dish. The customer states that it did not meet their expectations in terms of smell, presentation, and texture. They also tried the grill option, which they found to be worse. This suggests that there may be inconsistencies in the quality or preparation of certain dishes.
A common complaint about Thali Ho Indian Kitchen is the pricing and charging for certain items. A customer mentions that they were charged £8 for "complimentary" pickles, £6 for water, and £4.50 for a "complimentary" salad. This pricing policy is seen as excessive and even considered "daylight robbery" by one customer. The high cost for these additional items may be off-putting for some customers and affect their overall experience.
It is also worth noting that one customer found the food to be very average and forgettable. They specifically mention that the chicken tikka was dry and the Pilau rice was bland. This comment suggests that the overall quality and taste of the food may not be consistent.
Based on the comments, the strengths of Thali Ho Indian Kitchen are its great food (according to most of the feedback), attentive staff, fast service, and modern decor. However, there are weaknesses related to the experience with the Thali dish, inconsistencies in food quality, and the perception of high prices for certain items. These weaknesses may impact the overall dining experience for some customers.

Great food although felt stuffed too soon so doggy bagged it. Very attentive staff and fast service. Probably the largest English Indian restaurant I've been to. Only negative I'd say is that the decor is too modern and cold. Prefer the classic red velvet wallpaper and a more intimate feel but maybe that's just me. Would definitely come again. Thank you guys.
We booked a table for 20 as part of our gym social. The food and service were both amazing, really couldn’t have asked for any more. Even though we were a large booking the staff were so attentive and everybody's food came all at once. The food itself was delicious and they were able to cater to allergies/ intolerances. Thank you so much! We’ll be back :)
Award winning Indian restaurant for a reason - it's the best Indian food I've eaten in London and its suburbs for a long while. Service is friendly and attentive, prices reasonable, decor refreshingly modern and airy, above all the food is just tops. Very highly recommended!!!
Had a Fantastic meal here tonight. Wonderful food and service, from the Popadoms through the mixed grill to the Lamb Jalfrezi Thali to the light and fluffy Naan and finished off with theGulab Jamun. Every element was full of incredible flavours and spice. Thank you. We will definitely be returning.
Amazing Saag Gosht. More tender lamb with spinach. Thanks, such a delight!
The service great.
I was very exited to try this new restaurant, and there was a plight on their crystal dish; Thali. Unfortunately it wasn’t what I expected, and that left my experience dented. The Thali smelt, presentation was a struggle and in actual fact it lacked the Indian texture. Unexpectedly, I asked for another dish to try which was their grill option, but that was worse.
I’m being friendly with my rating as their service was good, and they did listen to my concerns which had been benign consolation.
Too note, another big issue with their policy is that they charge for everything. The “complimentary” pickles costed a whopping £8, the water £6 and their “complimentary” salad was £4.50 which I thought was daylight robbery.
I spent over £150 and there should be some level of decorum.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it to those who want to try “Thali”
Probably my favourite Indian restaurant in the Surbiton/Kingston area. Always great service and food is delicious, both for eating in and for takeaway. Their Thali's are the way to go as you get a whole meal with a selection of sides. The rest of their menu is delicious too, but the Thali's give you the best value. Always happy after a visit.
Food was very average and forgettable. Chicken tikka was ok in terms of taste but the meat was very dry and the the Pilau rice was a bit bland.
Not a restaurant I will be visiting again.
