Quick Facts About The Clock House
The Clock House has a number of strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided. Starting with the strengths, many customers commented positively on the food. The food was described as great, tasty, and flavorful. The Indian dishes were particularly recommended, with specific mentions of the lollipop chicken, chops, and mix grill sizzlers. The portion sizes were generally good, although one comment mentioned that the grill portion was smaller than average. The prices were also mentioned as being reasonable and good value for money.
Another strength mentioned by customers was the friendly and efficient staff. Some customers described receiving a warm welcome upon entering the bar, and the manager coming to say hello was seen as a nice touch. The staff were also commended for being friendly and efficient in serving drinks and taking orders. One customer mentioned that the staff were accommodating and prepared a pizza in a specific way for their child.
The atmosphere of The Clock House was also mentioned as a positive aspect. The comment about the American-diner style layout suggests a fun and casual atmosphere. The presence of multiple TV screens showing sports events was appreciated by some customers, who enjoyed being able to watch the game while eating and drinking. The presence of a pool table was also mentioned as a positive aspect.
Now turning to the weaknesses of The Clock House, the most prominent issue mentioned by customers was the lack of table service. Multiple comments mentioned that there was no greeting upon arrival and that customers had to order food and drinks at the bar rather than being served at their table. Some customers found this odd and disappointing, especially since they had booked a table in advance. The lack of interaction with paying customers and poor customer service were also criticized.
The presence of football on the TVs was seen as a negative aspect by some customers. They felt that it was not appropriate for a restaurant setting and mentioned that it affected their overall experience. One customer suggested that The Clock House should be listed as a sports bar selling Indian food rather than a cocktail bar.
In terms of the staff, while some comments praised them for being friendly and efficient, others had negative experiences. One customer mentioned a member of staff with poor customer service skills and a bad attitude. Another had a negative interaction with a staff member wearing fake eyelashes and made an offensive joke about her appearance. Both these incidents contributed to the overall perception of poor customer service at The Clock House.
Based on the comments provided, the strengths of The Clock House include the quality and taste of the food, reasonable prices, friendly staff, and a fun atmosphere. However, the weaknesses include the lack of table service, the presence of football on the TVs, and poor customer service in some instances. Overall, The Clock House may be a good choice for casual food and drinks, especially for those looking for Indian cuisine and sports viewing, but it falls short in terms of providing a well-rounded dining experience with good customer service.
Best TL Reviews
I checked this place out on Google, food looked nice cocktails too, so I decided to book a table for two. Although there was a few bad reviews I still booked.
When arrived there was no greeting guest which normally happens when you go out to eat,
I went to the bar 2 ordered drinks. Which the guy told me he will being over to my table. I seen my table as I arrived so the guest I brought sat down.
Drinks looked great but took a while considering it wasn't very busy there was people there but appeared to look like family or friends of the people running the venue as one was helping himself to drinks and going back and forth from bar, table with guests and on pool table.
I sat at my table for ages no1 came over to the table i then went up to bar and asked have I got to order food at the bar, well they said yess which was rather odd considering I've booked a table.
Drinks was brought over to the table, I then paid for them straight away
When at the bar and ordered food I paid for that straight away.
So no table service atall yano where you dine out and then pay the bill.
Eventually food came out which was great looked amazing
Looked like the chef had brought the food out as there is no waiter service.
Food tasted great I can't fault the food
Cocktails great 2 for £10
Double spirts good pricing too
Good value for money
I ordered more drinks the lady who served me seemed okay
Me and my guests eyes was bigger than our belly so was lots of food still left.
The lady who served me drinks previously was walking around the venue she came by my table I said excuse me... no response so I just said can I get this to take away please. Well if looks could kill with the terrible fake lashes she was wearing that looked like there was living mities on loooooool there wasnt of course but they are terribly done and she thought she looked amazing... Her attitude was very poor customer service she has zero skills... none, zilch, nilqwa people skills and should not work in hospitality industry. And way she trotted off into the kitchen area, a few moments later a different lady came out with takeaway boxes, I made a pretty terrible joke at the time but lady look like she's being used for slave labour as her skills was poor too. No interaction with paying customer. Unless she was just copying in house behaviour.
From an outsiders point of view this looks like a cover. If you get what I mean use the business to launder money. Hahaha
Football was on the TVs when we arrived.
we wasn't impressed with but let it slide until the rest of the service was poor.
I've never been out to eat and football is on the TV not nice atall to be honest.
This should be listed as a sports bar that sales Indian food, Not cocktail bar.
Due to atmosphere we did not bother to stay for more drinks.
I would NEVER dine here every again based on the customer service, customer service a very important part of many roles hospitality being on of the top 5.
They should no about customer service when running a business.
No customer service from any of staff
Very disappointing it lets the place down drastically as this could be a really nice place.. best to just stick to getting take out from here.
If you want restaurant service I suggest you go elsewhere as you won't get any of that in here.
As a Google guide this is the review I've enjoyed doing the most.
Sport on 3 or 4 screens and an excellent curry menu. Good prices. Pool table as well. A bit of an American-diner style layout. If you want beer (or cocktails) and good Indian food whilst watching the game.... this is the place
Good for casual food and drinks. Portion size of the grill is smaller then average but tasted good - the chops in particular cooked just right. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Being regular customers we received our usual warm welcome as we came into the bar. Ordered food and drinks at the bar then went and sat in one of the booths. Food came after 10mins, we enjoyed it, flavourful as usual. The kids were happy with the food too especially my younger one who requested her pizza made a specific way which the chef prepared. Will be going back.
Friendly staff, nice environment, and most important of all, fantastic food at great price. The starters were especially good - definitely recommend the Lollipop Chicken.
Very nice and tasty food.
Visited The Clockhouse on a number of occasions , always had great food, great service and a vibrant atmosphere. Great for families with small children as there is a variety of meals for the little ones to choose from. As for the adults, there's always something new which becomes my new favourite each and every time I visit. The manager of the place comes to say hello which is a nice touch and recommends new dishes which always seem to be amazing. During my recent visit, I could see he was extremely busy so he doesn't always get to come round and say Hi, which is also OK, but we were acknowledged. We noticed there have a number of new desserts which look very appealing, however I only tried one which was like a Ferrero Rocher inspired one. The desserts for the kids were fab which they thoroughly enjoyed eating which were called 'Egg Man'. Can't wait to come again. The Clockhouse never fails to deliver a pleasant experience for us.
Great place for a beer or food or both. The chilli chicken starter is really nice. The mix grill Sizzlers are absolutely lovely. Good selection of beer and spirits. It also has a pool table and sports are usually shown on the big screens.
