Quick Facts About The Cross Inn

The Cross Inn appears to have several strengths based on the comments provided. Firstly, the bar staff are described as very enthusiastic, which suggests they are friendly and attentive, providing excellent service to customers. Additionally, the availability of a nice beer garden is mentioned, indicating that patrons have an outdoor space to enjoy their drinks and socialize. The inclusion of historical stories of the locality adorning the walls adds to the pub's charm and ambiance.
The quality of the food and drink served at The Cross Inn is also praised in the comments. The availability of a good Salopian ale is mentioned, indicating that the pub offers a selection of quality beers. The comment about a choice of complimentary chutneys and pickles suggests that the pub pays attention to detail and provides a diverse range of accompaniments to enhance the dining experience. The pub is also commended for its offerings of cobs (a type of sandwich) and scotch eggs on the bar, as well as a self-service salad bar. This variety of food options caters to different tastes and preferences.
Furthermore, the fact that The Cross Inn is part of the BCA chain is seen as a positive sign. The comment suggests that the pub being part of a chain brings a level of credibility and consistency, which can be reassuring to customers. The pub is also described as being clean and well-kept, which indicates a commitment to cleanliness and maintaining a pleasant environment for patrons.
The atmosphere at The Cross Inn is consistently highlighted as a strength. The comment that it is "always good" suggests that the pub consistently provides a positive experience for its customers. The friendly staff and customers mentioned in one of the comments contribute to a welcoming and sociable atmosphere, creating a sense of community within the pub.
While the comments mainly focus on the strengths of The Cross Inn, there are a few areas that could be considered weaknesses or areas for improvement. One comment mentions that the pub only serves cobs and crisps as food options, which may limit the choices for customers seeking a more substantial meal. However, it is worth noting that this may be a deliberate choice by the pub to specialize in certain food items.
Additionally, it is mentioned that the pub can get very busy, which may be seen as a downside for some customers who prefer a more relaxed environment. However, it is noted that the busy atmosphere contributes to the overall ambiance of the pub, and the positive aspects outweigh any potential negatives.
In conclusion, The Cross Inn appears to be a popular pub with many strengths. The enthusiastic bar staff, nice beer garden, historical decor, and good food and drink options contribute to a positive customer experience. The pub's affiliation with the BCA chain, cleanliness, and well-kept appearance also add to its credibility. While there are some potential areas for improvement, such as the limited food options and occasional busyness, these do not seem to significantly detract from the overall positive reputation of The Cross Inn.

Best TL Reviews

Very enthusiastic bar staff here. A nice beer garden and the usual historical story of the locality adorning the walls.
I had a very good Salopian ale and a cheese cob. A good choice of complimentary chutneys and pickle's.
Doing a very good job here
A BCA chain pub which is always a good sign.
Unsurprisingly rammed on the hottest day of the year but that was only on the outside and they had an additional bar there to accommodate the numbers. We preferred to sit inside with the air con. Great service and beer, what more do you want. If that is a cob, then they can help you with that too.
real ale at it’s best very friendly staff. cobs and scotch eggs on bar and help yourself salad bar. we always pop in if passing. Clean and very well kept. great beer choices and a nice cider guest availability most visits. we’ll be back with our two jack-rustles. don’t miss this one.
A real diamond. It's a bit of a walk up the hill but worth it, good prices, lots of selection, staff are nice, great atmosphere and the cobs are amazing! Go to pub! And after a few oils a very pleasant walk back down the hill home!
It's always good
Friendly staff, friendly customers and good beer.
Can get very busy but it all adds to a great atmosphere.
Definitely worth a drive out to.
The Cross is a traditional pub. We visited in the evening, no food served except cobs and crisps. There's always a good atmosphere and the landlord is very attentive.
First visit here since before covid lockdown so good to see it thriving as a proper pub.
Friendly staff, food is excellent and the ale selection is incredible.
Back again soon.
Good old midland pub with nice selection of beer.
Huge wedges of cheese in the baps, shame that no one mentioned the salad bar hidden around the corner.
