Quick Facts About The Hive Leisure Park

The Hive Leisure Park is a popular destination for families due to its wide range of activities and amenities. It offers something for all ages, including ice skating, bowling, laser quest, a children's play area, arcades, pool, cinema, and various food establishments. Additionally, it provides plenty of free parking, making it convenient for visitors.
One of the strengths of The Hive is its accessibility. It has a great accessible bathroom, ensuring that everyone can comfortably use the facilities. This is especially important for individuals with disabilities or special needs.
The roller derby competition held at The Hive is highly praised, with one visitor mentioning that they had an excellent time. This highlights the quality of events and entertainment that take place within the leisure park. It suggests that visitors can expect enjoyable experiences and a lively atmosphere.
For families with small children, The Hive offers a fantastic deal on Saturday mornings. They can enjoy 10 pin bowling and soft play for only £1 each, providing affordable entertainment. Additionally, if the activities are completed in time, families can catch a £1 kids movie in the adjacent cinema, making it a value-packed morning of fun.
The ice skating lessons offered at The Hive are well-received by both parents and children. Twins attending these lessons are mentioned as loving them, indicating that the instructors provide engaging and enjoyable sessions. While the children participate in their lessons, parents mention having a great choice of places to eat. This suggests that the leisure park also offers a variety of dining options catering to different tastes.
However, The Hive does have some weaknesses that have been highlighted in the comments. One negative aspect mentioned is the high prices of drinks at the bar. One visitor exclaims that they were charged £1.20 for a splash of blackcurrant, which they consider to be a ripoff. This suggests that the prices at the bar are significantly more expensive than expected, leading to dissatisfaction among customers.
Another negative comment revolves around the absence of laser quest, which was advertised outside the establishment but no longer available. This disappointment suggests a lack of accurate and updated information regarding the available activities. It may lead to frustration for visitors who had planned to engage in specific activities that are no longer offered.
Additionally, one visitor mentions feeling confused and not knowing their location. While they comment that The Hive is not a bad place, the confusion suggests that the signage or directions within the leisure park may not be clear. This ambiguity may result in a less enjoyable experience for some visitors.
In terms of dining experiences, a positive comment mentions enjoying pulled pork loaded chips and the share platter for kids. This indicates that the food establishments within The Hive offer a variety of tasty options. However, it is worth noting that the comment does not mention the quality or taste specifically, focusing more on the variety and portion sizes.
Overall, The Hive Leisure Park's strengths lie in its family-friendly atmosphere, accessibility, variety of activities, and affordable options for entertainment. However, it does have weaknesses in terms of expensive bar prices, lack of updated information about activities, and potential confusion for visitors. By addressing these weaknesses, The Hive could further improve its reputation and provide an even better experience for all who visit.

Great place ideal for all the family x
Great accessible bathroom and we had an excellent time at the roller derby competition
My twins do ice skating lessons here and love it and me and my son always have a great choice of places to eat whilst we wait.
Great if you have small children. Get there early on Saturday morning and enjoy 10 pin bowling and softplay for £1 each (slightly more for adults that are bowling). If you finish the bowling/soft play in time you can catch the £1 kids movie in the cinema next door too. That's a whole morning of entertainment for a few quid.
Kids had a great time bowling, bar prices scandalous £1.20 for a splash of blackcurrant ripoff , 2 drinks more than paid for the whole bottle, won't be returning will celebrate birthday's somewhere else in future
Enjoyed the bowling but the reason it lost a star is because we were planning on going to the laser quest there which is no longer there which is gutting seen as it doesnt say anything online and is still advertised outside. Hope this helps if you are planning on doing Laser Quest
well I never know where I am, so that being the case, yeah it's not a bad place
