Quick Facts About The Llwyncelyn Inn

The Llwyncelyn Inn in Aberdare appears to have a number of strengths based on the comments provided. One of the main strengths mentioned is the quality and variety of the food they offer, particularly their breakfast options. The reviewer mentions that there is an extensive breakfast menu, but they were pleased to see a lighter option available for a reasonable price. The breakfast was described as delicious and cooked from scratch, indicating that the inn takes care in preparing their meals. Another strength that is highlighted is the friendly and attentive staff. Multiple comments mention the staff being lovely, great, and more than helpful. This is an important aspect of any dining experience as it contributes to creating a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere.
Additionally, the inn's refurbishment is mentioned as a positive aspect. The reviewer states that the new layout and refurbishment make the inn look even better than before. This suggests that the inn is committed to updating and improving its facilities to provide an enjoyable dining environment for customers. The positive feedback from the Aberdare Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Support Group also indicates that there is a welcoming and accommodating atmosphere at the inn.
However, there are a few weaknesses mentioned in the comments as well. A negative aspect that stands out is the slow service experienced by some customers. One reviewer mentions that their food took over an hour to arrive, despite the pub being quiet. This suggests that the inn may struggle with managing their kitchen and ensuring timely service during busy periods. Another reviewer mentions a small issue with their meal, but it is quickly resolved. While it is positive that the issue was resolved without question, it raises concerns about the overall quality control and consistency of the food.
Another weakness mentioned is the excessive saltiness of the food. One reviewer states that their steak and ale pie was too salty and made them thirsty for hours afterwards. This suggests that there may be inconsistent seasoning or preparation techniques in the kitchen that need to be addressed.
In summary, The Llwyncelyn Inn has several strengths, including the quality and variety of their food, friendly staff, and recent refurbishment. However, there are some weaknesses to consider, such as slow service during busy periods and inconsistent seasoning in the food. Overall, it appears to be a pleasant place with potential for improvement in certain areas.

Noticed there was a cafe round the side so decided to try it this morning with my daughter after Slimming World so although there is an extensive breakfast menu we were really pleased to see there was a lighter option breakfast which was 2 eggs, 2 bacon medallions, grilled tomato and mushrooms plus a huge portion of baked beans and a slice of whole grain bread together with a tea, coffee or a juice for £4.75. It was delicious and didn't take too long even though it was cooked from scratch. Lovely staff and a very pleasant start to the day. Also had the most delicious and humongous Festive Afternoon Tea here just before Xmas, will definitely be back next for the more usual afternoon tea????
Lush breakfasts, reasonably priced and lovely staff. Can't fault the place :-)
A big thank you to the Llwyncelyn Inn for our lovely meals today. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. Great service and friendly staff. The new layout and refurbishment of the pub makes it look even better than before. Can't wait to go again. Xx Aberdare Fibromyalgia and Chronic Pain Support Group.
Looking for somewhere in Aberdare to have Sunday breakfast after a long run. I messaged them in the week to ask. Very quick reply was Yes. 10am to 12. Must say the 3 of us had a lovely breakfast. Pint of course. Cheers. Mark
Really good service here, the bar lady was more than helpful. My father mentioned a small issue with his meal and he was fully refunded without question. Can't wait for our next visit!!
Excellent fresh food, 5 stars
Summary: Very slow service, food hot and plentiful.
Arriving around 1:20pm, we checked that food was being served and ordered our meals shortly afterwards. Unfortunately, the food did not arrive till just after 230.We had not been told it would take and hour and the pub had been quiet for the 30 minutes preceding. On asking, w e were told the delay had been because an unexpected 'tea party' had come in - but this was only 3 adults and a young child, and they had received their food by about 1:45 and had finished long before ours appeared.
We both had steak and ale pie, peas and chips. It was hot and a large helping, I won't be eating an evening meal today! The pie was full of meat.. I found the food far too salty, however, and I've been thirsty for hours since. I think this was due to the gravy which i had rather foolishly agreed to be poured over the meal. With less salt, it would have been a very good pub meal.
Lovely breakfast..Lovely food staff are great wa a nice pub
