Quick Facts About The Mardle Cafe & Bakery

The Mardle Cafe & Bakery is a beautiful little cafe located in a beautiful little village. According to many customers, the food and service are great, making it a highly recommended place to visit. The afternoon tea is particularly praised for its deliciousness and generous portions. The staff is often described as friendly and accommodating, making customers feel welcomed and satisfied with their experience.
One of the strengths of The Mardle Cafe & Bakery seems to be the quality of their food. The cheese scone and sausage roll are specifically mentioned as being of superb quality. Customers also appreciate the variety and tastiness of the cakes and afternoon tea offerings. There are multiple mentions of the food being delicious, which indicates a consistency in the quality of the offerings.
Another strength is the value for money that customers experience at The Mardle Cafe & Bakery. Many comments mention that the prices are reasonable, especially for the generous portions of the afternoon tea. This suggests that customers feel they are getting a good deal and that the cafe offers a good balance of quality and affordability.
The cleanliness of the premises is noted as a positive aspect of the cafe. Multiple comments highlight the spotless condition of the cafe, indicating that the management takes pride in keeping the environment clean and hygienic. This is important to customers, especially in food establishments, as it contributes to a pleasant and comfortable dining experience.
The family-run nature of The Mardle Cafe & Bakery is mentioned as a positive aspect. Customers appreciate the personal touch and warm atmosphere that comes with a family business. The thank yous from the "Mardle family" show that they have built a loyal customer base and fostered a sense of community within the cafe.
However, there are also some weaknesses that customers have pointed out. One recurring complaint is about the cafe only accepting cash as a form of payment. In a world that is increasingly cashless, this can be inconvenient for customers who do not have cash on hand. It would be beneficial for the cafe to offer alternative payment methods, such as card or mobile payment options, to accommodate a wider range of customers.
Another weakness mentioned in the comments is the issue of inconsistent opening times. Some customers have reported arriving within the advertised opening hours only to find the cafe closed. This can be frustrating and inconvenient for customers who have made the effort to visit the cafe. It's important for businesses to ensure that their opening times are accurate and updated regularly to avoid disappointing customers.
One major area of weakness highlighted by multiple comments is the poor treatment of customers by the staff. There are instances where customers have been made to feel unwelcome, with remarks about their attire and feeling that they were not good enough to stay. This kind of behavior is problematic and can seriously impact a business's reputation and customer loyalty. It's crucial for the management of The Mardle Cafe & Bakery to address these reported issues and provide appropriate training and guidance to their staff to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers.
In conclusion, The Mardle Cafe & Bakery has several strengths, including great food and service, value for money, cleanliness, and a family-run atmosphere. However, there are also weaknesses that need to be addressed, such as the cash-only policy, inconsistent opening times, and poor treatment of customers. By addressing these weaknesses and further capitalizing on its strengths, The Mardle Cafe & Bakery can continue to thrive and provide a positive experience for its customers.

Great food and service as always.
Thanks 2 all the mardle family
We found this lovely gem of a family-run café today by chance. We enjoyed a cheese scone and a sausage roll, both of which were of a superb quality. The staff were very friendly and I must say their premises were spotless. All highly recommended.
Omg the afternoon tea was deliciously naughty and the service was great .
Amazing afternoon tea, the best around for sure! Me and my friends come here under normal circumstances and you always feel welcomed and the customer service is amazing! I have ordered a couple of afternoon tea takeaways while in lockdown and they have been just as tasty! The price is so reasonable, this literally is the most generous afternoon tea we’ve ever had! :)
Went here to get a coffee and cake with my two sisters today, but we were told they were not serving as they were about to close.
The place had plenty of customers and it was only 1.30, but we were made to feel uncomfortable and we left.
When we stepped outside again, we checked out their opening times and it said they were open until 3pm.
We were wet as it was raining outside and had been to feed our horses, but we're certainly not dirty Etc.
We left and went to the pub a few doirs down and had an amazing meal in their instead.
I wouldn't go back there ever again, as we were made to feel very unwelcome.
I'd rate this place lower than one star if possible.
Looks very pleasant, but staff rude and unpleasant.
Went there today with my sister's and were made to feel that we were not good enough to stay. It was raining and windy, so we were a bit windswept when we entered. The place had customers and we were told they couldn't serve us! Told they were shut, but their opening times stated they didn't close until 3pm.
Obviously our attire wasn't right for this place.
We went to the village maid restaurant along the road instead and had a marvellous meal and drink and we were made exceptionally welcome.
Would not recommend this cafe to anyone at all. Disgusting attitude towards customers.
