Quick Facts About The Old Bank Coffee & Wine Bar

The Old Bank Coffee & Wine Bar has received mostly positive feedback, with customers praising the staff, food, and atmosphere. These comments indicate several strengths of the establishment.
One recurring theme in the comments is the polite and attentive staff. Customers appreciate the friendly and welcoming service they receive, which enhances their overall experience. The staff's attentiveness to customer needs and their ability to create a welcoming atmosphere are significant strengths of The Old Bank.
The food is another aspect that customers consistently praise. The quality of the dishes is described as "out of this world" and "brilliant." The special offers, such as the steak sandwich with egg and salsa, are particularly well-received. The positive comments about the food highlight the culinary expertise and creativity of the kitchen staff, showcasing another strength of the café.
The environment and ambiance of The Old Bank are also highly regarded. Customers mention the clean and tidy settings, as well as the comfortable seating arrangements. Many customers enjoy visiting the café for a peaceful coffee and find the atmosphere to be lovely. This positive feedback indicates that the space is well-maintained and designed to provide a pleasant and relaxing experience for patrons.
The comments also mention that the café offers a variety of drinks, including milkshakes. While one customer was unable to try a chocolate peanut butter milkshake due to being full, it is noteworthy that the café provides diverse options for beverages. This indicates that there is a wide selection to cater to different preferences and adds value to the establishment.
Despite these strengths, a few weaknesses emerge from the comments. One customer mentioned receiving a coffee order in two different containers due to running out of a particular milk type. This suggests a lack of attention to detail or poor inventory management, which could impact the overall quality of service.
Another comment mentions that the eggs in the poached egg dish were runny, indicating a lapse in consistency or quality control. This suggests that the kitchen might need to improve its execution of dishes to maintain the high standards that customers expect.
Another criticism is that the breakfast service felt rushed and disorganized. One customer mentioned feeling pressured to vacate the table by a certain time, despite not having received their food until later. This experience left a negative impression and deemed the establishment unsuitable for special occasions. This feedback suggests a need for better communication and time management during busy periods to ensure that customers have an enjoyable and relaxed dining experience.
Finally, one customer commented on the service being poor and observed an instance of messy table clearing. This criticism suggests a lack of attention to cleanliness and a need for improved customer interactions. Maintaining a clean and presentable environment is essential for customer satisfaction and can be considered an area of improvement.
In conclusion, The Old Bank Coffee & Wine Bar has several strengths that contribute to its positive reputation. These strengths include polite and attentive staff, high-quality food, a pleasant atmosphere, and a variety of drink options. However, there are also a few areas that need improvement, such as attention to detail, consistency in food preparation, time management during busy periods, and customer interaction. Addressing these weaknesses will help The Old Bank maintain its strong reputation and continue to provide a positive experience for its customers. Overall, The Old Bank Coffee & Wine Bar appears to be a popular and well-regarded establishment.

Love coming to The Old Bank. Staff are always so polite and attentive. The food is out of this world. Last visited on a Saturday in June and even though it was very busy, the food was top notch. I had the special that was on offer that day - a steak sandwich with egg and salsa. My husband had the Bombay potato soup which he thoroughly enjoyed!
Will definitely be coming back very soon - I’m dying to try one of the Chocolate peanut butter milkshakes but I sadly was far too full on this visit to have one!! But mark my words - I’ll be back to try it!
The old Royal Bank of Scotland .... its much better inside now !! Went for breakfast, Egg Benedict, unbelievable and well presented absolutely brilliant food. Good service, clean tidy and comfy settings. Well recommended !! Looking forward to my next breakfast.
Had a lovely experience at the old bank today. I came in for a coffee and to do a bit of work. The environment was lovely as well as the service. A girl I think is called Talia was so lovely and welcoming and is a credit to the establishment. Would recommend highly.
We went for breakfast on Sunday 26.03.23. Service was great but what should have been 2 identical coffees was 1 in a cup 1 in a glass. Reason was we have ran out of semi skimmed milk. Also 1 poached egg white was runny. I would say for the cost it's not good value. Looking back at other reviews somebody's standards are letting you down.
We booked a breakfast meal for 10 2 weeks in advance for a Mothers day / a 74th birthday
On arrival at 11am we where told we had to vacate the table by 12.15 this was repeated as guests arrive
We where given 3 tatty menus that made you feel that you should wash your hands after reading.
When we asked if anyone could take our order we where told we had to order at the counter.
Without pen and paper we tried to order 10 meals only to be told no food orders where now being taken.
The order was eventually sorted out
At 11 40 we where once again told we would have to vacate at 12.15. We pointed out that we still hadn't got our food only to be told Very abruptly that we would still have leave at 12.15.
A few minutes later the food arrived. One person was informed she only had a part of her breakfast the rest would arrive when it was cooked (which it did )
Food quality very good although beans luke warm
Price £12.95 for a full English
Experience. VERY embarrassing for the person who tried to make a breakfast meal a very special occasion.
Would not recommend for a special occasion
Appalling service. Food ordered and delivered wrong, poor customer interactions. Even watched someone give another table drinks, and then walk away without clearing the mess from a previous customer. Sort it out because the food is good.
Pretty much faultless. Staff great. Pizzas great. Prices ok. Choice of drinks good. But please pop your heating on now winter is here ????
Love the atmosphere in this place. Food and coffees, etc. always been very good too. It really is first class.
