Quick Facts About Lily's Restaurant

Lily's Restaurant appears to have several strengths, based on the comments provided. One notable strength is its great cooking. The restaurant is praised for serving excellent dishes made from scratch, with a focus on using fresh ingredients and plenty of fresh vegetables. This dedication to quality and freshness likely contributes to the enjoyable dining experience at Lily's.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the wonderful service. Customers describe the staff as cheerful, helpful, friendly, and welcoming. These positive experiences with the staff contribute to the overall enjoyable atmosphere at Lily's and enhance the dining experience.
The restaurant also receives positive feedback for its set price daily specials menu. This offering allows customers to enjoy two or three freshly cooked courses for a fixed price, which is seen as a great option by customers. This provides customers with the opportunity to try a variety of dishes while also ensuring good value for money.
Additionally, Lily's is commended for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. One customer specifically mentions their Christmas dinner experience, where the staff went above and beyond to make it feel like a special occasion. This demonstrates the attention to detail and customer service-oriented approach at Lily's.
The restaurant is also noted for its delicious homemade cakes, scones, and jam. The quality of the food is highly praised, and the tearoom is recommended to others. The use of bone China tea ware is also seen as a positive attribute, adding an element of sophistication to the dining experience.
However, there are a few weaknesses that are worth considering. One comment mentions that the restaurant is now under new ownership and has been renamed. This change may have caused confusion among loyal customers and could potentially impact the reputation of the restaurant. Another comment mentions that the restaurant now appears empty, suggesting that it may be struggling to attract customers under the new ownership and concept.
Furthermore, one customer notes that Lily's is a little out of the town, meaning it may not be easily accessible to tourists and visitors. This location disadvantage may limit the number of potential customers who discover the restaurant.
Overall, the strengths of Lily's Restaurant lie in its great cooking, wonderful service, set price daily specials menu, and warm and welcoming atmosphere. However, weaknesses include the change in ownership and potential rebranding confusion, the apparent lack of customers under the new ownership, and the location being slightly off the beaten track.

Great cooking, wonderful service
In the heart of Paignton Lily's is a wonderful restaurant serving morning coffee, great hot meals and the all important Devonshire cream tea. The restaurant has a full menu however the best option is the daily specials menu, offering two or three freshly cooked courses for a set price. The cooking is excellent, from scratch dishes that also include lots of fresh vegetables.
The service is wonderful. Cheerful, helpful staff who make your meal seamless and enjoyable.
Lily's is the kind of restaurant that keeps quiet about what it does and focuses on serving great food rather than making bold claims and noise. I cannot recommend Lily's enough.
Lily's was a very good restaurant, we had a lovely Sunday roast. It's now under new ownership and is called Grand Patisserie. The food is very upmarket now and place always looks empty. They don't serve standard meals.. just an observation
Went for our groups Christmas Dinner couldn't fault a thing table was set up perfectly staff where perfect in every way thay even took the pictures for us so we could all be in them the warm and welcoming atmosphere really did make it more like Christmas. Definitely recommend and price is good as well.
Lovely tearooms with delicious home made cakes n scones and the jam ,homemade is delicious !! Thoroughly recommend this charming tearoom
Really lovely eatery, very Alice in Wonderland themed, that I loved. The food was delicious, fresh and good value. The staff member who served us was friendly, polite and helpful. They had good veggie options for a fussy eater like me and fantastic for a light lunch whilst our in Paignton. It's a little out of the town so a lot of tourists and visitors don't find it, but it's well worth the visit!
Wife and I popped in for lunch today. Had the rump steak and it was delicious. Lady kindly even made up a different sauce that wasn't on the menu. Very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended and we'll see you again soon Lily's.
We had a really great Full English and Eggs Benedict they were well cooked, fresh and hot. Hate it when you're dished up a nice looking meal that turns out to be luke warm to cold but that wasn't the case here. Definitely the best breakfast I've had in Paignton the lady serving was lovely too.
Great little quaint tea room. Served in bone China tea ware aswell, no cheapo stainless pots here, just good quality service as a cream tea deserves. Good attentive waitress and cleanliness is excellent. Off the main beaten track. Well done.
