Dined here by myself on an early Saturday evening. Nice venue, well presented with a small "pub" section one side and a restaurant the other side. Service was good and food was quickly brought out too. However, for the money, the food was disappointing. I had the pesto and Parmesan linguine and added chicken for an additional £4. This amounted to £16 for what was a very small plate of pasta with some fried breaded chicken on top. The bowl was very small and it actually looked like a starter. Very poor value for money. I can only hope the other offerings are better value.
Excellent bar where you can sit outside next to the river, nice relaxing music playing in the background. Great venue for a bar.
A busy thriving pub in a great location by the canal (outdoor seating too).
Food was really good value for money and plentiful. We can highly recommend the lasagne, steak and ruddles ale pie, gammon and the southern fried chicken burger
My sister & i had the pleasure of afternoon tea today. The quantity & variety of sandwiches & cakes was excellent. We could have as much tea as we could drink. All the staff were so friendly & attentive. We would highly recommend this lovely place. Excellent value for money.
I had a good meal, nice setting with helpful and polite staff. I have given it two stars as the car park looks like someone had emptied a wheelie bin of rubbish around it. I spoke with the staff and they assured me it will be cleaned up. I appreciate it's not the restaurant dropping the litter. If it wasn't for the litter it would be 4 stars.
Booked here at late notice for easter sunday. All staff were lovely and so helpful even when the children were asking for different bits. Nothing was to much trouble. The inside of the restaurant is amazing and beautiful views over the river. The food was to die for and i would recommend it to anyone. Fairly priced for such a yummy meal and good service. Hope to go back in the summer.
Lovely location with gorgeous views over the loch and castle. Staff friendly, decor nice, very relaxed ambience. Food delicious had sausage and mash, sausages full of flavour, mash very creamy would definitely have again! Superb for a drink by the water on a sunny day
Excellent meal ,not a bad service will be better when the young waiters and waitresses get to know the routine. The venue is perfect . We go every two months to meet up with a very dear friend who lives miles away and Newark is in the middle of us.
