Quick Facts About The Waterfront Restaurant

The Waterfront Restaurant, located on the seafront at Skegness, has received a mix of positive and negative comments. In order to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the restaurant, we will consider the various aspects mentioned in the comments.
Starting with the strengths, one of the major highlights of The Waterfront Restaurant is its location and views. Situated on the seafront, it offers panoramic views overlooking the sea. This scenic backdrop adds to the ambiance of the restaurant and provides a pleasant dining experience for its patrons. Additionally, the presence of arcades downstairs and a soft play area on the top floor makes it a family-friendly establishment, catering to both adults and children.
The new menu introduced by the restaurant is also mentioned as a positive aspect. Commenters have praised the good food and particularly enjoyed the seafood platter. The quality and taste of the food add to the overall dining experience, making it worth a visit.
Furthermore, the staff is described as friendly and accommodating. Their behavior and interaction with customers play a crucial role in ensuring a positive dining experience. The welcoming and attentive nature of the staff reflects positively on the restaurant's reputation and creates a good impression on the customers.
Now, turning to the weaknesses of The Waterfront Restaurant, the most noted issue is the long waiting time for food. Several commenters mentioned that their meals took an excessively long time to be served, even when there were few other tables occupied. Such delays can be frustrating for customers, as it disrupts their dining experience and creates a sense of dissatisfaction.
Another common complaint is the inconsistency in food quality. While some dishes received positive feedback, others were criticized for being below average or even inedible. Complaints about items like a chicken burger served on a stale muffin and dry jacket potatoes suggest a lack of attention to detail in food preparation and presentation. Inconsistent quality indicates a lack of consistency in the kitchen, leading to an unreliable dining experience.
Additionally, there are comments about poor customer service. One commenter highlighted feeling ignored when requesting their dessert, and another mentioned feeling uncomfortable when complaining about their meal. Good customer service is essential for any restaurant, as it determines customer satisfaction and their likelihood of returning.
Furthermore, there were complaints about the organization and efficiency of the staff. In one instance, a chocolate brownie was delivered to the wrong table, causing confusion and delay. Another complaint mentions the inability of the restaurant to process a refund properly, resulting in an inadequate cash reimbursement. These incidents reflect a lack of proper systems and communication within the establishment.
Lastly, the mention of a previous fish restaurant and the change in ownership suggests some inconsistency and dissatisfaction among long-term customers. The removal of popular menu items, such as fish dishes, can lead to a loss of loyal customers who enjoyed those options.
In conclusion, The Waterfront Restaurant has strengths in its location, views, and friendly staff, which contribute to a positive dining experience. On the other hand, weaknesses include long waiting times, inconsistent food quality, poor customer service, and organizational issues. These shortcomings hinder the overall reputation and reliability of the restaurant. Addressing these weaknesses, particularly in food consistency and customer service, would significantly enhance the dining experience at The Waterfront Restaurant.

Been coming here for a few years now. New menu, good food, had the seafood platter, very tasty. Well worth a visit if you are on the sea front at Skegness, head for Lucky Strike, and take the lift or stairs to the top. Nice views, friendly staff.
My husband and I had a meal there unfortunately it took forever to get our meal there was only 4 tables in couldn't understand why it took so long the meal was lovely we paid for our dessert at the beginning of the meal when it came to getting it we constantly asked but got ignored when we persisted the manager came over to look to see if we had paid it took us 45 mins to get it its a shame but I won't go back one of the staff was rushing about we felt sorry for her.
The place, the view and the service are great, but I can’t say it for the food. I got an hamburger “Cheese bacon burger” and the only thing that was warm was the burger itself, the bun was cold and there was some not melted cheese as well. The “Chorizo” pizza and it tasted worse than a frozen pizza you buy at the supermarket. Anyway, the whole menu was 20% off so if you are looking to save some money and eat an “OK” food, this is the place. Again, the view is really nice and the service was good.
The food was rubbish the only decent thing was my daughter's pizza I ordered a chicken burger that came out on a stale muffin with hard chips. My girlfriend ordered a jacket potato with chilli and cheese and there was no cheese on it and the potato was dry. My daughter's jacket potato was also very dry. I complained about the burger and was made to feel uncomfortable and ended up choosing something cheaper off the menu which was also inedible I wouldn't eat here again. It's not a bad spot if you fancy a drink with a nice view though.
2-for- 1 meal deal weekdays 3-5pm, with panoramic views overlooking the seafront.
Great views and baguettes tasted great. Hot cajun chicken baguette sauce was really nice on the side too.
Arcades downstairs and a soft play for the children on the top floor as well
Arrived today for lunch with two children our order was kids nugget and chips/burger and chips, two adults meal one chip butty and a small breakfast, all food was below average, my grandchild said to me these nugget taste strange and she couldn't eat them, the chip butty came with the cheapest bread roll ever really cheap spongy bread, breakfast tastless and luck warm.
Before lockdown we used to eat her when it was a fish restaurant, that's now not available all I can think it's changed hand's.
Nuggets are pressed.
Not recommended.
Place was fairly empty when we arrived ordered a few drinks then a chocolate brownie, then more people arrived after other people had got there hot meals before our chocolate brownie we asked a waitress what was taking so long she then come out with a chocolate brownie and delivered it to the table who had already had there hot food before ours lol and we ordered first, anyway after this still no chocolate brownie we gave up as we had finished our drinks, went and asked for a refund which they said couldn’t refund back onto to the card it was taken on and so they give us cash which was slightly short as they didn’t have enough cash in the till lol
