Quick Facts About Volsharn
Volsharn Place has both strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, it is clear that the restaurant offers affordable set meals, such as the £10 voucher for a starter, main, rice, naan, poppadom, and side. This is seen as a great price and an attractive deal for customers. Additionally, the sides and starters, including poppadoms, naan, and paneer, are praised for being really good and enjoyable. The restaurant also receives positive feedback for its delivery service, with comments mentioning that the order is always correct and delivered on time. The delivery drivers are described as friendly and ensuring that the food arrives at the right temperature.
Another strength highlighted in the comments is the quality of the food. While some customers mention that it may not be as good as other Indian restaurants in the area, there are also several comments praising the taste and considering it among the best in the area. The portions sizes are also mentioned as being generous, providing value for money. Additionally, there are comments about the freshness of the poppadoms and the use of proper chunky vegetables in the vegetable curry, which is seen as a positive aspect compared to other restaurants that use frozen mixed vegetables.
Moving on to the weaknesses, one recurring issue mentioned in the comments is the slow service. Despite being the only customers in the restaurant, the waiter is not prompt and seems to primarily focus on takeout orders. This can create a negative experience for customers dining in the restaurant, as they may feel neglected or have to constantly approach the counter for assistance. The lack of attention from the waiter is also highlighted by the fact that the customers had to ask for napkins, which were not provided on the table.
Another weakness mentioned is the inconsistency in honoring promotional offers. One customer mentions receiving a flyer with a £10 set meal deal, but upon visiting the restaurant, they were informed that the offer was no longer available. This creates confusion and disappointment for customers who expect the advertised deals to still be valid. Additionally, another customer mentions that nothing was priced on the bill, and they were overcharged without any explanation. This lack of transparency and clarity in billing can leave customers feeling dissatisfied and distrustful of the establishment.
The ambiance of the restaurant is also seen as a weakness. Several comments mention the lack of atmosphere and poor lighting, which distorts the color of the food. This can affect the overall dining experience and make the restaurant feel less welcoming. Furthermore, there are comments about the restaurant being quite cold, requiring customers to keep their jackets on. This can also detract from the comfort and enjoyment of the meal.
In conclusion, Volsharn Place has its strengths in terms of affordable set meals, good sides/starters, quality food, generous portions, and efficient delivery service. However, its weaknesses lie in slow service, inconsistency with promotional offers, lack of attention, transparency issues with billing, lackluster ambiance, and a cold dining environment. These factors may contribute to customers being hesitant to revisit the restaurant.

Only visited the restaurant as my daughter had a delivery from their last week and it came with a voucher for a set meal ( starter, main, rice, naan popadom and side for £10) was a great price and have never been their before so thought would give it a go.
Firstly as we were the only ones in there thought waiter would be fairly quick he wasn’t. Seems they do most of their trade as take out.
I mentioned the £10 flyer to him as l thought it may be a different menu as the main one was quite a bit more expensive. He said they wasn’t doing that any more, even though she had had the takeaway two days before and the flyer states not to be used on valentines and Christmas so that makes you think it’s a long time offer. He then said it’s a starter main etc. so that made me assume that he was honouring the flyer that they are still sending out with deliveries.
Food was ok not as good as Shozna but nice enough. Had to ask for napkins as none on table. Waiter was pleasant enough but each time we wanted anything we had to go up to counter as he didn’t come over except when delivering food. Another place that buys Tesco orange juice for 60p a cartoon and sells it off at £3 a glass.
Anyway bill came nothing was actually priced on the bill. The drinks were not even on the bill and it was over £60, now if three meals were £10 each it means two beers, two cokes and an orange juice were over £30. As I said nothing on the bill was priced and I had started to feel unwell so went out to car and my husband didn’t want to question it so just paid.
Would we visit again probably not, there’s no atmosphere in there, the lighting distorts the colour of the food. Overcharged. It was quite cold as well so had to keep my jacket on.
Sides/starters were really good (poppadoms, naan, paneer).
Unfortunately, the “house special” main course amounted to rubbery and tasteless overcooked prawns still in their shells, presented in a puddle of unpleasant greasy cooking oil. A house special is supposed to be the best an establishment can offer! Something the restaurant specializes in.
I felt quite groggy and under the weather the following day suggesting poor quality oil/ingredients used. Tasted under-spiced too. A healthy curry should make you feel invigorated, not hungover (I didn't have alcohol with it).
Love the food, never had a bad delivery. Order is always correct even when you ask for special requirements. Delivery was really good too.
Always good food few options in Strood and always use these as our go to now best quality of food and portions sizes. Just ordered leaving 5 star before I have even eaten today.
Genuinely some of the best curry I’ve tasted in the area
Have had very delicious food from here twice so far. Delivery driver Brian(sp.) both times was on time, very friendly and with excellent temperature food.
We had used this restaurant not long after it opened and I loved it went again for my birthday and hated it didn't eat much of the £180+ I spent in there. I love Indian but wouldn't use them again.
First order. Arrived in plenty of time. Friendly delivery guy.
The food was hot and tasty. Huge servings too. The vegetable curry with the biryiani was proper chunky veg too not frozen mixed veg which many restaurants seem to favour. So was very happy. The poppadoms were hot and crunchy and fresh. I am making a point of this because the last 3 Indian take aways we have had, all different restaurants, they have tasted and smelt like burnt/old oil. Not here though these were lovely!!! Thank you so much! We will order again
