Just had a fantastic meal at Ye Old Royal Oak! Absolutely delicious....Always have such a lovely welcome, the bar staff are always so friendly and the food is the best I've had in a long while! Can't wait to return! Proper home cooked chips and the veggie lasagna was the best I've ever had!
Lovely burger the other night, homemade chips spot on too. Other half had a curry and was really tasty. Good portions. Daughter had sausage and chios and was nice to see the sausages weren't the usual rubbish they serve everywhere else. Was a little slow when first went in and was a bit worried but the food was spot on ????
Food here was fantastic, a classic pub with Thai inspired food, an unlikely yet well matched pairing. Portion sizes were phenomenal and great value for money. Staff were efficient and friendly. The pub still retains its classic charms and has thankfully not been converted to a gastro pub.
First time visit and I'm blown away by the service, the staff were so friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautiful, my only gripe was the veg was cold but it was a busy service. So apart from that - amazing. I'll definitely be back for food. Highly recommended.
We eat here as a family about 1-2 times a month. The food is very good. We have never eaten a bad meal here. They offer a Thai, an English and a childrens menu. They also know do a Sunday lunch! A very traditional
pub, we always feel comfortable here. The staff are friendly.
They don't serve food all day, but you can search online for the hours that they do! Nings homemade spring rolls and pork balls are a must try!
Although they don't have a cocktail menu the drink selection is pretty good. They definitely offer the best draught ales choice out of the other pubs in Ystrad Mynach.8
Food was nice but had a lump of chewing gum under my plate. Though it could well of been blue tac my table was clean when I sat down it was only when I picked up the plate I saw what looked like chewing gum. To be honest the staff were busy .
Lovely breakfast, shame that it is only served on a Friday though
