Weaknesses:
1. Poor quality of food: Several reviewers expressed disappointment with the quality of the food at Zara Restaurant. The poor quality of the food negatively impacted the overall dining experience for these customers.
2. Inconsistent food preparation: One reviewer mentioned that the meat dishes they ordered were extremely greasy and the meat itself was chewy and dry. This kind of behavior from the manager creates a hostile and uncomfortable atmosphere for customers.
4. Health and hygiene concerns: Another reviewer reported stomach issues after consuming the food from Zara Restaurant. They decided to contact Environmental Health and provide a sample of the food for analysis. This raises concerns about the restaurant's adherence to health and hygiene standards, potentially putting customers at risk.
5. Overall negative reviews: Despite some positive feedback, the majority of the comments express dissatisfaction with the restaurant. Customers were disappointed with the food quality, customer service, and the manager's behavior. These negative reviews indicate significant weaknesses in Zara Restaurant's overall operations and management.
Best TL Reviews
Avoid this place. Food is appalling, the manager was very abusive and we are thoroughly disgusted by the entire experience. Visited here tonight 31/12/2019. Ordered a Mixed grill @ £25. It comprised of 10 chicken wings, 2 lamb cubes, 6 tikka chicken pieces, 3 lamb chops, rice, sheek suasage, 4 Naan breads and a salad in a box.
All sounds great, right? NO. That is where our problems began. All 4 naan breads were stone cold. They must have been cooked earlier in the day but they were almost fridge cold. The lamb chops were completely incinerated and had obviously been grilled more than once (see photo).
The rice was old and cold and was a public health hazard. The wings were ok but again largely over done on the grill. The salad and the way it was thrown into the box was an abomination. Just an absolute mess. The sheek sausage made me physically sick and tasted like excrement (I mean it really tasted like excrement)
We ate 3 of the chicken wings, a small piece of 1 of the naan breads, 1 Lamb chop each 1 piece of lamb cube and 3 pieces of chicken tikka cubes each and when I tried the sheek I immediately spat it out and was sick.
At this point, we decided to take the food back and tell them we were not happy with the meal. We said we expected them to take better care of their food and a bit more pride in what they are serving.
At this point the manager came in and was very abusive and rude. He basically said as we had eaten some of the food that we were taking the piss and subsequently told us to piss off out of the shop. Absolutely shocking customer service quite frankly.
I think he assumed we were trying it on which we most certainly were not. We were genuinely concerned by the standard of the food served and the price we paid. Genuine concerns that were dismissed by the manager out of turn and with a degree of rudeness and insulting behaviour that is simply not acceptable.
We would have been quite prepared to pay for the food we had eaten but not the meal in it's entirety as it was simply unfit for consumption. The manager assumed incorrectly that we were trying to fleece him thereby insulting our integrity and honesty into the bargain.
We arrived home and immediately wrote this review to warn others of what to expect and to make the manager aware of just how genuine our concerns and disappointment actually are. To insult us in the way that he did was completely uncalled for and completely spoiled our new years eve.
Both of us now have stomach issues after eating some of the food. How serious they turn out to be remains to be seen but, this review will be updated accordingly should it negatively impact on our health. We are sealing and storing the rest of the food, contacting Environmental health and providing them the rest as a sample for analysis.
Please do yourself a massive favour and avoid this place. They are not deserving of your business.
Great menu with most dishes around £5-6. Got a delicious complimentary soup when we ate in and there's free tea. We had a vegetarian feast here which was enough for three people and cost £11, for loads of food. Freshly baked bread is fantastic. Our pals got meat dishes which looked huge and delicious. Absolutely fantastic value and really good quality food. Staff were friendly too.
FANTASTIC! Food was delicious. Complimentary soup, bread and dips were well needed in this cold weather. Free tea was a pleasant addition. Menu had a good selection. Hospitality great. Customer service was quick and with warm smiles. Very clean. Relaxed atmosphere. Would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!! This is a place to go to if you want a peaceful meal, whether on your own, with a partner or in a group. See you again soon...
I've ordered twice from them. Testes nice and they do decent portions however it's extremely greasy and the meat was chewy and dry. I tried lamb and chicken. Please get it sorted :) Overall worth recommending.
The way the manager treated my family on New years eve was an absolute disgrace. Abusive and aggressive. They had legitimate concerns about the food they were served and the managers response was to swear at them and insult them.
The food itself is terrible. Completely inedible. There are far better places on the Dale to eat. If you value good customer service and decent food then avoid this place.
Delicious food, great taste and really good friendly service. With a warm complimentary soup to start, you can't go wrong. This is now my go-to place when I want a tasty quick meal, also my son's favourite restaurant too.
We've been impressed with hospitality of that place, lot of food for low price. Atmosphere is pleasant for families. Food was delicious and tea is poetry. Been visiting this place around year ago but I think owner was different and was so much worst than now. Now it's really nice, it's clean, food is delicious, staff is friendly and care about clients. Highly recommend ????
I’ve been regularly visiting Zara Restaurant for around 12 months. In my opinion it’s the best place to eat in Nottingham. The service is outstanding, the staff is respectful, courteous and I’m always served with a smile. I enjoy various cuisines from the Mediterranean, Middle East, Sub-Continent and the Far East. The food served in Zara is delicious, fresh and just like home prepared. There’s also complimentary soup and tea available everyday which is inviting. Finally, the food is just incredible value.
