Quick Facts About Afghan Palace
The Afghan Palace restaurant has garnered a mix of positive and negative reviews from customers. In order to assess its strengths and weaknesses, we will analyze the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, several customers commented on the quality of the food. They described it as "super," "very good," and "authentic Afghan food." This indicates that the restaurant excels in providing delicious and traditional Afghan cuisine. Specific dishes were mentioned as favorites, such as the Afghan tikka and lamb/mutton Charaasi Karahi, which suggests that the restaurant offers a diverse and flavorful menu.
Additionally, the restaurant received praise for its spacious and pleasant atmosphere. Customers noted that despite the minimal decoration, the ambiance was enjoyable. The staff was also mentioned as being very friendly and providing great service. The reasonable pricing was another positive aspect highlighted by a customer, implying that the restaurant offers good value for money.
Moving on to the weaknesses, the most significant issue mentioned by multiple customers is the inconsistency of the food. Some customers complained about receiving dry and old dishes, with one even comparing the meat to the dry roads of Afghanistan. Another customer, who claimed to be of Afghan descent, stated that the food made them feel sick on multiple occasions. These comments suggest that the restaurant struggles with maintaining the quality and consistency of their dishes.
Another weakness highlighted is the lack of hygiene and cleanliness in the restaurant. One customer mentioned that the floor was sticky, indicating a need for improvement in the cleanliness standards. Another customer suggested that the restaurant could benefit from a tidy up or upgrade, implying that the overall appearance of the establishment was not up to par.
Several customers also expressed disappointment with the portion sizes and price increase. They felt that they were paying more for less food, indicating that the restaurant may have decreased their portion sizes. This change may have led to customer dissatisfaction and a perception of receiving less value for their money.
Finally, there were complaints about the slow service and inconsistency in the order delivery. One customer mentioned that it took a long time for the food to arrive, while another described a chaotic experience where dishes were brought out in a disorganized manner. Furthermore, several items were out of stock, including all desserts, which may have added to the frustration of customers.
In conclusion, the strengths of Afghan Palace include the quality and authenticity of their Afghan cuisine, a pleasant ambiance, and friendly staff. However, the weaknesses of the restaurant lie in the inconsistency of the food, lack of cleanliness, possible decrease in portion sizes, price increase, and issues with service and order delivery. These weaknesses may need to be addressed in order to improve the overall dining experience for customers.

They gave us this much meat and it was sooooooooooooooooooo dry. Dryer than the Afghanistan roads ???? ( I've been there)
The food here pre covid was nice but now
- You pay more for less
- portion sizes decreased
- food is always drry and old and the chef forgot how to cook.
As an Afghan I say to avoid eating here. Made me feel sick so many times.
I will never eat in this restaurant again.
Ambiente spazioso e gradevole. Apparecchiatura minimale. Porzioni abbondanti è ben presentate. Assenza di alcolici. Personale molto gentile.
It could do with a tidy up or upgrade if you were after fancy... the floor was sticky etc but the food was good as usual - who doesn't love a Kabli Pilau or Peshawari Naan, their lamb kofta doesn't quite live up to spice village as it lacks some flavour. But all in all a good meal was had and it was fairly full. Great service for sure and a reasonably priced meal. Thank you for having us ????
Very good authentic Afghan food, you can get to taste.
Here’s some of my favourite or rankings wise dishes
Starters
Afghan tikka = yes and it’s delicious
Chaapli kebab = Yes but only for the taste
Masala fish = No it just. It worth a try
Mains
Lamb/ mutton Charaasi Karahi = ????yes
Sunday night, restaurant was empty, service was friendly, buy food took forever to arrive. Chicken and lamb seekh kebab were frozen- not fresh + dry and bitter. Chicken tikka was blazing with black pepper- dont get any of those, ended up being inedible. Stick to CHAPLI KEBAB, maybe a lamb curry dish, and their afghan pilao are pretty decent. Something called chicken dampukht was a mess on a plate (dont get that). Nothing arrived properly- half appetizers first with naan, then half mains, then more appetizers, then the final main dish after everyone was done eating and the bread had gone cold. Most of the items were out of stock including all desserts.
