Quick Facts About AL'S BARBERSHOP

Strengths: 1. Good quality haircuts, trims, and beard/mustache services: Multiple comments praise Al for his skills and the quality of his work. 2. Walk-ins welcome: Al's Barbershop does not require appointments, allowing for a more convenient experience for customers who prefer a spontaneous visit. 3. Affordable pricing: Many reviews highlight the reasonable prices offered by Al's Barbershop, making it a budget-friendly option for customers. 4. Great conversation: Customers appreciate the opportunity to engage in enjoyable and interesting conversations with Al while getting their haircuts.
Weaknesses: 1. Inconsistent opening hours: One customer experienced confusion when the shop was closed during its stated opening hours. The lack of communication regarding closures or changes in business hours may inconvenience potential customers. 2. Limited availability: In one instance, a customer was denied entry to the shop without a clear explanation, leading to disappointment and a negative experience. This incident suggests that the availability of services may be restricted in certain situations, potentially impacting customer satisfaction. 3. Unclear waiting procedures: Some clients found it confusing to determine the order of service when multiple customers were waiting. The lack of clear guidelines or instructions can lead to frustration and misunderstandings among customers. 4. Unprofessional behavior: One customer expressed discontent with the way they were treated and felt unfairly banned from the shop. This negative experience may deter potential customers from visiting Al's Barbershop. 5. Limited services for women: Multiple comments emphasize that Al's Barbershop primarily caters to men and does not provide styling salon services for women. While this may not be an issue for male clientele, it limits the shop's potential customer base. 6. Dislike of specific situations: Al has expressed a dislike for certain situations, such as customers driving big RVs into the parking lot. While these preferences are understandable, they may create an unwelcoming atmosphere for some customers. 7. Limited communication: Some customers mentioned a lack of communication or clarity from Al regarding the order of service or wait times. This can lead to frustration and uncertainty for customers, potentially impacting their overall experience.
Overall, Al's Barbershop appears to have strengths in terms of the quality of services provided, affordable prices, and the opportunity for enjoyable conversations. However, the shop faces weaknesses in terms of inconsistent opening hours, limited availability, unclear waiting procedures, occasional unprofessional behavior, and communication issues. Addressing these weaknesses may help improve customer experience and satisfaction at Al's Barbershop.

Best TL Reviews

Al is the man to go to for a good quality Haircut, Trim, Beard, mustache. No appointment needed just walk in sit down watch MASH on tv and Wait your turn.good priced, great conversation.
Al is the man.
Website says open Monday's 10-5. Called to try and make an appointment, voicemail went out of it's way to tell you only Walk-Ins welcome and that you can not make an appointment. Drove all the way to Al's, get there and again Al's hours state 10-5 Monday. Yet, there's a Closed sign and no one in the shop... Not even a, "We're at lunch back back at..." So can't make an appointment, only Walk-Ins welcome, Not Actually Open when I attempt to walk in...? Will not ever use this place again, and I encourage anyone else in the area to avoid this place as well.
Fast, reasonably priced and a quality haircut. What's not to like?
After years of enjoying arguably the best barber in town and getting to know Al, who i had considered a friend, i was disappointed to be permanently denied entry to the shop. After standing outside for 15 minutes in the rain with no other customers in sight, Al met me at the door today and said i had “taken cuts” in the past and asked me to “find another barber.”
I really don’t think that I “took cuts” but I respect Al and will never return. Any of my family either. Sadly.
I hope that’s the only reason but I take him at his word.
As a public service, and for other customers unsure of the procedure perhaps my story will prevent you from being banned too by complaints from customers deemed more important. Al has to make business decisions i guess, if the coward gets a cut every week while doing his laundry next door vs once a month i get that he has more value to the bottom line. It’s too bad, as we are both vets and I also bring my sons in from time to time too. Perhaps this is just a Monday morning concern since that is when the lazy coward wants his laundry and hair done.
If you arrive at the opening early and have to wait outside, beware that sometimes people wait in their cars in the parking lot…and I suspect they will cowardly complain to Al after you leave if you don’t figure out who has dibs in the parking lot. (Apparently you have to check in the laundromat next door too.). My belief was, perhaps in error, that you get in line inside based on who goes through the door first. Apparently that is not so, so be aware.
I really enjoyed Al in past years as he always reminded me of the Seinfeld episode with the harsh soup guy who denied soup to people, in a good entertaining way…and today, sadly, no haircut for me! lol
I wish Al the best. I truly believe this was a misunderstanding but, still, other customers better learn the rules…lest ye service be denied! Permanently.
Oh, and a side piece of advice, don’t drive a big RV into the parking lot. Al hates that too, understandably. People need to know…lol.
Godspeed Al.
Its great to get a haircut like you ask for and have a good conversation while Al's cutting all at a reasonable price.
Passing thru Lincoln City and needed a haircut. Went in, there was a man in the chair with the cut nearly finished and no one else in the shop. Asked Al if he took walk ins, he says "yes". So I sit down and join the conversation. Another guy walks in 5 minutes later, Al says, "oh, this fellow is ahead of you, he just went for a walk."
So I ask if I go next door to buy some fish at Barnacle Bills, would I be next. Al says "after this guy I'm going to lunch." Not sure exactly how long he expects a walk in customer to hang around and wait, but after that nonsense, I headed north and got my haircut in Tillamook.
Pretty much the same treatment as another reviewer described. Stars based on service and communication, not the haircut.
Feel free too walk in! This guy's originally from New York and is great too talk too! Fast, efficient and professional! Feels like the old fashioned barbershops I went too as a kid!
Now been going to Al's for six years, good men's haircuts at a fair price. Only barber in the county who takes walkins. This is a men's barbershop, not a styling salon.
I've been going to Al's for about 8 months now, he does a very good job at a fair price. My wife even likes his work!
2 years now and he's still doing great. It is a men's barbershop not a woman's styling salon.
Al is still going a great job for a fair price, nothing fancy, just a good men's barbershop.
