Quick Facts About Artistic Nails - University Town Plaza
Artistic Nails – University Town Plaza place has both strengths and weaknesses, according to the comments provided.
Starting with the strengths, one customer mentioned that Diane, the nail technician, did an amazing job. She was able to accommodate a last-minute appointment and even did a manicure after the customer initially asked for a fill. This flexibility and attention to detail received praise from the customer. Additionally, Diane repaired a broken nail without pulling off the old one, which the customer appreciated as they dislike this technique.
Another customer mentioned that they had a great experience at Artistic Nails. They were treated nicely, and the staff understood and fulfilled their requests. This positive interaction with the staff added to the overall experience for the customer.
One comment mentioned that the nail technician did an incredible job after the customer showed a Pinterest picture of a complicated design. Despite the complexity, the technician took their time and delivered excellent results. This attention to detail and willingness to take on challenging designs adds to the strengths of Artistic Nails.
Moving on to the weaknesses, a customer described a traumatic nail salon experience at this location. The nail technician attempted to pry off the acrylic nails, which resulted in the customer's natural nails becoming thinner and more damaged. The technician also ignored the customer's request about not cutting their cuticles, leading to bleeding and pain. This experience left the customer in distress and disappointed with the service received.
Another customer shared a negative experience after the salon underwent new management. They opted for a more expensive organic pedicure, expecting higher quality service, but were left dissatisfied. The water temperature was not adjusted as requested, the massage was rushed, and the hot stone massage was not up to par. Additionally, the technician pushed the customer to pay for gel polish and rushed through the manicure, leaving it clumpy and poorly done. The lack of attention to detail and rushed service resulted in a negative experience for the customer.
There were also comments about poor customer service, discrimination, and inconsistency in the quality of service. One loyal customer expressed frustration with the rushed and unsatisfactory services she had received multiple times. She felt that her requests were not taken seriously and that she was treated unfairly compared to other customers. Another customer felt discriminated against by a particular staff member who consistently transferred their service to someone else, leading to feelings of embarrassment and dissatisfaction.
One customer mentioned that their pedicure experience was the worst ever. The technician did not adjust the water temperature despite the customer's complaint, and the pedicure itself was poorly done, with toes ending up crooked. The lack of attention to detail and poor customer service contributed to this negative experience.
Lastly, a customer complained about the quality of their nails after receiving a full set. The polish was chipping and fading into a yellow color, and the bow designs, which were expensive, kept falling off. This customer felt regretful about the high cost of the service and the poor results.
In conclusion, Artistic Nails – University Town Plaza place has strengths in terms of talented nail technicians, accommodating last-minute appointments, and great customer service for some individuals. However, weaknesses include traumatic experiences, rushed service, lack of attention to detail, and poor quality products used. As a potential customer, it is important to consider both the positive and negative aspects before deciding whether to visit this salon.

Diane who did my nails was amazing. They took me last minute and even did a manicure after I said I only need a fill at 6:30pm on a Saturday. Her job was fantastic and she repaired the broken nail without pulling off the old one which I hate.
So I had the most traumatic nail salon experience in my life. I had gotten acrylics while up in MN for a holiday party. Nearly 4 weeks of growth since then and I had cut them once. Decided I should have them taken off before the baby shower and maternity shoot this week. The guy who did it originally attempted to PRY THE ACRYLIC OFF MY NAIL. Then had me soak then in a strong acetone for at least a half hour. As he worked to get the acrylic off, my paper thin nails got buffed even thinner and pitted by the dremel. Then at the end, and this was the worst part, he decided he was going to cut my cuticles, even after I told him I'd rather not have them cut and to please just moisturize them. He didnt listen to me. I now have very bloody, very creviced, very painful thin nails (thin due to being pregnant). I was very polite the entire time and kind of went into "survival nice" where you're really not ok but trying to just get away. He gave me a significant discount because of how painful it was and it truly was a difficult task. I tipped him well because I had decided to tip well before the clipping of the cuticles. After that point I couldn't think straight.
I may have broken down once I got out of there and saw the blood pooling around 2 of my nailbeds...
I showed the guy a picture of something i had seen on Pinterest that was fairly complicated and looked time consuming, but he happily agreed, took his time, and did and INCREDIBLE job!!! I am so so pleased with how they turned out. 10/10 recommend this place!!! (The photo of the Etsy website on the right was the photo i showed him. The photo to the left is the final look!)
I myself was treated so nice. They are so sweet and nice. Understood me and knew what I wanted. I can say, it was a great experience... at least for me it was.
I really hate to be writing this review right now. I have been a customer of this location for roughly 5 years. Service has always been wonderful and I have always come back every 4 weeks for a pedicure or maybe even to have my nails done at the same time. I elected to go today after getting out of the hospital for a week to treat myself to something nice upon arriving I noticed a sign above the building that said New Management new attitude I was kind of surprised to see that the management had changed but figured I would go ahead and give it a shot. I went in and was quickly placed into a pedicure chair I decided to treat myself and do the more expensive $50 organic pedicure. The service was less than desirable. It was rushed. I figured since it was more expensive than what I normally get it would atleast be of somewhat better quality. Boy was I wrong. The water was barely luke warm even after me asking to have it adjusted to a little hotter. The massage was more like a quick rub in of the lotion. The hot stone massage was fast and not anything as near as good as I have received before. I was told that the normal polish I use on my nails were damaging them and I needed to pay for gel. I politely declined as I don't like gel polish. The technician hurt my toes when trimming my cuticles. I jumped a few times. When he was done he moved on to my manicure which mind you I said I wanted my nails done which normally would mean acrylic but I went with this.... He was quick butchered my cuticles and he rushed through before polishing asked me to pay. I gave him my card and he ran it for the $68 for the pedi and Mani. Normally I would be ok but then he quickly polished left it clumpy stuck me at a drying table for 25 minutes and moved on to the next.... Never came back to ensure my nails were dry or even looked decent. My 8 year old could have painted them better than this. Sadly I will not be going back. If I could dispute my cc charge I would.

I feel like half of this is my fault. It’s just too convenient for me that’s why I kept coming back but never again. I should’ve never came back the first time I had my service and I was unsatisfied. My service was rush and overcharged for my regular Manicure with gel polished and Pedicure. But I like to give people chances and benefit of a doubt. I came back once again the beginning of the year. Once again my service was rushed and my pedicure was nasty. It wasn’t properly clean. I came back to fix it and no one wanted to take care of me. Ok cool I don’t mind waiting. They took care of me in less than 5 minutes and just clean the sides of my toenails. Didn’t bother removing the polished and clean the my toe nails. But I’m a faithful customer and like I said maybe I came at the wrong time!
I came back for the last time. For my birthday since I wanted to treat myself. I asked directly for my usual nail tech since he was there this time and usually take a good care of me. I came at 5pm 2 hours before closing I notice that my service was being rushed, he even forgot to put a layer of glitter polish on my nails that I had to remind him and top coat. And he got the ‼️WRONG ‼️color for my finger nails. So I came back the next day he wasn’t there. *sigh* just my luck. I decided to contact the manager/owner of the place to indicate this problem but yet I didn’t get any respond or any acknowledgment. Decided to let it go. I came back within 2 weeks to remove the wrong polish on my hands. The girl on the very left when I was entering greeted me and sat me on her table.I politely asked if she can remove the nail polish of my nails. She spoke her language next thing you know I’m being moved to a different table‼️ this is not the first time she ever done this when I visited this Salon. This happens frequently when I come in and it’s her turn to take a customer she sends me to someone else. I just feel like she doesn’t ever want to give me service in my opinion. Since she did this 3x in my visitation on this nail salon I felt discrimination and embarrassed like why am I being move. How simple is it to remove a gel polish. And of course I was charge for removing the wrong nail polish that was applied on my nails. That was the very last time that I’m going to contribute my money to that kind of business.
I went on a Sunday. I was the only customer in there. An older lady did my pedicure. I was put in a tub of cold water and I had to tell her it was cold for her to put hot water in it. By the time she put the hot water into it , the tub was too full and not even warm. She did my pedicure, after she was done she told me to sit for 5 minutes. I looked at my toes and noticed they were crooked. I waited for her to come back, after about 10 minutes, I ended up putting my flip flops on myself and walked to front to pay. There she was sitting and BSing with the others. I did not leave a tip. I should not have paid for it. Worst ever.DO NOT GO THERE.
My nails are fading into a yellow color from whatever polish they use to coat them after they’re done. The polish is also chipping. It hasn’t even been a week and my nails look terrible. I paid 78.00 for them after the tip and I totally regret it!! The bow designs were expensive and they keep falling off as well. First time I went 2 years ago was amazing. This time.... not so much. God. Most expensive full set I’ve ever done and it’s terrible.
