Quick Facts About Big Daddy's Barber Shop

Big Daddy's Barber Shop has several strengths that make it a popular choice for many customers. Firstly, the atmosphere of the shop is often praised for being friendly, welcoming, and relaxing. This creates a comfortable environment where customers can feel at ease while getting their hair cut. Additionally, the presence of multiple barbers, such as Rene, Maurice, and Ryan, ensures that customers have options and can choose the barber they prefer or try different ones for varying experiences.
The presence of TVs throughout the shop, primarily playing sports, is also seen as a strength by many customers. While this may not be everyone's preference, the volume of the TVs is not loud, allowing individuals to tune them out if they are not interested. This creates a casual and laid-back atmosphere where conversations can flow naturally.
One of the standout strengths of Big Daddy's Barber Shop, according to several comments, is the skill and expertise of the barbers. Many customers express their loyalty to a particular barber, such as Ryan, who they trust to always cut their hair well. The barbers are also commended for their ability to handle different types of hair, with one customer specifically noting that he appreciates that there are multiple choices for customers with different hair types and ethnicities. The option to have additional grooming services, such as beard trims and straight razor edging, is also appreciated by many customers.
Location is another strength of Big Daddy's Barber Shop, with one comment mentioning its convenient position at the corner of Saginaw and Atherton Road in Flint. This makes it easily accessible for customers in the area, which could contribute to its busy nature.
However, despite these strengths, there are some weaknesses that have been highlighted in the comments. One customer states that the barbers at Big Daddy's Barber Shop struggle with cutting white boy hair. While this may be expected, given that the majority of the clientele are black, it can be seen as a limitation for potential white customers seeking specific haircuts or styles. This particular customer expresses dissatisfaction with their experience, suggesting that the barbers either lack the knowledge or are lazy when it comes to cutting white hair.
Another comment indicates a negative experience with a haircut for a four-year-old mixed boy, mentioning a bald spot and uneven cutting. This highlights a potential weakness in the barber's ability to handle haircuts for children or individuals with more diverse hair textures.
Overall, while Big Daddy's Barber Shop has many strengths, such as a friendly atmosphere, skilled barbers, and a convenient location, there are areas where improvements can be made, particularly in handling different hair types and providing consistent quality haircuts. It is important for potential customers to consider their own specific needs and hair types before deciding whether this barber shop is the best fit for them.

Best TL Reviews

Very friendly, welcoming, and relaxing barber shop.. Rene, Maurice, and Ryan, all 3 are great people. It’s also kid friendly if you have little ones. The atmosphere is great so conversations just flow naturally with tv’s all around. It is mostly sports, which for me is awesome, for some it might not be your thing, but the tv’s volume isn’t loud so anyone could easily just tune it out. I grew up with Ryan, an he’s always cut my hair. I will not go to any other place, unless he were to leave, which hopefully he does not. I have literally went without getting a cut until I can get into to see him. I’m really picky about how my hair is cut. He will also do my beard trim, edge, and line me up. Sometimes with a straight razor.. The ones complaining about their barber not being able to cut white peoples hair.. that’s why there are 3 different choices, and each of them are highly skilled at what they do. It’s not absolute but typically in my experience, people do have a difficult time cutting other ethnicities, or genders hair. I’m sure there are plenty of men who do a great job on female hair, but typically if I was a woman I’d go to a beauty salon over a barbershop, an would also prefer another female.. If you happen to be amongst the rare patrons that had a disappointing visit, I’d encourage you to try again, maybe with a different barber. Afterwards, if your experience didn’t meet expectations then Big Daddy’s just isn’t for you. And the great thing is… There are TONS of other places to go an get a haircut.
Great atmosphere and the My Cut was the best I have had in a few years, My barber was the only Young Lady there cutting hair and I got my beard and mustache trimmed as well. I will be back. Corner of Saginaw and Atherton rd. Flint
Basically the only place I go for a cut. Everyone there gives a great cut. They increased prices after covid n with this inflation Maurice should. U might have a little wait, but it’s being busy speaks volumes for the quality of what they do.
Though the people who run it are nice, they are black, 98% of their customers are black, and they just do not know how to cut white boy hair which is to he expected. I asked for a Viking mohawk and showed the lady a picture from my Pinterest. Her response was, "I don't need to see no picture! I got it in my head!" And well, she didn't have it in her head. My son's hair cut barely resembles the mohawk I had requested. She could have taken her time and cut it evenly and well. Yet, she rushed. Tho' I appreciate her and her fellow co workers politeness and kindness, I just cannot recommend them for white people, because they either do not know how to do our hair, or they are lazy/money hungry. Who knows.......
Worst place to get 4 year old mixed boys hair cut at let a bald spot in the side of mu sons head and didnt even cut all of the hair even horrible dont ever go here.????????????????????????????
Although the people were extremely nice, the haircut is absolutely horrible. Sides uneven, front uneven, terrible design on the side.
Very nice place ..they do great hair cuts
I was a walk in. The day of court. I expected a 15 minute cut, like most places. They worked on my hair/beard for 45 minutes. I went from shaggy to a high top. Very clean. Beard was on point. We're a white family. And I intend on taking my kids there as well.
Idk what a "viking Mohawk" is, but on google it's called a temple shave. My overgrown haircut I had prior. Props to Bobby. I know you were nervous but you are awesome.
