Quick Facts About But First, Coffee

But First, Coffee place has several strengths and weaknesses based on the comments provided.
One of the strengths mentioned is the quality of their coffee. They use Ozone beans, which are highly regarded and ensure a good cup of coffee. Customers specifically mentioned that the coffee is really good and of high quality. This is important for a coffee shop, as the quality of their main product is a major factor in attracting and retaining customers. Additionally, the coffee is well priced, with a large size costing £2.60, which is considered competitive and reasonable.
Another strength pointed out is the friendly service provided by the staff. Customers mentioned that the staff seemed to understand the locals and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Friendly service is crucial in creating a positive customer experience and can help build customer loyalty. The fact that customers specifically highlighted the friendliness of the staff indicates that it is a notable strength of the coffee shop.
Customers also praised the ambiance and decor of But First, Coffee place. The use of wood, mustard, and bronze furnishings creates a welcoming and cozy atmosphere. This is important for creating a pleasant and comfortable space for customers to enjoy their coffee. The decor, along with the small size of the shop, also contributes to making the place feel larger than it actually is, which is a positive aspect.
The variety of offerings at But First, Coffee place is another strength. Customers mentioned enjoying the pastries offered by the shop, praising them for their taste and quality. The shop also serves grilled sandwiches on weekends during the summer months, which customers enjoyed. Having a range of food options is important for attracting a wider customer base, as not everyone may be solely interested in coffee.
The coffee shop also appears to have a strong community focus, which is mentioned as a strength in one of the comments. The shop is described as a community hub with different dimensions throughout the day. It serves as a place for commuters to grab a coffee in the morning, a place for families and locals to gather during the day, and even hosts art exhibitions in the evening. This sense of community and versatility can help create a loyal and dedicated customer base.
However, there are also some weaknesses mentioned in the comments. One customer complained about the presence of fruit flies in the pastries, which was off-putting. This suggests a cleanliness issue that needs to be addressed, as fruit flies can impact the overall customer experience and call into question the hygiene standards of the shop. This is a problem that can easily be avoided with proper precautions.
Another weakness pointed out is the lack of drip/brewed coffee options. One customer mentioned that for a place with 'coffee' in its name, they expected those options to be available. Not having drip/brewed coffee may limit the offerings for customers who prefer this type of coffee. Additionally, a customer mentioned receiving a poor-fitting and spilling takeaway cup, which caused frustration. This indicates a need for improvement in terms of the quality of takeaway containers used by the coffee shop.
In conclusion, But First, Coffee place has several strengths including the quality of their coffee, friendly service, pleasant ambiance, variety of offerings, and community focus. However, there are also weaknesses such as cleanliness issues with fruit flies in the pastries and the lack of drip/brewed coffee options. Addressing these weaknesses and continuing to build on the strengths can help ensure the success and reputation of the coffee shop.

Coffee is nice enough. Pastries were absolutely crawling with fruit flies though, not just one or two…pretty off putting and an easy problem to avoid in the first place.
Nice place for coffee. They use Ozone beans, which can’t be a miss ☕️
When we lived in Wightman Rd, it was our local and we loved it.
On Saturday/Sundays in the summer they used to make nice grilled sandwiches too. Coffee it’s really really good!
Very cute place, nice vibes mostly.
But for a place with 'coffee' in it's name you'd expect them to have drip/brewed coffee on hand. And I'm not sure if I was being messed with but the cup/lip given to me was honestly the worst fitting, most spilling take away cup I've ever experienced. It was so frustrating and impossible to go three steps without it spilling all over my hands.
Probably fine if you bring your own mug.
My new go to coffee shop since I have moved in the area. Quality coffee, friendly service, quiet location. 5 stars ????????
I love their pastries! I love their art patronage too! The place is tiny but with many dimensions just like a community hub should be. First, the morning wave of commuters is fended off with strong coffees and fruit pastries; followed by nowhere to rush adults with small kids and dogs; lunch hour for local residents and neighbouring shop owners; homely dinner takeaway menu to greet the returning commuters. And finally, occasional night chime of wine glasses to mark a launch of yet another art exhibition.
Love having this little coffee shop near by! Whether it’s me and my wife walking around and needing a coffee or it being after a jog and in need of some caffeine (after downing a great amount of water!). The coffee is great, the people are brill and the pastries are just stunning. Oh and if you can get your hands on a ‘Bloody Mary Bacon Butty’ then you are winning in life! Keep going ????????
Incredibly friendly place the staff seem to absolutely understand the locals. The decor inside centre around wood, mustard and bronze furnishings and the setup makes such a small space feel welcoming and larger than it is. Coffee is generous, good well rounded taste and well priced, £2.60 for a large is standard and very competitive. With such a warm welcoming I will certainly be visiting again.
